Visited this hotel (3.06 -14.06) with a company of three families with children (children 7-9 years old). According to the reviews of friends who had previously visited Cuba (in other hotels), they were ready to see something shabby and "soviet". In principle, while driving from the airport, and taking other tourists to hotels, it was precisely such "beauties" that we observed : ). All the more pleasant was our surprise when we drove up to the "Laguna Azul" - and saw a wonderful driveway, clean and beautiful, with fountains and palm trees, quite in appearance corresponding to the "5 *" category in any country. Receptionist is also quite nice : ).
Now specifically for the hotel - there are no bungalows in it at all, all the rooms are about the same, they differ in essence only in the view from the window. If the number does not suit you, you can change it at the reception without any problems - for free. The room is quite decent, large, absolutely not shabby, with air conditioning, coffee / coffee maker, free mini-bar (though with a modest assortment such as soda and a couple of beers), free safe. They clean well, they take tips left on the bed with pleasure, expressing gratitude by creating very fantasy figures from blankets and towels. And quickly, by the way - I never had to deal with a cleaning lady. The only problem is that they apparently have a real tension with shampoos and shower gels, because in 12 days, a set of these accessories was replaced only once - and the bottles are small! Well, we had everything with us, otherwise, I think, all this can be easily solved at the reception.
The room has bathrobes, "waffle", true, but in this heat - that's it : ). But there are no slippers - keep in mind! And the floor is tiled! But not cold, in principle. The door to the balcony is with a mosquito net, so the insects did not pester us.

The hotel area is quite large and beautiful, the pools, indeed, as someone wrote, are all shallow, but why do we need pools if there is a beautiful warm ocean nearby : )? And for children, such depth is the most!
By the way, for children there is a kids club with a very small pool. Costume performances are periodically held in this club, you can hire a nanny, or you can just play on the playground.
What else? There is a SPA, not very cheap, but not bad - massages from 30 to 100 pesos... There is a gym. There is a theater and a disco - in the theater every day there are performances - a Cuban show, a disco is quite a fun and party one, it is held on the beach once a week. In general, the animation is beyond praise - something is constantly happening, either games, or learning to dance, or a lottery, or archery, or just a show with elements of synchronized swimming in the pool.
And - there is also table tennis and billiards, non-motorized water activities (such as kayaks and catamarans) - all for free. It seems that there is tennis - but we were not looking for it. Heard from people. Another mysterious game on the street - rolling "donuts" on the playing field with long "spears" : ). I don’t know what it is - I just saw how people played quite enthusiastically.
In general, you won't get bored there, especially if you take into account the constant "recharge" with excellent cocktails from numerous bars : ). By the way, although basically everyone drinks rum-based cocktails (the best ones are in the lobby bar! ), Alcohol is represented there by quite decent brands - Jameson whiskey, Olmeca tequila, wines and champagne - made in Spain, etc. That is, they will not poison you, as in Turkey : ).

The food at the hotel is also excellent, the only thing is that there are no freshly squeezed juices, all juices are like "Yupi" : (. . . But there are no complaints about the variety and taste of food. Be sure to visit all the restaurants "A la carte" - they must first The most "delicious", perhaps, "Romantic" with French cuisine, but the rest are quite on the level. We were especially amused by the waiter in the Italian restaurant, who answered the question "you will be the third" (when men drink cognac brought from home : ) - answered "Yes! " - and after all, he drank : ) !!!
In general, the staff is very friendly and cheerful, they clearly have a very positive attitude towards Russians, although they practically do not speak Russian. But if you have some kind of minimal English, there will be no problems. We gave especially cheerful comrades small gifts - lip glosses for girls, chocolate - for men - all this is accepted with enthusiasm, much more pronounced than just a tip.
In general, both adults and children had a wonderful time in this hotel! Which is what I wish everyone : )!
Tired of writing - if you have questions - I will try to answer! Have a nice rest: )!
