Hotel. The hotel itself - the structure, design, equipment - is very, very good. Perhaps another life was intended for him, not a three-star one...
The staff (at the reception and in the dining room), as a rule, one way or another speaks Russian: guest workers from former socialist countries. The maids don't seem to be Cypriot either.
So, we took two numbers - a double and a single. The rooms are exactly the same. The only difference is the presence of a special slot for the room key fob: insert the key fob into the slot and electricity is supplied to the room. There was no such groove in the single. In general, the system is rather strange - you take the key with you - and your refrigerator and air conditioner turn off. In fact, the refrigerator only works at night. And what is the use of it then?

The rooms are small - only for sleeping. Furnished stylishly. But for a double (or rather, two shifted one and a half) bed, there is only one bedside table. Instead of the second - a table a la stool. The closet is small. There are no shelves and hooks, which is somewhat annoying with the placement of things. But LCD (! ) TV, hair dryer (in the drawer) and a kettle. On the balcony there is a plastic table and one (! ) chair - both in single and in double. There are no dryers anywhere. The bathroom is excellent - a full bath with everything you need.
Cleaned up every day. However, the cleaning is formal in nature - there are rolls of dirt under the bed, the bedside tables are dusty. The bed is sometimes remade, sometimes not. Towels are changed often (sometimes every day), although the schedule is somehow incomprehensible. Toilet paper and shampoo gels are reported as needed. In the double linen was changed three times. In the single, the linen was changed for the first time after 11 days, when it was specifically announced to the reception on this occasion. And the next day they changed again! At first, they left the maids for a euro a day, then they stopped - for nothing.
After 5 days, the phone broke in the double - maybe the socket was touched with a mop, maybe something else. Three times (three days) we applied to the reception, each time the complaint was recorded in a special booklet in front of us, but nothing was fixed.
The pool is large, but... overly warm - the water is 40 degrees - a naturally warm bath. It's already around lunch time. You can't refresh.
Tavern. It is, as it were, - that is. a sign, tables, a large TV... But in fact it is not there - they do not serve. Upon arrival, somewhere around three o'clock in the afternoon, we gathered in this tavern to have a bite to eat. Sat down at the table. We wait. After 15 minutes, they bring appliances and report that there are no waiters here and you need to make an order at the bar. We went to the bar and ordered. We sit and wait. Half an hour later, they come up and say, by the way, that, they say, there are two chefs on the sidelines now discussing something with the manager and they don’t know anything about our order. We sit for another 20 minutes - no one. We spit on everything and go to an independent pub next to the hotel.

Nutrition. Took breakfast and dinner. And there, and there - a buffet. The selection is small, to say the least. But everything is very tasty. In fact, we never saw any fish. From fruits - only oranges, watermelon and melon. Drinks for dinner are offered only to those who took the "all inclusive" (and thus cut themselves off from local bars and taverns, losing a lot). The pool bar is poor - not even a milkshake.
For dinner, there is a queue for distribution (which is self-service) - well, just like in a soviet canteen! The first week in the dining room, the doors were wide open - to the pool and bar. Stuffy, hot, everyone is sweating. Then the management realized to turn on the air conditioner.
There is no animation. At all. The guests entertain themselves - in the evenings they arrange the game "Mafia" - like on TV.
Contingent. 80 percent are Russians. The rest are British, Germans, Ukrainians and Western Slavs. A lot of children.
In general, the hotel itself is excellent. But it seems that the management there is either unprofessional, or new - just learning to manage the hotel, or the owner is very greedy and saves too much.
In general, the hotel as a place to stay with breakfast is excellent (taking into account the price). But one cannot count on something more here.
Neighborhood. The hotel is not in Protaras and not even on its outskirts. This is an independent tourist area north of Protaras. True, it's not far. There are no residential buildings there - only hotels, tourist cottages, bars, shops. A significant part of them is under construction, so it is quite dusty. There are few people in general with so many hotels. However, the beaches (three pieces) are already somewhat overloaded. What will happen when all the hotels are completed? It takes 10-12 minutes from the hotel to the sea and another 5 to the right beach (to the left). There are restaurants, several taverns (although you still have to find them), English pubs. These are the last at every turn and the cheapest, but they will not let you feel the peculiarities of the local cuisine.
In general, the surroundings are very quiet. Animation is practically absent not only in the Paschalia hotel, but also among the neighbors. Only on weekends, when many locals come (they occupy both tourist cottages and hotels), they make noise. But not for long and not so loud.

You can get to Protaras by taxi - 7 euros. Or walk along the promenade along the coast in 30-40 minutes (the last 20 meters of the promenade have not yet been completed) - you get directly to the famous Fig Tree beach.
Ayia Napa can be reached by taxi. The total fee is 17 euros (we got there for 15, back already in the dark - for 18). You can take a bus, but it rarely runs and at 17-18 hours it already stops working.
The wind is constantly blowing, and very strong. Therefore, the heat is not particularly felt. But at sea, despite the wind, there is usually no excitement. In the evening and at night it is even cool - you can do without air conditioning.
What to watch. In general, the eastern part of Cyprus is poor in this respect. We took an excursion "The Charm of Mountain Villages" in jeeps - 72 euros from the nose. They promised that they would be transported almost from Ayia Napa to Troodos along mountain roads. In fact, we drove to Limassol along the highway. True, they were brought to the top of Olympus directly to the British radar. However, the bus would be more comfortable, and the mountains there are not picturesque.
The best tour in Cyprus is Israel! 320 euros from the nose. 40 minutes of summer - and you are in Tel Aviv. Showed Jerusalem and the Dead Sea (with swimming). The organization in Israel is excellent (breakfast, lunch, dinner included in the price). The whole event took exactly a day - at 5:00 we were taken from the hotel, and at 5:00 we were brought back.
What to try. In general, Cypriot wines are so-so. The legendary commandaria is a variant of Malaga, if anyone has tried it, it’s not for everybody. Although the tavern in Ayia Napa gave a rosé wine under its own brand just fantastic - Rhodes is resting! Be sure to try the original local sweetness - viscous lozenges made from carob juice (such a fruit). Chocolate taste.
