I do not consider myself a picky tourist, but I was far from delighted with the hotel.

1) "Colonial" style, in the sense that the hotel was renovated for the last time, apparently, during the colonization by Columbus. Anyway, my number and those numbers that I could see.
Plumbing is old. There was a hair dryer in the bathroom, but there was nowhere to turn it on. The next day it was connected to the lighting, but the light did not turn off after that : -))! Well, God be with him.
Hot water. My room was on the 6th floor. After turning on the shower, hot water came in 10 minutes. Really. Therefore, basically took a cold shower (too lazy to wait). But for me it was not critical - the climate is hot there, and cold water is not the same as in Russia from a tap in winter.
Air conditioning - from the 70-80s of the last century. Installed in a hole in the wall: half - in the room, half - on the balcony. Around it, the wall is somehow sewn up with plywood.

Noisy terribly, even at minimum power, but the air cooled normally. I had to leave it on during the day, and turn it off at night - it was impossible to sleep with such noise. In principle, this was not a problem either, since the nights there are not so hot, and there was enough for the night.
But most of all spoiled the impression of the rest of the bugs! At first I did not notice, then I thought the bugs were some kind of random. Only on the last day it dawned on me that these were natural bugs! There was no point in changing the number, we were leaving. The attendant at the counter said "Bull shit! ". I hope this is not a hotel issue. Perhaps someone who lived before me brought it. I guess I'm just unlucky. But for some reason I was not surprised, given the old age of the rooms.

2) What else disappointed me personally was the beach. Yes, very pleasant fine white sand, which does not burn your feet even in the heat. Yes, sun loungers - please, mostly under palm trees, beauty! But you won't be able to swim normally here.
The swimming area is very small, ending with a rope with buoys, probably 25 meters from the shore (or maybe less). Depth - maximum on the chest of an adult. There is still a little space to the reef, but if you swim behind the rope, the whistle of the employee on the beach is immediately heard. I would not call the water crystal clear, there is nothing to see underwater. You can leave the hotel to the right or left, there will be no whistle and rope (as well as sunbeds under palm trees - all beaches are public and open), but otherwise the picture is about the same.
It's good that we are not exactly "beach" vacationers. Free time from trips was spent more in hotel bars and restaurants.

Other than that, there's probably nothing to complain about. Anex Tour worked clearly and responsibly, Azur Air's delays were within reason. The hotel area is large and green, the hotel staff is helpful. Meals - a good buffet, varied.
There are also 3 restaurants where dinner is by appointment (included in the tour), but they somehow did not impress us. Pour without restrictions and around the clock. Billiards (naturally broken-down), disco at night. The animation seemed almost non-existent to me, even though I'm not a fan.

For those who found the strength to read my review to the end, I advise you to be more responsible in choosing a hotel. (We, in fact, rushed to the first one that came up at a price of about 1000 USD for single accommodation for a week in early August 2017). And then the "Dominican paradise" may not seem like that.
