After 3 weeks, it was time to write a review about our vacation in the Dominican Republic.
I will try to be consistent and evaluate both the rest in this country and the hotel.
I won’t talk about the flight, it’s tedious, it’s understandable, they flew Kyiv - Paris for about 3 hours, there 4.5 hours, and then Paris - Punta Cana for about 9 hours, and even to Kyiv they traveled from Kharkov, in general, more than a day on the way.
We landed in Punta Cana and saw what we should have seen: a nice, small airport under a roof of palm leaves, neat and exotic.
Out of habit, it is very stuffy, hot and “sticky”, as it should be in the Dominican Republic))).

There were difficulties regarding the meeting at the airport, the guide was expecting 2 couples, and 16 people arrived), I had to urgently look for transport, and it took far from 10 minutes. After we finally waited for the transport and set off to the hotels, ours, unfortunately, turned out to be the farthest, although only 30 km. from the airport. And finally we are at the hotel. Our hotel, relative to other Dominican hotels, was considered not large (in terms of area), but it is still large by my standards. And here is the Reception, to my regret, we were not offered drinks, but we wanted so much, and we had to wait for a personal butler, since we ordered the Elegance Club (here I can seem capricious, at that time I was like that, you know how much we got there and how we were tired, dirty and wet, naturally we wanted to eat, drink and, most importantly, take a shower !!! ) we waited for the butler for about 15 minutes. A smiling boy came and took us to a separate Reception only for Elegance Club to check in. And he led us, to put it mildly, not very quickly....My feelings at that moment: 7 pm, more than a day in a sitting position, hungry, sweaty, and around were happy people in beautiful “robes” with cocktails, and we were sweaty and wet in tracksuits and not the first freshness, but our guide with a happy face, not responding to our requests, to go at least a little faster, he still walked in a waddle, and then go about a kilometer. Therefore, yes, I was in a disgusting mood and did not pay attention to all the beauty of the hotel.
That's all the negative))), and now all the most interesting:
Outside our Reception, we were offered champagne and light snacks while we were being cleared. It took 10-15 minutes, and finally we are in the room:
The room is a little over 50 sq. m. , in which there is a large and, as it turned out later, a very comfortable bed, a jacuzzi, a small balcony and a shower with a toilet.
There were no extraneous odors in the room (after some reviews, they were afraid of the smell of dampness), but I don’t recommend storing things in a closed closet, there is dampness and a corresponding smell, but this didn’t upset us at all, we understood what climate we were relaxing in.
Sorry for the detail, but while visiting the toilet she smiled), because she could not understand why the toilet was so high), she felt like a child who could hardly reach the floor with her legs). She also looked with surprise at the telephone set in the toilet.
The shower is peculiar for us, but I think it’s stupid to attribute this to the minuses: it’s just not a big room without a pallet, there are tiles on the floor with a drain, a shower hangs, additional built-in types of shower on the walls.
Minibar: water, sweet soft drinks, beer, Baileys, Vodka, Rum and champagne (water and beer were regularly updated, other drinks on request)
There is also a coffee maker in the room.
If I were negative and found fault with everything that was possible, I would find fault with sloppy painting, with old sockets, as well as with a heated towel rail, which is on the balcony, screwed on parole to the wall, after the first drying of the swimsuit, swimming trunks and one towel, just fell off. After a request to fix it, he was neatly put against the wall))), this did not make us angry at all, but even touched).
Cleaning in the room: as for me, it is far from ideal, but the floor was washed, towels were changed every day, the bed was changed 3 times.

I really liked the staff, all smiling, friendly, courteous. They remember that you drink, they try to please you. Therefore, we left tips from the bottom of our hearts, and not on demand and not because it is customary. Once again, I was convinced, treat people the way you want them to treat you.
Meals: We had breakfast only 3 times in the General Restaurant. Any scrambled eggs, omelettes, pancakes to order, everything was done quickly by a maximum of 2-3 people. Fish, meat cuts, vegetables. I counted 8 types of cheeses, including dor blue, philadelphia, parmesan. Fresh you order at your discretion. Arriving at a meal, you are immediately offered water, coffee, milk. You can also order any alcohol at any time of eating, the maximum that we had to wait was 10 minutes.
The rest of the days we had breakfast in our building, which was quite enough for us.
We dined only at the Sea&Sea restaurant overlooking the ocean. For lunch there were always shrimp, mussels, scallops, squid and several types of fish, a couple of times lobsters (They were always present at dinner in this restaurant). We accidentally tried pizza and I understood why the Americans are waiting for it, I have never tried a tastier pizza. The hamburger patties are great, they are cooked in front of you, like seafood. We had dinner every evening only in this restaurant, or rather ended our day by eating lobsters, listening to the ocean at night and drinking champagne)))

Japanese is a complete disappointment, Dominicans are not allowed to cook sushi
French - very good
Steakhouse - ordinary, we were not particularly impressed

Alcohol)))) super! , be sure to make friends with the bartender near whose bar you will often live (shifts are long for about 2-3 months, so there will be the same bartenders at the same bar). For girls, I definitely recommend Pina Colada, Majestic, Miami Beach.
For men, mamajuana, bloody Mary, but ask not for tomato juice, but for a tomato cocktail!
Alcohol is decent.

Excursions are all expensive from $ 100 per person, some were, they did not make a big impression. I will not describe, otherwise I get some kind of long report, write to anyone who is interested, I will definitely tell you.
I will please the female half, if you want, take your beautiful outfits, in the evening you can
"defile", especially near the main bar.
By the way, about the contingent: Slavic brothers 10 - 15%, Americans, Canadians - about 40%, so guys, the animation is adjusted for them, you will not hear Russian speech from the animators, except perhaps a couple of words if one of the Russian speakers takes part in competitions , also a large percentage of Hispanics (Spaniards, Brazilians, Mexicans), Europeans are found singly (English, Poles, etc. )
I want to warn you, there was a theft in our hotel, which we learned about. The couple had 2 mobile phones stolen from them, which were left charging in the room. This, of course, is a minus for the hotel, but do not forget that poverty breeds theft, and the Dominican Republic, as you understand, is far from a rich country. Each room has a modern safe, it's a sin not to use it.
We went in the so-called rainy season), the rain was 2 times for 5 minutes.
And the most important thing! My whole review boils down to one thing, we went to the Dominican Republic for a “lazy” vacation, a delightful ocean, a beautiful beach, which was cleaned from algae every day in the early morning, because at this time of the year there are a lot of them. Walking along the coast, we saw hotels in which this cleaning was not carried out, I can tell you that the view is not very good.
Sitting on the ocean, with a delicious cocktail, listening to light Latin music, looking at the wonderful landscapes, I rested my body and soul. And at such moments you understand that living is good, and living well is even better (thanks for these words to our famous film). And on our planet, there are still so many amazing places where you have not been, but you really want to visit.
