We flew there and back via Paris. But on the way back (Punta Cana - Paris) we flew in a half-empty plane, each passenger got at least 3 places where they could lie down and sleep, so the road was not so tiring. This was most likely due to the fact that we flew to Paris on Monday morning. But we flew to Punta Cana from Paris on Monday morning in a crowded plane and it was hard. I suggest that on Wednesday and Thursday the planes there are not so full. If someone flew these days from Paris towards the Caribbean, please confirm or refute my version. I would like to know for planning my next trips.

We paid for two rooms: one for honeymooners and one standard with two separate beds. Our operator several times emphasized the need to provide 1 room with separate beds, but we were put in a room with one large bed. True, they showed us a room with separate beds, but we refused it, it really breathed dampness on us, and it was the 2nd floor, I don’t even know what to say about the 1st floor. I can definitely say that dampness is not felt on the 3rd floor. Regarding extraneous odors, I want to say that they are present after the rain (the longer it rains, the longer the odors will last). Club houses are indeed located closest to the ocean, but correspondingly farthest from the main restaurants, although the walk is useful. The rooms are good, the beds are really comfortable, everything works. Here are some oddities with respect to cleaning. We were given a questionnaire where we had to indicate such things: when it is better to clean the room, what drinks in larger quantities should be put in the minibar, on what days and at what time to fill the jacuzzi, and so on. We filled out the questionnaire and conscientiously took it to the club reception, but it is not clear why. The rooms were cleaned when necessary, and not during the period of time that we noted, the situation in the bar did not change, the jacuzzi was not filled on the designated days by the scheduled time. During the cleaning process, they constantly forgot to put some kind of towel.
Since we settled in a room with one bed, we were asked to give us a second blanket (although it is impossible to call it a blanket, a thin plaid), so they didn’t wait for it for two weeks.
The bar was replenished regularly, shampoos, shower gels, soap replenished approximately every five days. We had one room service menu for two rooms (that is, we might not have had it at all), but we never used it, because we were afraid not to wait (given their super slowness).
Nutrition. Above all praise. Tasty, varied and very dangerous for the figure (I really want to try everything at once). Beef just melts in your mouth (especially in an Italian restaurant). Seafood is not even worth commenting on, although the fish is not always pleasing, but this is nothing. Pizza is very tasty, but there are many things to list. The most delicious papaya (from the countries where we have been), not bad mango and pineapple, but the fruit is a seasonal thing, so at other times there will be other fruits and other sensations. In general, the Dominican Republic is a place where you can eat high-quality, environmentally friendly and deliciously prepared products, this is its undoubted advantage. With regard to booze, too, only compliments, French champagne and wines, Italian martinis, and so on. etc. But with some cocktails, a puncture, a disgusting majito (instead of lime, citric acid + blackened mint), margarita does not look like anything at all.
All restaurants are good in their own way, only Japanese was disappointing.
Dress code. The dress code applies only to dinner, but this does not mean that you can come to breakfast or lunch in a swimsuit (they won’t let you in), men will definitely be forced to wear a T-shirt or T-shirt and shorts, pareos are enough for women. Dinner is another matter. The most severe dress code in a French restaurant (the most restrictions), and they mainly concern men (closed shoes, trousers, tennis shoes). And the female half was happy to skip their outfits (very reminiscent of the cartoon about Prostokvashina). When packing your suitcase, keep these rules in mind.
Excursions. Not particularly impressed. So, in order to unwind, it’s worth going to catalinita (I advise VIP), as already mentioned in other reviews, the advantage is: a smaller group, a boat with a canopy, no pushing at dinner. Be sure to take a protective cream and light clothing (including a hat) so as not to burn out and do not feel sorry for getting wet.
We also went to Santo Domingo, but we weren’t impressed, it’s worth going there only for souvenirs (the choice is bigger, the prices are more democratic). Regarding prices. If the issue is very fundamental, you can always monitor prices in the hotel and in other places. For example, Rum Barsaleo Imperial, which is actively advertised, at the hotel cost $40 a bottle, in Matryoshka (a supermarket near the airport, they are brought there after catalinita) for this price 2 bottles, and in Santo Domitngo 2 bottles for $19 for a promotion (but we didn't get it). Vanilla in pods - at the hotel $ 11, in Santo Domingo - 9, but vanilla extract, the cheapest was in our hotel. When shopping, pay attention to weight or volume. So, vanilla extract in one shop in the hotel was 5 dollars, and another 6 dollars, but at 6 dollars it had a larger volume, so it was more profitable to take it at this price.
Contingent. We got on a frenzied arrival of Americans, they made up about 90% of vacationers, but by the end of the stay, Hispanic guests began to appear. It's cool to watch how American youth from a couple of portions of Mamajuana dance in the pool at night (joying that the number does not go to this pool), it's not very cool to watch how, again, American youth smoke weed right in the pool, washing it down with champagne and cocktails (but again - still rejoicing that the room is not on the pool). But in principle, they are harmless, do not stick and do not climb with showdowns, but simply enjoy life and apologize to you at every step.

In principle, it may seem that a good rest, a decent hotel, a little relaxed and singing and dancing Dominicans all the time, a green, warm ocean, a clean beach, there are enough sunbeds for everyone and you don’t need to occupy them neither light nor dawn - yes, everything is fine, and despite the fact that it was there that Hurricane Sandy was forming at the time of our stay, the weather was excellent, but the whole impression was spoiled by theft. Yes, they steal and will steal everything that is bad in the rooms. Not everyone steals money, but one bill of different denominations, provided that there are more than 3-4 of these bills of the same denomination. The calculation is simple, on vacation you do not always remember exactly how much and where you spent and what the bills were. Therefore, vigilance and vigilance again, even if you leave the room for 20-30 minutes, lock everything of value in a safe. In our case, these unfortunate 30 minutes were enough and the safe was not closed to the code (but the closet in which it was located) and 120 dollars said goodbye. Then at the club reception they heard how the Americans were indignant about a similar issue. So this is a system, do not flatter yourself, the country is really poor, and the presence of such a neighbor as Haiti does not contribute to a safe criminogenic environment, so it is better not to appear outside the hotel. If you need to go to the shopping center (and they are still far from the hotel), do not huddle - take a taxi - life is still more expensive.
And do not have the illusion that in case of theft (anything: money, things, telephones, etc. ), the hotel admits its guilt, NEVER! Do not forget that the main contingent is the Americans, and if the hotel admits its guilt at least once, this will be sufficient reason for the Americans to sue the hotel for considerable moral damage in the future (they are masters in this matter, unlike us).

True, they showed us a room with separate beds, but we refused it, it really breathed dampness on us, and it was the 2nd floor, I don’t even know what to say about the 1st floor. I can definitely say that dampness is not felt on the 3rd floor. Regarding extraneous odors, I want to say that they are present after the rain (the longer it rains, the longer the odors will last). Club houses are indeed located closest to the ocean, but correspondingly farthest from the main restaurants, although the walk is useful. The rooms are good, the beds are really comfortable, everything works. Here are some oddities with respect to cleaning. Since we settled in a room with one bed, we were asked to give us a second blanket (although it is impossible to call it a blanket, a thin plaid), so they didn’t wait for it for two weeks.
The bar was replenished regularly, shampoos, shower gels, soap replenished approximately every five days. We had one room service menu for two rooms (that is, we might not have had it at all), but we never used it, because we were afraid not to wait (given their super slowness).
Nutrition. Above all praise. Tasty, varied and very dangerous for the figure (I really want to try everything at once). Beef just melts in your mouth (especially in an Italian restaurant). Seafood is not even worth commenting on, although the fish is not always pleasing, but this is nothing. Pizza is very tasty, but there are many things to list. The most delicious papaya (from the countries where we have been), not bad mango and pineapple, but the fruit is a seasonal thing, so at other times there will be other fruits and other sensations. In general, the Dominican Republic is a place where you can eat high-quality, environmentally friendly and deliciously prepared products, this is its undoubted advantage. With regard to booze, too, only compliments, French champagne and wines, Italian martinis, and so on. etc. But with some cocktails, a puncture, a disgusting majito (instead of lime, citric acid + blackened mint), margarita does not look like anything at all.
All restaurants are good in their own way, only Japanese was disappointing.
Dress code. The dress code applies only to dinner, but this does not mean that you can come to breakfast or lunch in a swimsuit (they won’t let you in), men will definitely be forced to wear a T-shirt or T-shirt and shorts, pareos are enough for women. If the issue is very fundamental, you can always monitor prices in the hotel and in other places. For example, Rum Barsaleo Imperial, which is actively advertised, at the hotel cost $40 a bottle, in Matryoshka (a supermarket near the airport, they are brought there after catalinita) for this price 2 bottles, and in Santo Domitngo 2 bottles for $19 for a promotion (but we didn't get it). Vanilla in pods - at the hotel $ 11, in Santo Domingo - 9, but vanilla extract, the cheapest was in our hotel. When shopping, pay attention to weight or volume. So, vanilla extract in one shop in the hotel was 5 dollars, and another 6 dollars, but at 6 dollars it had a larger volume, so it was more profitable to take it at this price.
Contingent. We got on a frenzied arrival of Americans, they made up about 90% of vacationers, but by the end of the stay, Hispanic guests began to appear. It's cool to watch how American youth from a couple of portions of Mamajuana dance in the pool at night (joying that the number does not go to this pool), it's not very cool to watch how, again, American youth smoke weed right in the pool, washing it down with champagne and cocktails (but again - still rejoicing that the room is not on the pool). But in principle, they are harmless, do not stick and do not climb with showdowns, but simply enjoy life and apologize to you at every step.

In principle, it may seem that a good rest, a decent hotel, a little relaxed and singing and dancing Dominicans all the time, a green, warm ocean, a clean beach, there are enough sunbeds for everyone and you don’t need to occupy them neither light nor dawn - yes, everything is fine, and despite the fact that it was there that Hurricane Sandy was forming at the time of our stay, the weather was excellent, but the whole impression was spoiled by theft. Yes, they steal and will steal everything that is bad in the rooms. Not everyone steals money, but one bill of different denominations, provided that there are more than 3-4 of these bills of the same denomination. The calculation is simple, on vacation you do not always remember exactly how much and where you spent and what the bills were. Therefore, vigilance and vigilance again, even if you leave the room for 20-30 minutes, lock everything of value in a safe. In our case, these unfortunate 30 minutes were enough and the safe was not closed to the code (but the closet in which it was located) and 120 dollars said goodbye. Then at the club reception they heard how the Americans were indignant about a similar issue. So this is a system, do not flatter yourself, the country is really poor, and the presence of such a neighbor as Haiti does not contribute to a safe criminogenic environment, so it is better not to appear outside the hotel. If you need to go to the shopping center (and they are still far from the hotel), do not huddle - take a taxi - life is still more expensive.
And do not have the illusion that in case of theft (anything: money, things, telephones, etc. ), the hotel admits its guilt, NEVER! Do not forget that the main contingent is the Americans, and if the hotel admits its guilt at least once, this will be sufficient reason for the Americans to sue the hotel for considerable moral damage in the future (they are masters in this matter, unlike us).

Out of habit, it is very stuffy, hot and “sticky”, as it should be in the Dominican Republic))).
There were difficulties regarding the meeting at the airport, the guide was expecting 2 couples, and 16 people arrived), I had to urgently look for transport, and it took far from 10 minutes. After we finally waited for the transport and set off to the hotels, ours, unfortunately, turned out to be the farthest, although only 30 km. from the airport. And finally we are at the hotel. Our hotel, relative to other Dominican hotels, was considered not large (in terms of area), but it is still large by my standards. And here is the Reception, to my regret, we were not offered drinks, but we wanted so much, and we had to wait for a personal butler, since we ordered the Elegance Club (here I can seem capricious, at that time I was like that, you know how much we got there and how we were tired, dirty and wet, naturally we wanted to eat, drink and, most importantly, take a shower !!! ) we waited for the butler for about 15 minutes. A smiling boy came and took us to a separate Reception only for Elegance Club to check in. And he led us, to put it mildly, not very quickly....My feelings at that moment: 7 pm, more than a day in a sitting position, hungry, sweaty, and around were happy people in beautiful “robes” with cocktails, and we were sweaty and wet in tracksuits and not the first freshness, but our guide with a happy face, not responding to our requests, to go at least a little faster, he still walked in a waddle, and then go about a kilometer. Therefore, yes, I was in a disgusting mood and did not pay attention to all the beauty of the hotel.

Outside our Reception, we were offered champagne and light snacks while we were being cleared. It took 10-15 minutes, and finally we are in the room:
The room is a little over 50 sq. m. , in which there is a large and, as it turned out later, a very comfortable bed, a jacuzzi, a small balcony and a shower with a toilet.
There were no extraneous odors in the room (after some reviews, they were afraid of the smell of dampness), but I don’t recommend storing things in a closed closet, there is dampness and a corresponding smell, but this didn’t upset us at all, we understood what climate we were relaxing in.
Sorry for the detail, but while visiting the toilet she smiled), because she could not understand why the toilet was so high), she felt like a child who could hardly reach the floor with her legs). She also looked with surprise at the telephone set in the toilet.
The shower is peculiar for us, but I think it’s stupid to attribute this to the minuses: it’s just not a big room without a pallet, there are tiles on the floor with a drain, a shower hangs, additional built-in types of shower on the walls.

We dined only at the Sea&Sea restaurant overlooking the ocean. For lunch there were always shrimp, mussels, scallops, squid and several types of fish, a couple of times lobsters (They were always present at dinner in this restaurant). We accidentally tried pizza and I understood why the Americans are waiting for it, I have never tried a tastier pizza. The hamburger patties are great, they are cooked in front of you, like seafood. We had dinner every evening only in this restaurant, or rather ended our day by eating lobsters, listening to the ocean at night and drinking champagne)))

We visited the village of artists Altos de Chavon - this is a unique place, like a piece of the Mediterranean Middle Ages in a tropical paradise. In the center of the avenue, on the square, many world celebrities got married in the church of St. Stanislaus, and in the jungle near the city some scenes of the film Apocalypse Now, a remake of King Kong and Anaconda were filmed. Very picturesque places! 300 steps down and we were on the banks of the Chavon River, got into a speedboat and went down the river with a breeze to the Caribbean Sea, swam with starfish, then looked at the mangroves, which are inhabited by amazing birds - frigates, very beautiful.
After that, we sailed to the tiny island of Catalinita, located between the island of Saona and the coast of the Dominican Republic, at the confluence of the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. There were practically no compatriots in the hotel, with the exception of another couple, mostly Americans, Canadians, a few Germans and Italians. The Americans didn’t like it very much, apparently for them the Dominican Republic, like Turkey or Egypt for the Russians, behave ugly, their whole vacation consists in pumping their stomachs with Mama Juana (local rum) and after that in wild screams from the balconies. The territory of the hotel is pretty decent, a swimming pool with impeccably clean water stretches across the entire hotel, the territory is literally licked by the staff, who is sooo smiling and friendly to the hotel guests. Separately, I want to write about the cuisine, everything is very suuuuuuper !!! , such a variety of dishes and delights, perhaps you will not find anywhere else, an abundance of fruits, freshly squeezed juices, seafood, delicious Chilean wine, various pastries, not to mention six restaurants. Every evening themed dinners, Mexican cuisine, Dominican, Japanese, Italian, French cuisine, hotel chefs are real professionals in their field, culinary artists. The hotel beach is well maintained, cleaned daily, very pleasant coral sand and turquoise ocean, the hotel has a very favorable location of the beach, it lies in the fact that 50 meters from the shore, there is a coral reef, on which huge ocean waves break and therefore it is very comfortable to swim, because the water is almost always clean, unlike neighboring hotels, where there is no such reef and therefore the water there is a mixture of sand and algae. But not only in this regard, Majestic wins, a lot of local "inhabitants", fish, crabs and various crustaceans live on the reef, so you can safely dive into the water in a mask, a depth of 2.5-3 meters, very interesting, especially for children. The coastline itself is very long, which is not conducive to lying on a schislong, eating hamburgers and drinking beer, but to walking along the purest coral sand. The hotel has its own floating facilities, kayaks, canoes, yachts, which can be used free of charge. Also to your attention beach volleyball and various competitions. The hotel has two huge concert halls, where in the evenings local artists entertain tourists and do it quite spectacularly and professionally. In the evenings, live music is played, in the Latin style, those who want to have fun can dance samba or rumba with animators. The excursion program is not so diverse, the standard set and everything is very expensive, we visited Saona, the town of Casa de Campos, took a boat ride on the Chavon River, swam in the purest water with starfish. To sum up, dear friends, I will express my purely subjective opinion, the hotel is worthy of its 5 stars, in other respects as well as its beach, the rest was a success, I advise everyone.

Tried chocolate and caramel vodka! Very tasty! I was extended the check-out time from the room, and this is also due to the fact that the Club system!
