We traveled in December 2020 with a boyfriend (our honeymoon). We also read a bunch of reviews and watched a million videos about the RIU hotel chain. We decided to take this particular hotel because it was more affordable than other hotels in this chain. AND DON'T REGRET!
We met with the guys who, it turns out, have been returning to this hotel more than once. True, sometimes there were problems with wifi, it did not connect for a long time.
As soon as we arrived in the Dominican Republic, I was already delighted with everything: the climate, the country, good-natured people around, the ocean!
*Ocean and beach: just the bomb! The hotel is located 5 minutes from the beach (just walk there for a buzz, don't think it's far to walk)!
We practically did not swim in the Pool, and every day from morning until evening we rested on the beach.
It seems to me that we (our RIU hotels) have the most beautiful and well-groomed beach! The beach is cleaned every morning. THE OCEAN IS INCREDIBLE, REALLY!
*Hotel: more or less clean, good staff! We are picky guests
*Food: someone may complain of course, but we liked everything - the food is delicious, and there was always a lot of food! And especially fruits, pancakes, pastries, meat and fish (there was fish every day - 3-4 types each). Ice cream every day for every taste. Everything was in the restaurant
* Territory: large, well-groomed, mega green with a beautiful pool above which there is a good bar with awesome alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks)) + there is a good playground for children in the same place on the territory.
*Settlement: there were no problems with this. At first we were given 1 room with windows on a neighboring hotel (where the water slides are), but at night it was a little noisy as these slides were being cleaned. We asked for another room and were given a nice one - pool view.
* Vouchers: taken from the guide already at the hotel.
BE SURE TO VISIT SAONA - take a ticket there: of course there is beauty, this is the Caribbean Sea, you will be shocked by the beauty! They also advised us to swim with dolphins in the open ocean (by the way, the price is affordable). If the budget remains - FLY BY A HELICOPTER (I will attach a photo, super views! ).

5 - the price is very affordable
6 - on the way to the beach there are many shops with food and all sorts of gifts.
Cons: honestly, we were so delighted with the rest that there is nothing bad to say)) Sometimes cleaning may not be all super.

Room - we were settled in 410 with a view of Riu Bambu, from the balcony in the morning just a gorgeous sunrise! The room is quite lively, tired refrigerator and safe, but working. Cleaned every day, towels changed too! Of the accessories - ordinary soap and shower gel, so take your cosmetics with you. Water was brought without problems 2 bottles of 1.5 liters, 2 bottles of 0.5 liters, 2 bottles of Pepsi of 0.5 liters. There are mosquitoes, take funds.
The food is all delicious!

The Dominican Republic, in principle, is a continuous movement, here all the locals are always dancing and having fun.

Noise from arriving buses (parking nearby), noise from air conditioners and some other building opposite makes a hum. With a closed balcony it is quieter, but there is nothing to breathe. You turn on the air conditioner or fan, it gets cold and you have to open the balcony. Because the locals are rather hot people, and then they disperse to their rooms with songs and shouts in the corridors. At the reception they don’t do anything about it, even complain a hundred times. The hotel manager is not allowed to talk. One answer - everyone will leave tomorrow and it will be quiet. In fact, new ones come and everything starts in a new way.
Anex's rep did nothing to help reduce the noise, for example by talking to the manager in person. She offered only to write a complaint about the hotel. The flora and fauna of the Caribbean was presented around in all its splendor - palm trees, fruit trees, various birds flew around, fluttered, paced - peacocks, pelicans, flamingos, small exotic birds. . . We also drove past sports grounds, courts, reservoirs of various types and forms (from artificial lakes to pools and fountains). I took a shower in the bathroom (there was everything you needed - towels, a bathrobe, all kinds of shampoos, shower gels and something purely feminine). After I went down to the restaurant. The menu was traditional for the Dominican Republic - fruits and meat (fried, steamed, grilled, etc. , etc. )... “Having killed the worm”, I went to the beach. The beach was perfect - white fine sand, clear water, algae were present, but they were quickly removed. Stretched out on a lounger, I instantly fell asleep... When I woke up, the sun was already setting, the first tan this summer pleasantly tingled my skin, and I decided to cool off. I went into the water, expecting a hiss from a red-hot body??? ? . These 40 minutes in the water were like a zoology lesson as the coral reef featured a full range of local flora and fauna. In general, I recommend it to everyone!

I chose a sun lounger next to the bar and in the evening the local bartender and I already became good friends (as far as my knowledge of Spanish and his English allowed), and I'm afraid after his luxurious cocktails I will no longer be able to drink others. After the beach, in a rather “high spirits”, I went to the hotel theater, to the evening program (I won’t describe it in detail, I can only say that after it my mood became even more upbeat))??? ? . The hotel is one large 4-storey building overlooking the garden or pool, the rooms, so, in general, all have a good view. It makes sense to overpay for suites if you plan to spend a lot of time in the room, they are much more spacious than standard rooms and have a good seating area, better than standard amenities. Since we planned to only spend the night in the room (and not always, because the plans included visiting the north of the Dominican Republic), we settled on a standard room. In it we found a bed, a storage area, a TV with 2 music channels, a minibar, bedside tables and a greeting from the hotel. They did not find the declared wifi and immediately purchased a local unlimited SIM card for $12. We could use the territory of the whole complex, but the infrastructure was not. Although it is quite possible to soak up the pool of neighboring hotels, they will not kick you out. Restaurants, of course, according to approved categories. I believe that the relatively low cost of the conditions are decent. The territory is huge. well-groomed, with livestock and vegetation, with very friendly staff. The complex has a sauna, several restaurants (in my opinion 6), many bars and eateries, a gym and swimming pools with animation and for a relaxing holiday. You will have to go to the beach, not the first line, but everything, again, is inside the same complex. For example, in Asia, the second line is often understood as a line often separated by a busy highway, in the case of Naiboa, you just need to walk a little longer : ) Arena Gorda beach and the part that is located near the complex is extremely beautiful_soft, weightless, floury sand, long picturesque beach, immersed in the shade of palm trees, a gentle entry into the water, and, of course, the water itself is a miracle. It is better to come here in advance, ideally, of course, to meet the dawn, when most vacationers are still sleeping, you can enjoy this beauty in solitude. Although it is unlikely that you will be able to be absolutely alone here, couples roam here in the evening and at night, and in the morning yoga will be practiced a few tens of meters from you. Well, after breakfast, most of the vacationers rush to the beach, music plays here, they carry drinks, children run around, someone dances, and the atmosphere completely changes. But at any time, it's very atmospheric here! Regarding the animation at the main pool, I can say that they always arrange something interesting, really. we did not participate, because we divided our vacation into an excursion and relaxation program, and if we relaxed by the pool, we preferred to do it in a calm atmosphere. Regarding sightseeing trips, we took a survey in our host Anexa, but to Saona and Los Autisos and to the north of the Dominican Republic from 2 bananas, in both cases we were satisfied.
