Lots of bukuff. Were 12 days with my wife and child (6 years). Basically everything is super: nature, weather, food, people are friendly.
More. Drinks by the river all day - I tried cocktails. Of course, the local balm Bitner - Mamajuana. Bars in the foyer (it is also a lobby, reception), in the pools. The restaurant by the pool also has a bar and snacks, fruits.
The main restaurant - a buffet - hearty, a large assortment of dishes. The Dominican Republic is generally suitable for vacationers with children, because. the menu, one might say, is European, it does not abound with exotics. There was always soup for lunch.

Dish of the day: they always cut some giant beef or pork leg, chicken, fish in front of you. The fish was once huge - a head three times human. Chicken and turkey are delicious. In general, food is not like our chymosis. Even breast, cat. in our clean view it is dry and good only in a salad, there it melts in your mouth. Of the fruits, there were no avocados - not the season, but there were always delicious bananas and the most delicate mangoes, papaya, passion fruit and pineapples, as well as watermelons (no rind, not very sweet), subspecies of orange with a green rind and orange melons (not sweet). There was also sugarcane cut into strips. The pastries are delicious.
Desserts are quite decent, but we were spoiled in this regard by the Grand Resort in Limassol, whose desserts will be more refined.
National and international cuisines: every evening in the restaurant they hung out for greater clarity, respectively. flag. The cuisines were repeated: their own, Spain, Italy, USA, European and “from the chef”. On the day of Dominican cuisine, a "mermaid" with a decollete was seated at the entrance to the hall.
With seafood, however, a bummer. Not Thailand, as they say. At times there were shrimps, squid rings, scallops. Everything is not very good. Be careful with scallops - often fragments of shells fall on the tooth.
Of the minuses of the kitchen is that they like not to fry, not to cook. You can’t cut any steaks, you can’t chew them. Cauliflower crunches, but you want boiled.
They didn’t sign up for themed restaurants, didn’t go. At the buffet, take as much as you want and immediately, and in those, as they said, you order from the menu at random (as you understand, without pictures and in a foreign language), you don’t know what and you wait an hour until they bring you one dish.
Breakfast is also varied, but always the same, which, oddly enough, is good, because against the backdrop of lunch and dinner, I wanted predictability. Freshly squeezed juices - pineapple (always took), melon, papaya, banana. A cheerful cook will fry a different egg for you. In general, the local people are very melodious. My son was bitten by some kind of beetle (everything worked out, but they were alarmed) - they took advantage of insurance, even the doctor hummed at the time of the examination.
The weather has always been beautiful, the clouds are beautiful intricate. Sometimes there was a short, but sometimes plentiful, warm rain. The sky was cloudy for a couple of days. The humidity is high, the clothes do not dry properly.

Rich well-groomed vegetation pleases the eye. Palms. Gardeners climb to the very top and cut down coconuts and branches. You ask for a coconut, they will trim it with a machete - you drink it. You bring it to the bar and they will mix it with alcohol for you.
In general, nature and climate are more pleasant than our traditional (currently RIP) Egypt, Turkey and Cyprus. There are thorns, dead wood, not a cloud in the sky. Here is nonsense.
Peacocks of both sexes walk around the territory. The jackdaws are chirping. Like our crows: they fly up to profit, they like to splash in the pool.
The ocean is warm, without storms, but restless. The transparency of the azure water is broken by the waves lifting sand from the sandy bottom. People love to feed ocean fish with bread. Once, when there were quite a lot of them and various ones, they jumped out of the water. The son was horrified by this.
It was sometimes windy on the beach: the freezing wife was chilly, but nothing to me. There is no wind near the pool, but it is stuffy in the heat.
A lot of algae washed ashore and dangled at the water's edge. Slightly spoiled the view. According to the guide, the consequences of recent storms. The car cleaned the shore from them.
After lunch we went to the ocean (in the morning it is more hectic), in the morning we warmed ourselves by the main pool with a mermaid. Once they wanted to relax by the pool after dinner, but the sunbeds were all occupied - the people were swarming, there were generally three rows at the water bar.
Some of our gulens were unhappy that the pool was only until 18:00.
We went to the water park once. The wife is a coward, she never rides. The child was very pleased. I liked it too. At first, as always scary, but the main thing is the first step. And there are no queues for the slides, as in the Mytishchi KVA-KVA park.
On the day of departure, for the last time, I even ran out alone for a ride. It was running away - the park is somewhat removed from the main. array, and time was precious.

On the second day, meeting with the guide: they immediately try to sign you up for excursions and a free trip to the “factory” of local products that the Dominican Republic is famous for: rum, cocoa, coffee, chocolate, cigars, jewelry with larimar pebbles (Dominican exclusive) and turquoise (like not like everyone else).
They are trying to take you still “warm” until they have time to look around, because the tour operator’s prices are too high for excursions. All the same will be offered to you for more modest money by the guys who feed themselves on the territory of the hotel and the holders of souvenir shops on the outskirts of the hotel territory.
Don’t go to the “factory” either - pay dearly at three and lose half a day.
All products are, firstly, in the shops on the territory of the hotel, and secondly, on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 15 to 23 traders come. We traded up to 40-50% of the declared prices on this and that. For example, a pack of 10 cigars with a humidifier was dropped from 25 to $12-13. Pendant with stone from 30 to $15.
True, already in Russia, the wife rubbed the “silver” with alcohol - the silver moved away and a less noble metal appeared behind it.
Therefore, it will not be superfluous to take vodka to a meeting with a merchant to check the goods and the seller for lice.
We did not go on any excursions. Of those who went to Saona, one woman, when questioned, pretended to like it, but did not hide her disappointment well, while the other couple spoke honestly about the minuses, such as, for example, that a short section of the seabed is sandy at first, and then corals, shells - all scratched.
There are two shops on the outskirts of the hotel. Initially, a pseudo Russian store called Katyusha. Immediately behind it is the wretched-looking shop of our compatriot Konstantin.
Poorly owning in. moving, lovers of cats, dogs (especially puppies) and free wi-fi, I recommend Kostya's store. Everyone has a similar assortment, but Kostya's wife found more of what she needed.
Wi-fi is generally a salvation, because. Internet in the hotel is paid and quite expensive $4 - 30 minutes, 6 - 1 hour, 10 - a day, 40 - a week, 60 - two.
The trainer at the gym was offering $25 a week for less.

By the way, if you want to go to the gym, don't forget your running shoes. In slippers and sandals, the path is ordered.
On the beach and by the pools, workers walk all the time offering excursions, especially what they singsongly called “Boogie”: driving in open cars through the water, through the mud.
A friend went - she did not like being dirty.
Photographers look around: one day they offer a photo session near a palm tree, another photo with a small monkey or two cockatoos.
Of the minuses: the room, like someone in the review, is "shabby", in need of repair. The bathtub is rusty in places, the enamel on the toilet bowl has also peeled off at the place where the water flows. Not good for a five star hotel. As I understand it, the situation varies depending on the case. There are cases and newer ones. Two were completed with us. As the British said, with a cat. communicated (they are in Sirenis for the second time), it would be possible to ask for another number, but we looked at it through our fingers, because the rest of the pluses offset this minus, and they didn’t come to sit in the room.
There are also VIPs, the cat. sunbeds on the beach are stationary type of beds, and in the rooms with their words “bigger TV, everything’s cleaner”.
The room was cleaned regularly, but often they forgot to put the due soap, shampoo, water (underline as necessary). The locals are relaxed people. But this is not a problem. If something is missing, say in the lobby - they will bring you to your room.
Useful utensils included an iron and ironing board. The wife was helpful.
More email. coffee pot, but did not use - there was enough coffee in the restaurant. As the maid once put a bag of ground coffee, so he lay - they took him to Russia as a souvenir.
Do not bother with adapters from our plug to an American one - the socket in the room is universal.
Our case (Cocotal E) has an unfortunate location, because there was a concert hall nearby and our ears were delighted with the melodies and rhythms of the stage, regardless of our desire.

There was no animation for children in the hotel. Maybe I didn't search well.
The guide warned not to leave the hotel, because. the people in the Dominican Republic, although friendly, are not rich (especially the local "Tajiks" - Haitians) and armed.
One Englishman, on the contrary, assured that there was nothing wrong with independent travel: you take a taxi for $ 30 - the driver as a personal escort.
