These are two hotels in the same area. Cocotal and Tropical.
I bought a suite - in Tropical (there are only junior suites). Tranaero flight, tour operator Tranaero tour.
The hotel is located in the town of Uvero Alto, perhaps the most distant from the airport (1.5-2 hours drive). But this does not diminish it in any way in the rating of hotels in the Bavaro resort area.
The flight went well - there 12 hours, back a little less.
I will note the good work of both Tranaero (as an air carrier) and the tour operator Tranaero tour (good guides, both transfer and hotel, special thanks to Nikolai, a guide to the capital of Santo Domingo).
1. Settlement - fast (arrival was in the evening), so they immediately handed out cards from the rooms and cards for towels.
2. Rooms. Junior suite - a two-room suite with a bedroom and a living room. Quite a decent room with two large beds (not squeaky and soft). Two TVs (one plasma). Minibar (free of charge, updated every day! ) The bathroom is normal - everything you need was also updated (gels, shampoos, soap). There is a coffee machine and coffee, tea, sugar, mugs. Enjoyed. There were 9 towels in my room! and blue (beach) 2 pcs. I don’t know why so many (I write as it is). There is a safe (for a fee), but I didn’t use it. Sometimes I forgot to close the suitcase - nothing disappeared! Cleaned every day, did not leave a tip (chocolate "Alenka" gives joy to people!! ! - left with a note for the maid). There are no complaints about the room service. The air conditioning worked and the ceiling fan too. Everything is fine. It should be noted that the hotel is located in buildings (Tropical 15 two-story buildings). I lived O -108. It's 3rd street - next to the pool. Good number.
3. The territory of the hotel. Quite large and guarded (however, like all the hotels there). Many restaurants, bars, a huge pool has a broken shape with bridges and different in depth, there are two jacuzzi pools. VERY beautiful and lush vegetation. In general, there are no dry shrubs or palm trees, flowers - everything is cleaned every day, the paths are washed, the garbage is taken out - in general, everything pleases the eye! There are peacocks - in the main building (at the reception) and near buildings A, B - they are often can be seen in the morning before breakfast walking and publishing "pathetic singing".
The pool is cleaned every morning. There are two bars by the pool, which is convenient - take a cocktail without leaving the water. There are a lot of sunbeds and umbrellas! You don’t need to take a seat at 6 am - people came up only at 9-10 am, after breakfast. And that's enough for everyone! Towels are issued in the same place - by the pool. I put 5 for the territory.
4. Restaurants. Didn't count. There are many of them, except for the main one. I will say right away - the choice is huge! There is everything for every taste. No one was poisoned, everything is fresh and well thermally processed.
Local drinks are good (wine, cocktails, beer). If you overslept, did not have time to have breakfast - a restaurant by the pool opens at 10 am - everything is the same there. Don't wake up hungry! By the way, there was an early excursion - I had breakfast at 6 am - the restaurant is open!
There are a lot of fruits, super ice cream, a lot of different meats, fresh and steamed vegetables, soups and grilled meat. Baking. Sushi (6 types). Fresh juices in the morning (from the pulp of fruits with ice). Amazing cottage cheese, cheese, yogurts! Rating 5! .
5. Beach. A very long strip of fine coral sand (yellow) - but does not heat up like quartz sand (on the north coast). The beach is long, lots of sunbeds in a grove of coconut palms.
The beach is cleaned in the morning - respect. Due to the presence of a coral reef, waves from the ocean do not reach the shore - the reef dampens them. This is a big plus!! ! Swimming in the warm water of the ocean is a real pleasure. By the way, if you go left to the beach of the neighboring hotel - you can see red flags there - swimming is prohibited! Three-meter waves simply do not allow you to enter the water.
So the beach is also in order!
6. Animation is awesome! There is something to compare (Egypt). I will not describe here, but every day and evening there was always something new for hotel guests. The evening program is very personal.
I didn't visit everything, but my friends went every evening - they are happy!
7. Water park - on the territory of the hotel is large and there are many slides. For us, admission is free (there was a promotion from our tour operator), and for a week a ticket is $ 120. Slides are good, new. swimming pools, sun loungers, food and drinks for free. I put 5.
8. Shops - there are almost none at the hotel! two and the prices there are more expensive than in the capital or in Duty Free. This is an oversight, as the hotel is located in isolation. So the purchases had to be made in the capital - Santo Domingo.
9. Excursions. There are a lot of them (if you are interested - write - I saved their description and prices). BUT! Crazy expensive!! ! from 100 to 700 $/
Although they are worth it. I visited Saona - an island in the Caribbean - a stunning azure sea and snow-white soft sand! It's worth seeing in life! $100. And I visited the capital of Santo Domingo for $130 / Very interesting and informative - thanks again to the guide Nikalai! I also bought rum and coffee there. Prices are cheap. . . 15 year old rum - $17, coffee - $10 per 500 gr. I recommend. Tours take all day! please note. but all with meals (buffet). The choice is yours, depending on what interests you.

If you are a positive person and fly to rest in a good mood, then you are unlikely to find fault with some little things that do not spoil your vacation. Therefore, I did not describe them in the review. It is ridiculous to write that the TV remote control was cracked, and the tiles bathtub in the false ceiling of the room lived a triton - this does not affect your rest in any way! The main thing is that the rest was a success and I flew away with a lot of great emotions and good mood. I wish you the same!
