We planned to stay in Tallinn for the 3rd day, we already had the experience of staying in two other hotels of different categories (see my reviews of the City Hotel and Ulemiste). And we already imagined something about the city. Where is it located and where would it be more convenient to live.

We might have stayed in the not very conveniently located, but otherwise very comfortable Ulemiste hotel for another day. But at a reasonable price (70 euros) there was not another day. The price tag went for 100 euros for some reason.
And we had to look for the third night, the third hotel.

And we quickly found it through the compare system, which had already pleased us. hotels. su (she searches both Booking. com and Otel. com and several others).

This time, the hotel that suited us in all respects was found to be the cheapest on Otel. com.
This was vonStackelberg (83 euros per night, and the euro exchange rate at that moment was 40 rubles).
There were options a little cheaper and also nothing, but we were especially pleased that the 90k bus goes from Ulemiste (read Airport and bus station - it passes them all) and drives straight to the doors of VonStackelberg.

By the way, the bus passes at the same time and the railway station, and the next stop is near VonStackelberg.
The next day we planned to go by eurolines (bus) to Riga from the bus station. So it was very convenient for us.
That is, the transport accessibility of the hotel is very good.

Now about the hotel
------------------
LOCATION
------------------
It is located very close to the Old City, if you look at the map, then from above the old city.
From the hotel there are two options to get to it (Old Town).
One is to go right and go up the hill.
The second is to go straight down the hill through the park, past the lake, along the fortress walls (they will be on the right) and enter the Old Town after 5-7 minutes of walking (the entrance will be on the right, respectively).
I want to say that the second option, in my opinion, is more pleasant.
Just do not try to climb the steep stairs to the observation platforms on the fortress walls along the way. From inside the old city, this is much easier to do. Moreover, observation platforms are interesting only towards the bay. And towards the new part of the city - so-so.

You can also take a walk from the hotel to the shopping center "Solaris", where there is a pleasant coffee shop on the 5th floor with panoramic windows to the Old Town.
Even Solaris'a can be almost reached by trolley bus, and a little walk (trolley bus stop to the right of the hotel).

----------------
Zen hotel
----------------
The hotel positions itself for some reason as a zen or spa or something else soothing. Apart from a massage in the basement, pleasant interiors (white, beige, dark brown, stone, wood) and bamboo plates with stones on the windowsill of the room, I did not find anything "zen" in the hotel.
Massage, by the way, at rather speculative (even in the opinion of a Muscovite) prices.
Therefore, we did not try

In the evenings, it seems that some kind of live music is even playing in the restaurant, almost jazz. But usually at this time everyone is walking around the old city, so it's hard to say what's playing there ))

Although there is a restaurant in the basement, and there is in the courtyard (the courtyard is decorated in the style of a roadside tavern or something like that, wooden gates, tables, etc. ).
In general, it's also nice to sit there.
By the way, our breakfast was not included in the room rate.

-----------------
ROOM
-----------------
We had a room on the 1st floor overlooking a fairly busy intersection during the day. But in the evening it gets much quieter. And in general, this did not prevent us from sleeping normally with the windows closed.
There is air conditioning.
But it was already quite cool outside, despite August.

First there were some questions about the curtains. They are almost transparent. And people walk down the street actually looking into the room.
Especially in the evening - the room turns into an aquarium, from the point of view of street passers-by))
Not immediately, but the problem was quickly resolved - a roller blind was found high above the window. She hides in there quite inconspicuously.

The bed was a queen size, normal.
There was a kettle and safe in the room. And even a monitor with the Internet. TV set. It seems that some kind of channel was Russian, but there, as usual (against the background of foreign channels), something very depressing was going on, and we didn’t really linger on our channel.

We had a laptop with us - free wifi is also good.

What else was there in the room ...there was a closet.
There was also a mini-bar, but it seemed to me that it was a bit expensive.

The rest of the number as a number. I would say even a little ascetic.

We were allowed late check out at 14-00 without any problems
The bathroom is small.
The bathroom has a shower (without a tray, right on the floor, which I personally like more) with glass doors. The shower is not very roomy, but tolerable.
But here's the sink - it's beyond.
She is very tiny. Washing in it and brushing your teeth or shaving is completely inconvenient.
In general, everything in the room is good, except for the sink.
There is a hair dryer.

But overall the hotel is great.

-------------
staff, check-in, check-out
------------
We didn't interact with anyone other than the front desk.
The girl at the reception is quite phlegmatic.
In Russian, he pretends not to understand (although almost all Estonians understand everything perfectly).
But he speaks English quite fluently.
And so everything is ok.
Late check out at 14-00 for free without any problems.

Checked in with a voucher paid in advance through otel. com
Therefore, the check-out took 30 seconds. I handed over my room key cards and we bowed nicely.

I didn't even print the voucher for the check-in.
It was on the laptop, of course. But no one asked me.
I identified myself, filled out a form, entered my debit card number (for minibar disputes), received the keys. The whole check-in took a couple of minutes.
He actually in Europe usually takes so much.
The longest check-in I had was in Riga at Maritim.
And that's because of the queue.

-------------
FOOD in the hotel
------------
As I said, we didn't have breakfast.
Since we were leaving for Riga in the morning, there were two options - to go eat at the Solaris shopping center (there are more buses to the bus station and they run more often)
Or eat at the hotel. We decided to eat at the hotel. What can I say.
The kitchen in general is nothing, for two it came out to eat 30 euros.

The Palace Hotel in Tartu is excellently located, the hotel offers a wonderful view of the city. Glass from floor to ceiling. Big cozy room. Breakfast is more modest and you have to go down to the cafe. But the impressions are very good. I recommend!
