Spent a week in Golden Paradise. For the eleventh time in Hurghada, I lived in both strong network "fives" and killed "twos", I have some experience. For Golden Paradise, I will say this - this is an excellent choice, but... under two small conditions. Firstly, choose Paradise as a budget option if the tour is inexpensive (I paid $300 for a week for one with a flight, all inclusive, no water park), and secondly, you will like Paradise if you are determined to enjoy your vacation, and not look for disadvantages (of which there are, of course, enough). And now in order.
1) The location of the hotel is quite good. South of the city, from the airport by taxi - 10-15 minutes. Bus transfer, even with a stop at other hotels - half an hour. If there is a desire to go to the city in the evening, it is not difficult to go out onto the road and catch a minibus. Everything is pretty close: about 15 minutes by minibus to El Mamsha, 20 minutes to the Sheraton, half an hour to Sakkala, respectively, another 10-15 minutes to the Marina and the Old Town. By taxi to the El Mamsha promenade, in general, 7-10 minutes (ask to be taken to Steigenberger Al Dau). Near Paradise along the shore there are several large beach hotels and, accordingly, shopping arcades lined up along the road, where life is more or less glimmering in the evening. In any case, for the sake of shopping, it is definitely not necessary to go to El Mamsha or Sakkala - there are a lot of shops in the Golden area for every taste and budget. There are a couple of restaurants - say, the fish "Starfish" is quite good and very close to the "Pyramid" (the entrance to the Goloden 5 complex).
2) The territory is very large, even huge (most of the tourists for the whole holiday will not go around it all). Once the Golden Five was a giant resort "supermarket", where several hotels with different concepts, but using a common infrastructure, were brought together into a single complex. Today, some of the hotels are closed and are in a state of either conservation or sluggish repairs. Paradise and Emerald work, and little by little they begin to settle in Diamond's bungalow. Previously, tourists could use any bars and restaurants throughout the complex - now everyone has their own. I heard a version that this happened after the death of the founder of the complex (he had an accident), the heirs can not divide the complex in any way and "pulled" it literally. Fortunately, the fences have not yet been put up and you can walk almost everywhere. The territory is huge and mostly well-groomed. There are shady palm alleys, all kinds of bushes, flowers. A lot of stupid (as for me) spaces made of asphalt and some ridiculous structures. A large artificial lagoon, unfortunately not suitable for swimming. There is a water park (new) and the ruins of an old water park, which is being dismantled for some reason). A huge space in front of the Paradise building, which comes to life only for half an hour a day during the show of dancing fountains. As a person who chooses a hotel, including the presence of promenades for morning jogging, I am very pleased with Paradise - there is where to roam...

3) Sports. The fitness center in Paradise is very tired, but, in principle, everything you need for training is here - both simulators and free weights. No cardio. Everything is a little dirty and tattered. There is even a certain charm in the format of the "Harlem" rocking chair. The only negative is that the hall opens at 10:00 and closes at 17:00, i. е. you need to spend "beach" time on a rocking chair. In the "Hilton" the rocking chair works around the clock. . . oh yes, every time you relax in Paradise, you will remind yourself that you are here on the Hitlon : ) In addition to the rocking chair, the complex has a tennis court, a volleyball court and, in principle, a mustache. For windsurfing, the place is not the best, and there is nowhere to dive near the hotel - as such, there is no reef here...
4) Beach. It is long (more than a kilometer). In some places a very convenient sandy entrance. Fields of dead corals in places. Corals are fenced with buoys. The decrease to the depth is smooth. There is also a place for children to swim, and adults. I didn’t see hedgehogs near the beach (there are trochs further into the sea). Some kind of life is glimmering near the dead reef islands near the shore, fish swim up, there are moray eels, a couple of times quite large stingrays lay in shallow water. If you sail further into the sea, there are beautiful fish, the same lionfish. Seaward and to the south, towards Rimavera, two medium-sized turtles were seen. In general, snorkeling near Paradise is interesting - there is a flat sandy bottom and scattered reef islands, the more seaward, the livelier and brighter. Far from Dahab, but I would not call the sea completely dead. The beach itself is comfortable - sand, sun loungers (enough for everyone), umbrellas, showers - everything is there. The best part of the beach ("far beach)" of some devil is fenced off and only visitors to the water park are allowed there (which is paid). This is a minus and disgusting both on the part of the administration of the complex, and on the part of tour operators, who "forget" to say this in their prospectuses. I entered this beach very simply - I told the guard at the entrance that if he did not let me in, I would call the police to figure out why the beach of the hotel where I was relaxing was blocked. It can be seen that not everything is clean there, because after a phone call the security guard let me through and never stopped me again. However, the value of the beach is only in a convenient entrance to the water. On the shore, the beach is very littered - it is clear that it is never cleaned. On the surf line are just piles of garbage thrown by the surf. Accordingly, if visitors to the water park go to "their" beach, then once and for a long time they do not linger on it.
5) The water park is cool. This is actually even two water parks - for children and for adults. Some of the slides are so breathtaking. Nice place. A small nuance - the water park is paid (which is quite reasonable). For some tourists, the cost of visiting the water park is initially included in the tour ($ 5 per person per night of stay at the hotel), for some it is not. For me, for example, the second option is even more convenient, since I did not spend all the days at the hotel). The only unpleasant thing is that the tour operator "forgot" to inform that the water park is paid separately. The advertisement of the tour explicitly states that the water park is still "on".
6) About food "all-inclusive". The food at the hotel is not bad, but not great either. The average. You won't starve, but don't expect special pickles. Breakfasts are standard, for lunch and dinner there is always fish, often a kind of veal goulash, chicken in portions, there are meat rolls or just ham. For European taste there is always potatoes, mashed and fried, sometimes in Irish style (with skin). There is pasta, stewed vegetables. In a word, it is extremely problematic to die of hunger. Sad with fruits - melon, oranges, tangerines, dates. All. I don’t eat sweets, but, compared to other hotels, there are fewer of them in terms of variety. The restaurant itself is good. The chefs are trying. The waiters promptly clean everything (drinks are not delivered). Yes, there are queues, in the morning for scrambled eggs and pancakes, in the evening for ham or chicken stew. But this is not a problem of the kitchen, but of tourists who massively rush to the restaurant before the opening. The Chinese are especially different. But that's it. The restaurant in Paradise is doing fine. Bars too, but there are nuances...

7). The hotel has four bars - near the reception, in the billiard room, by the pool and on the beach. Which in the building are perfect for everyone - comfortable sofas, normal wi-fi (a bit overloaded in the evenings), glass glasses. And they don't run out of drinks as often as street bars. For on the beach and at the pool they pour into tiny plastic glasses and drinks are constantly running out. First, beer, then maybe the cola will run out, or, say, rum. Of course, the bartenders are not to blame for this and it's sad to watch when tourists start to scold them. . .
8) A tourist in Paradise can be different. Most of ours, from Ukraine. The hotel is designed for a budget holiday, so the tourist here is budget, with all the consequences. They can sometimes behave in a simple way. However, against the background of "fraternal" peoples, ours look even more or less tolerant. Where do so many Russians come from in Egyptian hotels, I understood at the Hurghada airport when I saw the line to board the Hurghada-Antalya flight. Not a single Turk. They began to fly around in circles. While there are not many of them, they simply surprise, for example, by trying to buy whiskey for any money at 7 in the morning (local bartenders meet halfway). It is very noisy in the evening, especially around midnight, when they begin to demand that the bartenders give each of them ten glasses of tequila, with a margin, since alcohol in the bar is paid from midnight. When there are a lot of "them", it will be sad. There are also many Chinese in Paradise, who, however, do not sunbathe and do not swim (with rare exceptions), but during breakfast there are unbearably many of them : ). There are many Germans in the hotel. But, since they behave very quietly, you can find out about their availability only from the lists of tour operators for departure. They are unable to outshout the chorus of Chelyabinsk and Borshchagovsk in a bar or near the pool. There are a lot of Belarusians. Tellingly, some Belarusians get to Hurghada through Ukrainian tour operators. And Minsk flights to Egypt are clogged with Russians, and more expensive, according to reviews. Depending on their views, Belarusians adjoin either "Tagil" or "Borschagovka", more often the former. Also in the hotel there are Arabs, often young families. Very cultured people. There are a few Poles and Czechs. The British were even noticed, they booked a hotel on booking. com. But, basically, the tourist in the hotel is ours. So get ready. For example, listening to endless complaints about bad rooms. . .
nine). The hotel rooms are ok. Large, light, comfortable. Yes, a little tired, that's true. The plumbing works. Yes, in the evening, when the sun has just set, the water pressure on the 4th and 5th floors can be weak - everyone returned from the beach and rushed to wash before dinner. The carpets (yes, there are solid carpets on the floor! ) are faded and may have stains or scuffs in places. The fact that the rooms are a bit dark in the evening is a feature of the local lighting - they do not make ceiling lights in the rooms, it is considered that this is a bedroom! Large wardrobes, there is a simple safe. Desk. Large balconies. Large viewing windows. Good views. Modern plasma TVs with a minimal set of channels (I found only the BBC from English). One or two paintings on the wall. Air conditioners are noisy, it makes sense to turn them off at night. Refrigerators work silently (not even in all 5s in Egypt this happens). Shampoos, gels, toilet paper, mineral water bring. The bed (snow-white sheets! ) is remade, they are changed to a fresh one every few days. Tea sets (kettle, tea, coffee, sugar, cream and cups) may not be in all rooms, if you really need them - tell the reception and they will put them in your room. For example, I refused, because I was not going to spend all the time in the room...
10) You can spend time in Paradise in different ways. In addition to eating food and drinking the meager supplies of bars, most of the time the local tourist spends on the beach or by the pools. The hotel has a couple of cool pools, both for adults and for children. In the evening, people hang out at the bar, closer to the Wi-Fi. Mini disco for kids is standard, but the kids are delighted with it. At 9 o'clock every evening they include a program of dancing fountains for 20 minutes. Pretty good. I remember there were times when people from all over Hurghada were taken to this show (then it was an hour-long one and cost $30 per person to watch). Also at 21:00, programs in the billiard room begin - standard: fakir show, karaoke, Mr. and Mistriz hotel, oriental dances, Nubian dances - everything is like everywhere else.

eleven). To sum up. . . Don't believe when they tell you that the hotel is terrible. No, it's even worse! If you are used to wrinkling your nose on a crumpled napkin in Rixos, if the audience in Al Daw seems too plebeian to you, and you are used to Baron hotels - do not go to Paradise. You won't like it here. Active people with healthy outlooks on life can do well here. If for a small price - the place is excellent. Recommend.
