Hello! The decision to relax in Egypt for the New Year holidays came spontaneously, a trip to a travel agency and, behold, we have the cherished vouchers in our hands.
Rested in Egypt for the first time, in this hotel were from 01/06/2014 to 01/16/2014 three of us with friends. We arrived in the afternoon, around 12 local time, when we checked into the room, they invested some money in our passports ($ 15), apparently that's why they settled us almost immediately, and not after 14.00. I got a room on the ground floor with a sea view, although this sea is about 500 meters away. The room is certainly not 5 *, the furniture is old, the carpets are incomprehensible stains, but in general everything is not so bad, given that we almost only spent the night in the room, the rest of the time we spent either on the beach or on excursions. Upon check-in, immediately check whether all the lamps are working, the integrity of the mirrors and balcony glass, and if something is wrong, immediately report it to the reception. From the room you could immediately go to the beach through the balcony, thereby bypassing annoying merchants, of which there were enough in the hotel. The bedding, as it seemed to us, was not changed during the entire stay, but the towels were changed, toilet paper, drinking water (with water, as I saw the reviews here, we had no problems, on the contrary, when we checked out, there were 5 bottles of water left for 0.5, thanks for that to Mahmoud, our cleaner) have always been. In the early days there was no hot water, instead an incomprehensible brown liquid flowed. As I already said, Mahmoud, a positive person, cleaned the room, every day they left him a baksheesh, $ 1-2, cleaned everything in the room, twisted various figurines from towels, nothing was lost from the room. By the way, if more than two people are traveling with you, it will be more convenient with several keys, at the reception you can ask for a second key.
Food. We arrived on the 6th in the morning, and in the evening the so-called Christmas dinner was waiting for us. Christmas dinner, for which we paid $ 50 per person, stupidly consisted of dishes that were served in Ala Carte restaurants, the program was boring, in general, we didn’t particularly like it and hurriedly retreated. As for food, there was meat or fish every day, rice, pasta, a lot of different pastries, sweets, in principle, everyone will find what they like.

Ala Carte Restaurants. We signed up without any problems, yes, there were no places a couple of times, but still we managed to visit almost everything except Turkish and mixed cuisine. Liked German and Italian. But in Russian they generally gave the same thing as at a regular dinner.
Alcohol. As they wrote here, I would not advise drinking anything other than beer. All "strong" alcohol is locally produced, diluted and has a specific aftertaste. I advise you to take alcohol with you from the dutik.
The sea is what everyone comes here for. The sea was magnificent, the water was warm, clean, although the reefs were dead, but the marine fauna was present in large numbers. At first the weather was windy (although this is normal for the beginning of January), and it was not very comfortable to get out of the water, but in the middle of the rest the weather returned to normal, the wind died down, and the temperature crept up. There is also a heated pool, a few simple slides. The pool is clean and well maintained. During the day you can swim in the sea, and in the late afternoon move to the pool with warm water. The beach is not bad, relatively clean, the entry into the sea, however, is not always sandy and rather gentle, we had to stomp far to the waist deep in the water, but mothers and children were happy.
The sellers of excursions on the beach really annoyed us with their offers, we didn’t buy anything from them, we also didn’t buy excursions from our guide Pegasus, because. expensive. Excursions were bought from a guide, who was found on the reviews from this site, his name is Mohamed. His prices were an order of magnitude lower than those of the tour operator, but it should be remembered that, in fact, no one is responsible for you. With Mohamed, we went on an individual tour of Luxor-Dendera. Unlike other guides, Mohamed speaks excellent Russian, his speech is clear and intelligible, so it was interesting for us to listen to him. By the way, he gave us a substantial discount on this excursion. We also took super safari, diving and El Gouna from him. We liked all the excursions and passed without incident. If you go to El Gouna, then do not take the beer "Sahara" touted by them, because. the same beer can be bought on the beach at the hotel, and cheaper.

I didn't like the discos held at the hotel - there was boring music and few people. The animation on the beach was and was not bad enough, the animators tried to entertain the crowd of vacationers to the maximum. Souvenirs were bought in a supermarket near the hotel (as you exit the pyramid, immediately to the left, 200 meters), where merchants did not annoy and there was an opportunity to choose gifts calmly.
In general, for the money that we paid, we rested one hundred percent, which is what I wish everyone!
