I'll tell you a little about our stay in Hurghada at the Coral Beach Rotana Resort 4*+. I stayed in this hotel with my girlfriend for 10 days at the end of November 2011. The weather is excellent +24+26, though it is cool at night, up to +18.
Before arriving at the hotel, of course, we chose for a long time, weighed, looked where it was better both in terms of location and price, and in terms of price-quality ratio, in general, we tried to take into account all kinds of factors, and the fact that many fives in Egypt are not much different from good fours, and they demand more money.
Initially, we considered the Makkadi Bay area, but, having studied the hotels there, this area seemed to us bald in greenery and not so good in terms of location to civilization, but we also wanted to visit Hurghada, walk along the streets and shops.
As a result, we decided on the Coral Beach Rotana Resort 4 * + hotel in the Hurghada area according to the following parameters:
one). We were very interested in a good beach with corals, and here we were not 100% mistaken - the beach, about a kilometer long, has an interesting structure and curves, lagoons with calm water, so to speak (so that it would be normal for children to swim); not a long spacious pontoon with direct access to the corals; the coastline is quite smooth, and you can freely enter the sea and from the shore, not only from the pontoon, and swim to the corals, which are not far from the shore, but preferably, of course, in special slippers, because a lot of hedgehogs live in corals and step on them not at all desirable. So, armed with slippers, masks and snorkels, we studied for an hour, or even more, all the most picturesque marine flora and fauna. This beauty is definitely something to look for! Amazing fish! I highly recommend! We were very satisfied with the beach area.
2). We were also very interested in the size of the hotel. We did not want large buildings, we wanted to see the world and picturesque landscapes, and the Coral Beach Hotel just consisted of all one-story houses, very pleasant in their structure. In addition, we were completely satisfied with the size of the hotel. On a huge area, about 80 thousand sq. m. Everything you need is spacious. Bungalows are located between winding paths. The hotel has a lot of greenery and plantings, plants are rarely repeated and it seems that walking around the territory, you are like in a botanical garden. Everything is very beautiful and colorful. We practically re-photographed with each plant.
By the way, it should be noted that all this beauty opens purely on the territory of the hotel, because earlier, when we just drove up to the hotel, we were somewhat puzzled by the desert landscape in front of the hotel itself from the side of the street and began to worry a little, but everything was fine behind the reception, it opened before us is a beautiful oasis.
3). Rooms (double) in the hotel were very spacious and good, all with balconies. Rooms for cleanliness, tidiness and furnishings meet more than the level of "4". Especially we were very pleasantly surprised by the two spacious beds, each of them would really fit three people freely. Everything is very clean, the beds and towels are clean, everything is cleaned and cleaned every day regularly. Animals have never been seen.
Arriving at the hotel, we put $ 20 in our passport and asked politely to pick up a very good room for us (we were very pleased in the end). We had a reserved room not see view, but we dared to ask for a see view. We were culturally answered that, unfortunately, all these views are booked, but they will try to do something. As a result, we were settled on the second line of bungalows (and there are about five or six of them in total), and our house was located in such a way that there was still a view of the sea, but between two bungalows of the first line. It should be noted that, in principle, see view rooms should not be taken at all and overpaid for them, because from the first line of bungalows to the sea there is still a wide strip of incomprehensible purpose (maybe they are going to make a golf course there, maybe it is intended for some local jeep safari is not yet clear), so the sea itself is far enough from the first line for a see view, and if there is wind, then the first line will just take over everything, so you have to think about whether this one is needed first line.
4). The whole cultural life of the hotel is mainly concentrated in the middle, right behind the reception. The main restaurant is also located there.
The food in the restaurant is quite varied. They cook delicious. Throughout the time we tried to try a little bit of everything and for all the time we were especially tired of nothing. For breakfast, the chefs especially tasty prepare a variety of omelettes and egg dishes, for lunch there is an extensive selection of fish and meat dishes. Not once in all the time, none of us suffered from a stomach! Having met other tourists who already often travel to different hotels in Hurghada and have been to the same hotel more than once, we learned that in Coral Beach everything is really very good with food, but in other hotels there were very often precedents with poisoning and other troubles.
5). The hotel is intended in its mass for family vacations. I must say that on the third day we became somewhat bored, because the animation was rather weak in the evenings and more focused on inviting artists for evening shows from outside. But then, having got used to the area, we discovered the most excellent place for evening leisure. This place was Cafe Al Zaeem. Almost all the evenings we spent only in this excellent institution! Cafe Al Zaeem, as it turned out quite recently, was sold to other owners who have a truly modern outlook on life, which affected both the new surroundings and decor of this glorious place, and the services offered by this cafe. Life has changed before our eyes in a completely new way!
The pleasant home decor practically made you feel cozy and comfortable. The cafe was transformed almost before our eyes and soon we were able to experience the beauty of evening entertainment. The animators' shows were discontinued and all evening performances were relocated to this cafe. In fact, it was very pleasant, after dinner, relaxing to smoke a hookah, drink cocktails and contemplate the updated bright show programs at Cafe Al Zaeem. Service is pleasant, not intrusive. What I liked is that the Slovenian people are really welcome in this hotel, without any ulterior motives. Highly recommend visiting Al Zaeem.
6). On its territory, Coral Beach has a number of shops, with almost everything you might need. Having been in Hurghada, and comparing local prices with prices in hotel shops, we were pleasantly surprised that the hotel prices are even lower. We did something stupid earlier, not knowing the prices in hotel shops before, we went to Hurghada. In addition to spending 10 dollars on a taxi back and forth, they bought perfume oil there, as a result, it turned out to be cheaper at the hotel.
True, later we became regular guests of the perfume shop at the glorious seller of Aladdin, where you can relax in a pleasant company of other vacationers, and chat enough, and get profitable discounts, and drink tea three times just like that.
There is another nice option of these stores. Having got acquainted with the sellers, as for example with Aladdin, then, in order not to spend money on trips to the city, we simply asked them to bring fruits, such as mangoes, or whatever else we were interested in. And all this in the end turns out to be profitable, because they are sold in the city cheaper than us, of course. So you can always agree.
7). I was also pleasantly surprised by the local alcohol. Egyptian alcohol is much better and stronger than Turkish! Egyptian beer is also nice. When I didn’t want to get out once again from Cafe Al Zaeem to the lobby bar for cocktails, they mostly consumed it there for little money, and in my opinion, the alcohol that is sold in this cafe is not at all from the category of local alcohol, but better. Where they take - I did not have time to find out.
eight). Most of the staff at the hotel are pleasant and not intrusive. Service in Egypt, for example, I liked more than in Turkey, everything is not very intrusive. No one is pulling anywhere, no pulling hands, there is no hard marketing either, which is nice.
In the end, I will say that this Coral Beach foursome is very worth going to. We really enjoyed! Recommend. Basically, I liked everything and the impressions were great! And in general, it’s worth going to Egypt, because such an option as the Red Sea with all the unprecedented colorful fish is an indescribable sight, not at all like the “dead” Mediterranean.
