Egypt is a country of contrasts or a picky report.

Prologue.
Here are literally my first impressions of our hotel ROTANA CORAL BEACH. They were written immediately after the settlement. As you know, the first impression is almost always the best, BUT! ...
"A scribe called rotana... "
I am currently here. We just arrived today. Full report, rest assured, leave after departure. Although they will probably get banned. If you think to go to Rotana or not, neh ......do it here. Of course, it’s indecent to swear on the air, but I don’t have normal words. We settled in for about an hour, although we arrived after dinner (the ordered rooms should be free), they gave the key, things were brought after another 40 minutes. One key for three adults. They don't even give money. Restaurant - bl ....like dining room N 12 of the city of Uryupinsk. There is a lot of food (although there is not much choice), but the queue is a complete scribe. And this is in a hotel that positions itself as 4+.

P. S. If you are a resident of Nizhny Tagil, you will like it.
For people who have been anywhere, the advice is don't waste your money. This hotel pulls a maximum of 3.
P. S. 2. For snotty and slobbery reviews like "...we were there - we liked it ... ", the words of the classic - "to whom the bride is a mare. "
P. S. 3. I sincerely hope that I will change my opinion about the hotel. Until I go to bed angry.
P. S. 4. I don’t drink much alcohol, so I can’t fill my grief. "
10 days have passed. On April 11 late at night we arrived home in Kaliningrad and I can finally write a full report on our vacation in April 2013.
Part 1. Horror called "PEGAS".
At first I wanted to call this part "Freaks from PEGAS TOURISTIK", but I thought they would cut it and paraphrased it a little. The devil made us contact Pegas, aka PEGAS TOURISTIK, for one simple reason. Feeling like seasoned, seasoned tourists, we booked our tour for two months, paying 100% of the cost. We chose between different tour operators. We counted on 11-12 days complete rest.

Naturally, many tours were offered, but among all we chose not the cheapest, but the most suitable one, as it seemed to us. Early arrival (about 9 am) to Hurghada and late departure (about 20 pm back). In principle, it is logical not to lose days of rest. Other tour operators offered a significantly late departure (arrival in Hurghada in the evening and, accordingly, an early flight back). The difference in price was about 1.000 rubles. (this is understandable, 5-6 extra rations for three people, bars, etc. ). We even received a documentary (Internet) confirmation of the booking at the specified time. However, two days before departure, we are informed about the change in departure time, i. e. we fly out in the afternoon (in Hurghada, respectively, in the evening), and the return flight is in the morning. I confess, I was taken aback. That is, we were shod in the most impudent way, and this was not done by some left-wing company, but by one, as it seemed to us at that time, from the most powerful tour operators.
Due to the corrosiveness of my character, I personally phoned the Moscow office of Pegasus, where they sent me safely to x ... , explaining that, like, charter times can change without notice. To my logical question "...And the money paid for early arrival and late departure ....? " I was also sent to x ...(to the company where we took the tour). The company shrugged their shoulders, saying that they could not do anything, since the tour operator decided so. Does anyone understand my condition? Probably, not. This is the first part of the Marlezon ballet called "Horror called" PEGAS ", the final of which has not yet arrived. Naturally, there will be a claim, the results of which I will report. Probably, we would forget about this situation, since rest is rest, there are many emotions and blah blah blah But the staff of "PEGAS" continued to surprise us already in the hotel. Initially, our hotel guide was Evgenia, a phlegmatic girl who got tired not only of her work, but also of tourists.
As it turned out, PEGAS TOURISTIK earns not only on the transportation of tourists, but also on completely frostbitten prices for excursions in Egypt. On the second day after arrival, all (! ) without exception, tourists in an obsessive form - intimidation, persuasion - are offered all kinds of trips, excursions, entertainment, etc. d. They talk about Egypt. uprising, about Bedouins with machine guns, about the fact that there are deceivers around, and so on. But Pegasus - holy people, they will do everything beautifully - they will take them, bring them, lick them, kiss them on the f ...y. Only the price of these services differs by 2 times in comparison with the real cost (but more on that later). If a person does not buy excursions from the PEGAS TOURISTIK hotel guide, then this client automatically becomes uninteresting. Pretty much the same happened to us. During the holiday, we only twice decided to disturb the hotel. guide, as a result - 0. My unequivocal conclusion is the following - the task of the hotel. guide not to solve your problems, but to break off your claims in the bud.
Naturally, PEGAS TOURISTIK does not want to quarrel with its hotel partners and your claims are neatly (or not very) rounded off.

But the key chord of the actions of the PEGAS TOURISTIK employees (at the end of our vacation they were Valentina and Irina, no less indifferent than Evgenia) was the day of departure. We were warned that we had to wait for the airport transfer in the lobby, as the rooms had already been rented out. And the hotel. the guide will invite us to the exit. When our bus approached, an Arab escort entered the lobby and announced "Kaliningrad" in clumsy Russian. Our valiant hotel. the guides didn’t even move their ears, as they chattered among themselves and continued to chatter, not paying attention to the tourists.
P. S. Despite the humorous tone of what was written, I did not invent a word, but described only the facts of our cooperation with Pegasus. When ordering a tour, I naturally read Ven. the number of reviews about our future hotel, and about various tours. operators.
Now, having got into a relationship with Pegasus, I say with complete confidence - Pegasus are swindlers. Their clients are garbage. Their task is not to make your vacation more pleasant (and for your own, rather small, money), but to get the maximum from the client in any way, and how to discard the slag. There is no talk of a permanent relationship with the client. It is possible that someone will like that they are thrown from place to place, like firewood, without explanations and comments, but personally I will not advise any of my friends, much less myself, I will never have a relationship with these Pegasus scammers .
Part 2. ORENAIR - air taxi.
Orenburg Airlines played an important role in our trip to Egypt. Despite the flight delay (! ) to Hurghada, the crew of our plane showed tact in the highest degree. Despite the presence of drunken passengers, the staff behaved very professionally and correctly. Thanks a lot guys!
Part 3. Hotel ROTANA CORAL BEACH.

Rotana is located about 15 km from Hurghada. This hotel positions itself as 4+. It has a really large area, for 11 days of our stay we did not even walk around the entire territory. But it is a huge area and plays a cruel joke with the hotel. The fact is that Egypt is located in the desert with all the ensuing natural conditions - lack of water, an abundance of sun and sand. To ennoble such a territory, colossal financial investments are needed, which are not available. Hence the consequences of the free territory - dirt, garbage, unkempt huge areas, etc. I think that the hotel will still be upset in the future, but today's tourists have to see everything that I have described. However, you need to understand that building man-made oases in the desert is not an easy task. And personally, I have great respect for such work of the Egyptians.
On the other hand, what has already been done is insanely beautiful.
Paved paths with palm alleys that are beautifully illuminated in the dark, bushes with outlandish flowers, beautiful one-story bungalows, a mini-zoo with a funny camel Maksimka and a brood of rabbits. The area in front of the main entrance (the size of a football field) is licked and landscaped. Appearance - shine. Well done!
Family hotel. Many small children and pensioners from all over the world. There are few young people. Therefore, before you go to Rotana decide what you want. This hotel is for quiet relaxation. Noisy night parties I have not seen (or rather not heard). If you eat with a youth company - you are not here. (Although it seems there was even a disco somewhere). Expensive and useless for you.
We were brought to such a wonderful hotel on the evening of April 01.2013.
As I said above, Pegasus actually stole this first full day of rest from us + a four-hour flight + from the sub-zero temperature of Kaliningrad we immediately got to +35. All this did not contribute to a good mood. Check-in took about an hour - documents, etc. Since we booked our room with a sea view in advance, it seemed to me that we should have been settled faster. By the way, about paying money at the reception. I read a lot, heard a lot - everywhere there are conflicting opinions. Personally, we never give because it corrupts the hotel staff. Looking ahead, I’ll say that of the entire hotel staff, it was the team that worked at the reception from 01.04, 13 to 11.04, 13 that left a negative impression. Snickering, insolent, arrogant Arabs - they won’t hit a finger on a finger without additional. baksheesh (reward).

The beach in Rotan is the biggest plus, which crosses out all the minuses of this hotel. Warm, crystal clear water so salty that it is impossible to drown with all the desire. The water is so transparent that at a depth of 10-20 meters (!!! ! ! ) absolutely everything is visible. And what's going on off the coast - you can imagine. Fish flock between your legs while you are trying to dive, at the bottom you can even make out small pebbles. An exciting spectacle! Rotana has its own coral reef - the beauty is indescribable - who saw the cartoon "Finding Nemo" I can say that they drew a cartoon from this reef. Paradise for snorkellers and divers. Even from other hotels come to this reef.
The beach is very large, stationary umbrellas, stand in a checkerboard pattern. There are a lot of sun loungers, enough for everyone. Although, in order to take places closer to the sea, I had to go to the beach at 7 o'clock in the morning and mark (with the help of towels) the places I liked.
On the left side there is a separate beach for nudists. From time to time someone lived there. On the right side - places for water sports - diving, surfing, yachts, etc.
Part 5. Nutrition.
Having splashed enough, we returned to the hotel. I wanted to eat, but the beach bar was no longer open. Despite the beauty of the Red Sea, the anger did not pass. Having paid a five-figure sum, I wanted something else (I didn’t know anything myself, but I didn’t leave a feeling of disappointment). I thought dinner would fix everything. The mood should rise. Long before the trip, my wife and I read a lot of reviews about this hotel and the "Food" section always surprised me. Someone put the highest scores from delight, someone, on the contrary, was indignant and stigmatized. So when we went to the restaurant for our first dinner, I must admit I was tense.
With regard to food in Rotana, I understood one thing - if you are a gourmet and love variety - the restaurant here is dining room No. 12 in Uryupinsk. There are a lot of zhrachki, you will not stay hungry - this is a fact.

But the variety leaves much to be desired. Three types of beans, two types of potatoes, seafood, almost no meat, vegetables - tomatoes, lettuce, cucumbers. Several incomprehensible national dishes + a bunch of sweets for the sweet tooth (cakes, buns, etc. ). CLEARLY NEED TO UNDERSTAND THAT YOU ARE IN AFRICA. THERE IS NO MEAT HERE. Since I'm not a gourmet, I left a good impression of the dining room, although I don't dare call this place a restaurant. Moreover, the service here is just a fairy tale. I want to note the chic service of the "radiant guy" Ahmed. His tables are opposite the wine rack. He does his rough work with such ease and with such a smile on his lips that it is a pleasure to watch. We left him a $10 tip and our table was always reserved for us. Ahmed always knew what we were drinking and what our child was drinking. Tactful, smiling - in general, well done!!!!!!!!! ! ! !
(You can recognize him by his unnaturally arched left arm - maybe a habit, maybe a disabled person. ). I also want to mention Mohamed, who bakes delicious pancakes. Timid, intelligent guy left a good impression. I also note Ayman, he worked during the day in a bar on the sea, and in the evening in a lobby bar. Pleasant young man.
P. S. Actually, I can say. that in Rotan two pluses are the attendants (NOT RECEPTION) and the sea.
Part 5. Again in the room.
Satisfied, we went to the room. Since I don't drink, especially from a small glass, the feeling of anger didn't leave me. Now we could give sufficient attention to the inspection of the room. Bungalow is the only type of rooms for rest in the Rotana hotel. There are a lot of bungalows. Since the hotel is very large, the bungalows are divided into segments, which differ in the degree of proximity to the sea and in size. Our number was 3114.
Shower with normal water pressure, new toilet. In general, there are no complaints about the number. True, in addition to us, ants the size of a fingernail also lived in the room. Their rookery was in the bathroom. For 10 days they never bothered us. Since the balcony door was constantly open, from time to time a street cat wandered over to us. Once even insolently fell asleep on an armchair : -).
Part 6. Alcohol, bars, toilets.
This hotel is not "ultra-all-inclusive", so local drinks are free here, and imported ones are paid for in the bars. Beer (FARAOH) is very mediocre, diluted, not intoxicated. They pour 100 grams into small cups. So I had to take 2-3 in order not to run 10 times. Beer was poured at the bar on the beach (our bartender was Ayman - respect and respect to him), around the pool, in the restaurant (during lunch and dinner) and in the lobby bar. And now attention - sorry for the piquancy, guess how many toilets are in the WHOLE territory of the hotel ? ? ? ?

That's right - three (3), and one of them is in your room, the second is in the lobby, and the third is by the main pool. NO TOILETS ON THE BEACH!!!!!!! ! ! ! Guess where people, drunk on beer, went to the toilet? Again, right - to your room. And now I remind you that we were given only one key for three and our room was located 200-300 meters from the sea (first line). What should people living on the 2nd line and beyond do? Perhaps that is why the sea is very salty : -). All this is of course a joke, but the lack of a toilet on the beach - I really do not understand this.
Wine was poured in the canteen. Choice of red or white. Wine for an amateur, very cheap. Somewhere in the reviews they wrote that it was made of powder. I completely agree.
In the bars, at your request, they can make cocktails based on whiskey or rum. Since I don’t like either one or the other, I won’t say authoritatively about cocktails. My wife drank, she says - normal.
Of the snacks at the bar, only salads (tomatoes, cucumbers salad) and hamburgers with sausages.
Very bad. It is clear that we did not come to eat, ...although I'm sorry, I'm in a resort in Egypt, in one of the most expensive hotels and I just want to eat something like that. Here, as with all Rotanovsky catering, there is a huge minus.
Tip for straight people: take a bottle of vodka with you - you will need it. You can also buy liqueurs in the dutik (they are offered here only for money).
Part 7. Pools.
There are two of them. I only got to the main point. The water is cold, because the pool is not heated. There are many sun loungers and umbrellas, but by 11 o'clock they are all occupied. Therefore, many before breakfast, as well as on the beach, occupied their favorite places. I did not get to the second pool. My wife and daughter NEVER SWIM (!! ! ! ) in the pool, because the gorgeous sea is nearby. The pool has a bar, part of which is in the water, that is, you swim up, sit on a chair, which is also in the water and enjoy the charm of life. But there is a small but...
After 15 minutes in this little bar you burn out completely. because the sun mercilessly bakes your back. There is nowhere to hide. This, of course, is not extremely thought out, although the idea itself is beyond praise.
Part 8. Leisure.

During your vacation, you can take advantage of fun boat trips, desert quad biking, water sports like surfing, etc. While you soak up the sun, rest assured. that a smiling Arab will definitely come up to you (although the Egyptians do not like being called that) and offer some kind of adventure of this kind. Buy or not - you decide. In principle, everything will be the same with a hotel guide, but two to three times more expensive. We basically do not buy excursions from the hotel. guides, besides, we had a recommendation for one tour. a company that takes all excursions cheaper. For those who are interested, tel. (+2)01150001886 Khaled. He speaks excellent Russian, you can negotiate with him.
Buying excursions in the city from random companies is at your own peril and risk. Not much cheaper than Khaled's, but you're taking a big risk because you might not get what you ordered. I have seen similar.
We took four excursions:
- an overview of Hurghada, it was led by a wonderful guy Ahmed, who studied in Moscow and also knows Russian well. This tour is free
- Jangle water park - highly recommended. This is the best water park we have ever been to. 35 different slides. Just great. Usually, a fast food lunch is included. The price is $135 for three. You can do without food, then it will be cheaper - $ 90. Alcohol is paid. Beer - $5. But I think that water is not the best companion of alcohol + lack of those. safety = best not to drink.
- Excursion to El Gouna - a man-made piece of paradise, very similar to Venice. Plus, this usually includes diving with a mask. You will see the beauty of the Red Sea, perhaps you will catch a moray eel by the tail (just kidding) and understand why divers love this sea so much.
Warning: usually the guides drive people into some kind of tavern, where you will be praised by the "miracle" beer SAHARA (in our case, according to the guide, the beer was with mandrake root: -0). Like it costs "only" $5, but it is today that you buy three shares, and the fourth one is free. Beer - SUCKS, worse than the Baltic 3. Just a scam for tourists. In addition, the sea does not like drunkenness and can severely punish.
- and the final chord was an excursion with scuba diving. Remember uncle Zh. I. Cousteau, who invented scuba gear. Ride on a yacht, sunbathe. In our case, there were two dives of 20 minutes to a depth of 8 meters. I can say right away that you will fall in love with diving and envy those simple guys and girls (instructors) who have chosen diving as their job. Here we were lucky again, because we got to good instructors (this is VERY IMPORTANT), because after all, whatever one may say, this is a risk to life.

The best recommendations to these people who have worked perfectly. GOOD FELLOWS! ! ! Interested: FROGMAN DIVING CENTER, TEL. +2 01223215391, http://www. frogmanhurghada. com/
There are a number of excursions that are especially offered tour. firms. For example, a trip to Paradise Island. They bring you God knows where, bury you in the sand, then dig you out, like a rejuvenated body. The trip is expensive, but very stupid. This trip is beneficial for travel agencies, because there are no costs and you can get more money from the client. Be careful!
For shopping trips to Hurghada, you can take a taxi at the hotel - $ 15 round trip. All in time. The only warning is that you will always be taken only to those shops (usually very expensive) where taxi drivers receive kickbacks. These are souvenir shops, leather, oils, etc. Getting rid of annoying sellers is very difficult, so be prepared. Tip: you can buy all the souvenirs 2-3 times cheaper at the airport on the way back (!!!!!! ! ! ), oddly enough. I was really surprised by this too.
But a fact is a fact. Everything is the same, everything is the same. By the way, oils in the hotel shop cost the same as in the city. I definitely recommend bringing a picture with a double image: during the day you see a landscape, and at night (when there is no light) a phosphor image of something else, we had Tutankhamun and Nifertiti. Size 60*90, price $40.
One way or another, the central shopping street is called SHIRATON. A bunch of shops, a bunch of cafes - in general, a paradise for a shopaholic. I will not talk about attentiveness in calculations, about mandatory bargaining (always bargain, -30% no less), etc. All people are adults. I will say one thing - each store is minus 40 minutes from personal time. Therefore, just to look - it is better not to go. Sellers are very hard to get rid of. Arabs can be offended, stick a knife in the back, because the East is a delicate matter (just kidding).
A good place for walking in Hurghada is the MARINA promenade. 100 meters from the Sheraton. Beautiful yachts, boats, even a cart.

the boat was (I'm not kidding). The cafes here are expensive, but it is calmer here, there are no annoying barkers like at the Sheraton. Highly recommend.
In the hotel itself, too, there is an opportunity to spend your leisure time wonderfully. The main recreational activities in Rotan begin after dinner. I heard about some kind of disco, but I didn't go there myself. There is also a fish restaurant, standing on the outskirts, where there are also shows almost every day. The restaurant is even more reminiscent of a Soviet canteen than the main restaurant. I will stop on it. Selling "tickets" to this show is a guy named Aziz - a fun, groovy dancer with a shrewd and loud voice. I don’t know why, but it was me that he somehow distinguished from others (maybe because I’m under two meters tall and 110 kg). Even after visiting this show, Aziz, as soon as he saw me, shouted either at the whole beach or at the whole canteen -SER-YO-YOGA, HOW DO YOU DO IT! ! ! ! The show itself costs $20 per person.
Consists of a seafood dinner and a dance show. Seafood for an amateur, all sorts of crabs and shrimp - this is not for me, although I really liked the soup. The most terrible and short-legged Egyptians from all over Hurghada performed in the show, dancing through their sleeves, ". . fuck off. " Because in every Russian the city probably has oriental dance studios, and they are no longer some kind of miracle, then these ugly Egyptians did not enjoy success. But after them, a boy performed with a national dance in a skirt. Within ten minutes (! ) he spins in one place, while performing some intricate movements with tambourines with his hands. This is what I really liked. For three people, we paid $ 60 - to be honest, it’s not a pity to give for the sake of such a dance.
They also sing every day in the hotel. A man and a woman, every other day, change and sing live. The man also plays the guitar. Madonna, Sting, Elvis Presley, etc.

- all this can be heard while sitting in a comfortable chair on the street, drinking beer or whiskey, puffing on a hookah, etc. The concert goes on for about an hour - that is, 12-15 songs. After it, we usually went to the main (it's the only one) amphitheater, where every day there is a show for adults. Beginning at 21-30. Every day is a new show. Miss Rotana, Mr. Rotana, Oriental dances, snake shows, etc. Full respect and respect for the animators. Funny contests, enthusiasm, fun - GOOD FELLOWS!!!! ! !
Each visitor can order an Italian restaurant la corte (somehow it is called) for free once. It is advisable to order it immediately upon arrival, because you may not have time. There is not enough space - only 4 tables (it's for the best).
I'll probably end up with this. What I want to say in the end:
1. Am I satisfied with my vacation? - Yes, 80%. Need to go.
2. Will I go to Egypt again? - Yes, but in another hotel. I do not regret this hotel, I advise you to go.
3. What didn't you like? - Freaks from Pegasus (tour operator) + service at the reception.
4.
What did you like? - hotel service and the RED SEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ! !
5. Food - you will not stay hungry, but no frills (3+, BUT NOT MORE)
6. Animation and entertainment in the hotel - GOOD FELLOWS!
7. Excursions - do not buy from a hotel guide. You can use the services of Khaled.
