Great relaxing family vacation. Rest time: 12/19/2009-12/30/2009. Came to the celebration of Catholic Christmas. Beautiful territory, attentive staff, cultural community of vacationers.
I will note some nuances that can help make the rest even more pleasant:
1. Upon arrival at Hurghada airport - if you pay for a visa at the TEZ-Tour window, then a visa will cost you $ 17, and if through a bank at the airport, then $ 15 (this was already told to us later). From 3 they did not take a visa for a year-old child (unlike Turkey).
2. Do not settle for rooms in building 6000 with a view of the fence of a neighboring hotel (we were offered it for our first $ 20, and we agreed): the fact is that this is the north side - the floors are icy, and the swimsuits on the balcony did not even have time dry, in the evening I had to turn on the air conditioner for heating. We then changed rooms for an additional $50 but had to wait one day for it to become available.

3. In general, buildings without elevators. But who has baby carriages or wheelchairs, then you can settle on the 1st floor and go outside through the terrace.
4. Mini-bar in the room - free of charge (even though the description of the hotel says "for a fee" everywhere, even in the Tez-Tour catalog). At first we were afraid to use it, then we checked with the guides - they said it was free. We had 3 bottles for three of us. Water, 2 pepsi, 2 forfeits. There was enough water everywhere, you could take it in bars. And also in bars you can take natural juices from bags, very tasty (we took “mango”, “orange”, “pineapple”, “guava”. Although you can take as much water as you want, you still shouldn’t scatter it. Water in Egypt - worth its weight in gold, and when you see that half a bottle is thrown away or left on the beach, you are ashamed of ours.
5. Shopping. The cheapest store on site is Abu Ashara Market. There are fixed prices and you can buy everything you need: from hygiene products to beach slippers. And cotton products can be bought at the Nefertity Center store - opposite the hotel across the road. There are also fixed prices, but they can also give a discount. But the cheapest souvenirs at the airport are in the waiting room (a lot of shops) upon departure.
6. Do not leave anything on the floor (travel agencies should warn about this). Once we forgot children's sandals in the hall, and on the table there was a children's gun - after 5 minutes they returned - there was nothing. We asked the bartender - he brought us a gun. For sandals, they began to ask the hall manager at the Reception. He said that he did not know, called somewhere, said that he had checked everywhere - there was nothing. We have already lost hope, but, just in case, we turned to our guide from Tez-Tour. She approached the Reception, explained the situation - and the "cleaner" brought us our shoes (though with a very displeased look). Thank you very much to our guide (sorry, forgot her name)!! ! It turns out that nothing can be left on the floor in the hotels of Egypt - everything is “swept away” in the literal and figurative sense.

7. Be sure to take mosquito repellents with you. Even if it seems to you that there are no mosquitoes, turn it on at night anyway: mosquitoes will definitely appear and bite the child. Many children in the hotel went with bitten faces. And flies sometimes get bored. In our second room there was even a fly spray in the bathroom. We later understood why: the room was near the restaurant and the flies somehow got into the bathroom, even though the ventilation was all walled up. Probably through the floor drain holes. We sprayed it, and then we could not ventilate the bathroom - there is no ventilation!! ! But the Arabs got out well: they hung a “non-smoking room” badge on all the rooms near the restaurant. In general, the bathroom is good. And there was always hot water.
8. I was shocked by the children's club: a tiny building (like a newsstand), in the middle of a pillar hung with drawings, you can only walk in a circle. The wind inflates everything, drawings, crafts, children's socks, tights, etc. are lying on the floor. True, there is a plasma TV and DVD (under the very ceiling!!! ), and under it is a table at which a child sits, draws and watches cartoons. We no longer wanted to go there.
9. Water park. An interesting nuance! Since the hotel does not have its own slides, the guides offer the Titanic Water Park (for a fee). But it's cold water. Arabs also walk near the pools and offer “Jungle Aquapark” - there the water in the pools is warm. There are free buses from Dana, about every 1.5 hours (the schedule hangs on the stand in the lobby). But one seller (from a shop across the road) told us that for Dana's guests 1 day in the Jungle Aquapark is free. We asked our guides again - they don't know anything. We did not want to wait for the bus and went there on foot (it's not far, a straight path in front of the hotel). Before reaching the main entrance to the water park, we turned onto a path that led directly to the pools. An employee of the water park came out to meet us, saw our bracelets and towels in our hands (be sure to take them with you), asked: “Are you from Dana? ” At the same time, a woman with 2 children approached us (it can be seen from the clothes that she was local), and he immediately began talking to them, and then led them to the main entrance. And left us! And we quietly went to ride on the hills! So it's free for us! Moreover, this water park and hotel belongs to the Pickalbatros chain, which is the same as Dana. And guests from this hotel go to Dana's beach for free, because there is no beach of their own. So those who sell tickets to Jungle Aquapark are just making money.
10. Since the time of our holiday coincided with the celebration of Catholic Christmas on December 25, the hotel was beautifully decorated. Christmas trees were decorated everywhere, there were Santa Clauses (more precisely, Santa Clauses), deer with a cart. But after December 25, everything was immediately quickly removed, even the Christmas tree was not left. By the New Year, only a hut for a festive dinner was decorated (in the same place where Christmas was celebrated). After Christmas, there were fewer Germans, and more of ours. Of course, most vacationers are Germans, and we also met guests from Holland, Belgium, Bulgaria, and Poland.

P. S. On the day of departure, no one takes off the bracelets. After we paid off with the Reception, we found out that our flight was delayed (Borispol had just been closed due to snowfalls). So we also had lunch at the hotel, no one forbade us. And towels near the pool could be taken on a deposit of $ 20 and splashed in some more water.
