This spring we had a wedding and we decided to spend our first honeymoon 9 days in Dana. Upon check-in, we immediately reported our event to the reception, handed our passports with 20 euros. The receptionist told us that he got us a huge room with a king size bed. Once inside, I was wondering what the small numbers look like. But we did not pay attention to the size, especially since we liked the view from the balcony. Directly under the windows is the same river, which is mentioned in every description of the hotel, and the restaurant where we most often went.
The territory of the hotel is quite large, next to the reception there is a swimming pool, where water gymnastics was held in the morning, and a bar. The river winds along a fairly large part of the hotel, but you can only swim on one side of it. To do this, you can take a catamaran and work with your legs on your own, or use the services of a river bus that stops at 3 stops - not far from the main pool, near an Italian restaurant and next to the beach. A large number of fish swim in the river itself, they can be seen even better at night, because the water is illuminated by lamps. We tried several times to find out the name of these fish, but on the same representatives we got completely different options. I read in the reviews that the river smells. Nothing of the kind was noticed, but every day they watched a group of personnel clean the water.
Unfortunately, we did not see any beautiful fish in the sea next to the hotel. In addition, in order to look at some corals, it was necessary to overcome a considerable distance along the sandy spit on the left side of the lagoon. Deep in the lagoon becomes quite close to the shore.

Meals in the hotel restaurants are limited in time. However, almost every day, we were among the last to run to eat, and not once were we asked to leave the restaurant and the food was not cleared from the tables, no matter how much time passed from the end of breakfast, lunch or dinner. And by the way, we were not alone. After the meal, we were allowed to take with us the fruits that we had not eaten, which is quite rare for Egypt, it is usually forbidden to take food out of the restaurant. The waiters are smiling as usual, and the chefs will be happy to tell you what kind of dish it is and whether it is very spicy.
Unfortunately, I didn't get to see any of the animation views, so I can't comment on their quality.
By the way, I was surprised that there were very few representatives of Russia or Ukraine in this hotel. Mostly Germans (the owner of the hotel is also German), Italians and a couple of families from Spain.
I really liked the guide from the Tez tour, an Egyptian, but speaking Russian well. Almost every day we turned to him with questions, and he explained in detail how to get somewhere in the city, or asked the chef where the fruitmix is taken, which is used in our favorite cake.
By the way, for tourists from Dana, the entrance to the neighboring Havana club is free, but we didn’t go into it, so we don’t know if it’s fun there or not.
In general, the hotel is really good and the service here is at a high level. Have a good rest!
