We rested at the Giftun Hotel with a family of three from July 6 to July 16.2011. I'll tell you everything in order:

1. Hotel
I want to note that on the official website this hotel is assigned a category of 3 stars.
Located near the airport, transfer took 15 minutes. The hotel is located on one of the main streets of the city, so every evening you can walk along the beautiful promenade. Spoil all the local merchants who surround you like a flock of flies, imposing their goods by force and saying the same phrases like "Hello, how are you", etc. There are many cafes and shops near the hotel.
The main category of vacationers are Germans. There were few Russians in the hotel. At the end of the holiday came a lot of Arabs.

2. Accommodation
Arrived in Hurghada early, the hotel was already at 6 o'clock in the morning. Placed immediately at no extra charge, despite the fact that the official check-in after 14:00

3. Number
Standard room is a one-story bungalow.

Upon checking in, the smell of sewage immediately hit the nose, which persisted throughout the stay. The furniture is old, but everything in the room worked. Sometimes there were ants in the bathroom. They cleaned every day, twice made beautiful figures from towels. It was a bit dark in the room, since you can't open the curtains, otherwise everyone passing by will look out the windows.
Very uncomfortable bathroom - slippery and small. So be careful!

4. Territory
Big enough, green, but unkempt. The picture is spoiled by the lack of lawn and a lot of dust, especially on the way to the beach near the pool. For comparison, we went across the beach to the nearby Siva Grand Beach Hotel. The territory and the soles of the ground is not suitable for the territory of the Giftun hotel. Everything is very well maintained, nice and clean.

5. Beach
The beach is large and sandy. There were always free sunbeds. The sea is clean, entry into the sea is good. On the first day of rest, the sea was quite cool.
In the beach bar from 9 am you can drink juices (it is better to take from boxes, not from machines, as these are not juices, but diluted powders), lemonades and mineral water. And from 10:00 beer and alcoholic drinks (you can only drink local rum).
Along the coastline, you can go to two neighboring hotels: Royal Palace and Siva Grand Beach. The Siva hotel has a very beautiful sandy spit that goes straight into the sea. We walked along it a couple of times, took many beautiful photos ...

6. Nutrition
The food of the hotel is a solid 4-ku. Breakfast is mainly pastries, scrambled eggs, pancakes and cereals. Lunch at a restaurant on the beach, although it is difficult to call it a restaurant - rather tables under an awning. For dinner, the choice of dishes is quite large, but you will not try sea delicacies there. From fruits watermelons, grapes, apples, peaches. There were figs twice. At the pool bar you can take ice cream, milkshakes.

7. Service
In general, not bad, except that the waiters constantly expect tips from you and sometimes do not hesitate to talk about it.

There was a problem on the evening before departure. Since we were alone in the hotel from Pegasus, they forgot about us and told us the time of departure from the hotel only after we rudely reminded ourselves at the reception a couple of times and called our guide Amin, who did not appear at the hotel at all.

8. Animation
The hotel has its own theater, although we have never been there, because every evening we walked along the streets of Hurghada. All performances start at 21:00. We were told that all the animation was in German and we decided not to go.
There is also an entertainment program every evening at the reception bar. Belly dancers came a couple of times. Once heard a song in Russian.

9. Excursions
We took an excursion to Luxor from a local tour operator for $60. If you are not afraid of the heat of 50 degrees, then feel free to go! The tour is very informative, but difficult.
Very unlucky with the guide, who spoke very broken Russian and almost did not accompany our group of five Russians.
We also went to Paradise Island. Two years ago, it was possible to lie down on the island under chic umbrellas made of palm branches, but now this area is closed, or rather bought out by tour operators. So you have to swim on an unequipped beach. True, we decided to go for 20 dollars, and not for 55 (the price of the tour operator Pegasus). Especially on the island of time is only 1 hour, and the water is the same everywhere.

10. General impression
The overall impression of the hotel is a solid 4-ku. Spoils all the smell of sewerage in the room and unkempt, albeit green territory. If you have previously stayed in hotels with 3 stars, then you will definitely like it here! And if you rested in 5-star suites, then you are not here. In general, the hotel can be recommended!
