My wife and I went on a honeymoon trip in mid-October. We were in Egypt for the first time, which means I can be biased, but we both really liked it.
Weather: at this time of the year it's just super, the temperature of water and air is the best for a comfortable stay - not suffocatingly hot, like in summer, but there is no cold wind, like in winter.
Hotel: at the reception 15-20 bucks will help you get a more comfortable room and check in without waiting for the required 14:00; the rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff is unobtrusive; animation - nothing supernatural - who wants to have fun (volleyball, water polo, etc. ) will find a company; the beach is sandy, there are few stones, you can swim without shoes.

Food: the food is rather monotonous and, with the exception of baking, does not shine with culinary delights, a lot of spices, an abundance of fruits were not observed (although it is also impossible to say that they were not there at all), so enthusiastic gourmets are not here - my wife and I are not one of them, therefore, we liked everything - almost always you could choose something to your liking and consolidate a good impression with a delicious dessert; I can’t say anything about local alcohol - somehow there was no desire to drink at all - we only tried red dry wine, which turned out to be so-so; at lunch, near the small pool, there is a restaurant, Casa Mia, where you could get pizza - rather mediocre, but you can try it once; did not suffer from indigestion - it seemed that it only threatens those who are uncontrollable in a restaurant, if you approach nutrition with common sense (do not experiment with cereal in milk and stewed eggplant with spices for breakfast), then it is quite possible to avoid unnecessary loss of time in the toilet (although, God saves the safe - we still took levometsitinsky with us, well, we brushed our teeth with drinking water from a bottle)
.
Excursions: in a week we managed to go to Cairo, to Luxor, on a motorcycle safari - the first two were bought from a Turtessian guide (no options here - a Russian-speaking guide, a comfortable bus, a military caravan guard - not something you can save on) for 75 bucks per person, we took motorcycle safari on the beach in the aquatic center for 35, in addition, we were offered excursions involving diving, but we simply did not have enough time and money for them - this kind of entertainment cost much less than the guide; trip programs to Luxor and Cairo were standard, they were quite enough for us - we saw everything we wanted to see; Luxor - the colossi of Memnon, the temple of Hatshepsut, the Valley of the Kings, lunch on the banks of the Nile, Karnak Temple, souvenir shops (papyrus, alabaster, oils), proudly called "museum" or "workshop"; Cairo - National Museum, lunch (again on the banks of the sacred river), Giza, souvenir shops; I will immediately warn you that the road to Cairo and Luxor takes a lot of time and effort, so you will have to measure your enthusiasm with endurance
.

Baksheesh: specially a separate item, since it is an integral aspect of the trip; specifically, we paid only 20 bucks at the reception at the hotel, a couple of times we left a dollar for the cleaner in the room, plus a dollar for the bus driver upon returning from the tour; the expediency of expressing gratitude in the form of baksheesh - a question that everyone decides subjectively - (a good mood and a positive charge from a trip without conflicts and uncomfortable situations, I think, is more expensive than $ 1, however, this does not mean that you need to give absolutely everyone - to me, for example, the cleaner in the toilet in a restaurant in Cairo addressed with the words "baksheesh-baksheesh" simply by pulling a couple of paper towels out of the box for me, the cleaner in the toilet of the airport in Hurghada turned out to be even more concise - he did not even get towels - "hello! baksheesh-baksheesh ! " - for reasons of hygiene and common sense, I ignored both).

p. s.
in general - if you are determined to enjoy the trip, you will get it, but if you require increased attention to your person on the grounds that you paid a lot of money for it, with such a position, it is probably better to choose a hotel with a higher rank

p. p. s. before leaving, I studied the Pimsleur Egyptian Arabic audio course for a couple of weeks and was very pleased with the result - a friendly smile and a few words in Arabic will easily help you win over; in any case, it will not be superfluous to learn a few phrases (even if only in order to bargain more confidently in a souvenir shop), since even in a hotel not everyone speaks English, and even more so Russian
