Rested in the Grand Plaza with his wife, little daughter and his parents in late April - early May 2009. Impressions from the hotel were far from ambiguous. Firstly, at the insistence of his wife, when buying a tour, he immediately acquired 2 rooms with a sea view. Upon check-in, the 20 dollars put into the passport "to enhance the effect" evaporated, and not a single sea view was available at the same time. After the intervention of the hotel guide Turtessa, they promised to make amends for the incident the next day. I had to admire the beautiful views of the garden on the first night. . . The procedure with check-in, further relocation, knocking out the corresponding number from the hotel workers, etc. took almost a day from a 12-day vacation. At the same time, the guys at the reception from time to time very defiantly refused to understand Russian, English and other non-Arabic languages. . . One of the rooms that we eventually got was with a view of the pool and the sea could only be seen out of the corner of the eye, the second with a gorgeous view of the sea. . . and to the construction site. However, we no longer dwell on this. . The rooms are very comfortable in terms of comfort - everything is clean, tidy and functional. I was pleased with the presence of an electric kettle in each room and a whole set for preparing hot drinks: dishes, tea, coffee, cream, sugar, jams - everything is in sufficient quantity. The hotel as a whole also pleased with its beauty and well-groomed. We also liked the territory, the garden is incomparable. The rooms were cleaned daily. Towels and sheets were also changed every day. And although every day we left the cleaner a dollar, we did not have to observe any frills in the form of, for example, swans from towels. Everything was neat and restrained. The beach was not always cleaned, the reef in the hotel is dead and weak. On the day before departure, the guys from the animation team repaired the boat right on the beach and the spilled diesel fuel did not allow people to swim in the sea throughout the day. The food was monotonous and meager - rice, potatoes and pasta. There were practically no fish. Meat only beef. Chicken was given 2-3 times. From fruits - green melon (I really ate it with pleasure), oranges and sometimes guava. Once gave dates. The exception was a fairly varied breakfast with an abundance of delicious pastries. It was obvious that the hotel staff prefers vacationers from Germany and Arab countries - and it's unpleasant to feel. Animation did not interest us, it is present in the hotel, but its level is below average. However, it should be noted live music in the evenings - a very worthy performance of absolutely diverse music. I liked the clothing store on site and its salesman John is a very funny guy. I especially liked the papyrus store. We bought a lot of papyri at a very reasonable price, which was offered to us by Salah, the owner of the papyrus shop on site. We have not met such a price at any papyrus factory, either in Cairo or in Luxor. Excursions all purchased from Turtesse and were very satisfied. The only dark spot in all the excursions was the very meager dry rations provided by the hotel. A hotel guide from Turtesse named Hamada deserves all kinds of praise from our side for punctuality, efficiency and attention to the company's clients. In general, we still did not manage to spoil anyone's vacation. You can relax in the hotel. But again I would not go to the Grand Plaza. . .
