About the hotel
The first thing I would like to note is that your impressions about the trip and about the hotel will largely depend on the mood with which you are going to rest. If you are traveling for the first time and your plans include a stay in a hotel (which is unlikely to happen))), then of course you should choose as min 4 *.
A significant plus of the La Perla hotel is a 5-minute bus ride to the center.
The first time we entered the room, we cannot say that we felt like VIPs.

Everything is quite modest: whitewashed walls, essential furniture, by the way, I was pleased with the presence of a TV with the only Russian-language RTR channel, a refrigerator and air conditioning. The latter, however, worked quite noisily, but after 5 minutes it became very cool in the room. Quite a spacious balcony in our room overlooked a quiet side street. A piece of the sea was visible during the day and in the evening a good panorama with lights located along the coast of hotels and roads. In general, the room was modest furnishings, but everything was in order. After a couple of days, we got used to it and we even began to really like it there, especially since we were there very little, literally only came to spend the night.
Nutrition
Breakfast: 7 am to 10 am, Dinner: 7 am to 10 pm. It cannot be said that it is very diverse, but quite tasty (especially compared to 3 * in Turkey !!! ). Every day at dinner there was meat or fish, and more often both. Plenty of salads and a few side dishes. Sweets were also quite enough, especially I liked the croissants with delicious REAL chocolate for breakfast. Minus - not enough fruit and paid drinks for dinner (in the morning tea, coffee and drinks are included).
Beach
Before the trip, too, read the reviews on the hotel. Some wrote that the beach is paid. Nonsense! Just in those days when you go to the beach, take a coupon at the reception. By the way, it is issued for the whole day. You can leave and come back. The beach is very good - clean sandy bottom, comfortable depth for swimming (there have been on others, there is something to compare). Walk to it for 5 minutes slowly. Sun loungers, umbrellas and mattresses in place, towels were taken from the room. By the way, they are not allowed to bring their own water and beer (sealed  ). They want to be taken at their bar. After the beach, it is better to hand over the towels yourself, then they bring clean ones faster. By the way, we didn’t have any trouble with towels at all. Every morning we left tips on the bed for cleaners 1.5 - 2 pounds ($ 1 = 5.5 pounds) and in the evening intricate figures from extra towels, all sorts of hearts, swans, flowers  were waiting for us on the bed.
Tours

To begin with, when we bought a ticket at a travel agency, we, like everyone else, were strongly recommended to take excursions only from hotel guides. They justified this by the fact that a higher service than in local travel agencies, safety, only Russian-speaking guides (by the way, there is generally tension with them), etc. We, in turn, climbed the entire Internet in search of information on this subject and were faced with a completely opposite opinion. We made a selection of guides from the advice of other tourists. And we stopped at one of the local guides. His name is Samir (he speaks good Russian). He also has a middle name, for those who find it difficult to remember the first - Abdullah. His prices for excursions are among the most inexpensive in Hurghada and are one and a half or even two times lower than hotel prices. We also liked him very much for his unobtrusiveness and “non-attacking”, atypical for the Egyptians. On the second day of our vacation, we phoned him, agreed to meet near the hotel. He did not impose on us all the excursions at once, he said that we should see if we liked the first one (we went on a yacht to El Gouna), and then “you will see”  .
We were also in Luxor, Cairo, on a motorcycle safari (on ATVs) and on a boat trip to the coral islands. For those who love extreme sports, we recommend motorized safari. Tons of thrills!!!
And be sure to go on a sea excursion (there are several of them - you can choose according to your taste, but it is better to go to the coral islands with three stops for swimming), because you will not see such an indescribable beauty of the sea and the underwater world anywhere else!! ! I myself was born and raised near the sea, but only after a trip to Egypt I realized that the sea is a sea of strife……. .
Trips to Luxor, and especially to Cairo, are quite tiring (especially for those with children) due to long bus rides, but ancient temples, pyramids and the Sphinx will not leave you indifferent either. We went to Luxor and Cairo, as I thought it was wrong to visit Egypt and not see the pyramids. Moreover, they are worth it!
A little more about excursions. When we were on a motorcycle safari, we met guys from another hotel (we traveled in the same group, with one guide). It turned out that they took this tour at the hotel, but at a price exactly twice as much as we did. We paid $30 for it and they were charged $60!! ! We even regretted that we told them, their mood even deteriorated a little.
Speaking of Samir's prices (per person):
Cairo and Luxor - $50, motorcycle safari (5 hours) - $30, El Gouna - $25, coral islands - $15.
Everywhere the price includes lunch, drinks are not everywhere (need to be specified, I don’t remember anymore)
Tel. Samira: (012)752-67-12, e-mail: sameon2010@yahoo. com.
If you don't forget, give him greetings from Tanya and Vova from Odessa. It's always calmer at heart when there are mutual friends ; )))
And it's better not to call from the hotel - it's expensive there. It's better to buy a payphone card for 15 pounds in any market, you'll even have to call home for a couple of minutes .
Valuable Tips:

1) Bargain everywhere, do not be shy, except perhaps for large stores where, on goods, price tags and restaurants hang. The price can be brought down in most cases at least twice!! ! For example: I bought a bag made of natural cobra for $35, although at first the price was $55. And in another store they asked for $100 for the same!
2) If you do not want to waste time on useless conversations with merchants, try not to answer them at all.
3) In minibuses, do not give money to the driver at the entrance, because at the exit he will want more. The real price of a trip in a minibus is 1-2 pounds, and taxis (blue-orange Huindai) are about 10-20 pounds (depending on the distance). By the way, it is very easy to confuse a minibus-minibus with a taxi-minibus there (you yourself got caught on this). The price is beginning to bend unreal - barely got rid of them. The main difference between these taxis and minibuses (except for the inscription in Arabic) is the number of people in the cabin. Buses usually don't run empty.
As for the rest, it remains to be added that Egypt is a very peculiar, but this makes it even more interesting and extraordinary country with its unique Arabic flavor, year-round cloudless sky, hot, but very well tolerated due to dryness, climate, indescribably clean, blue, transparent and insanely beautiful sea (I just fell in love with the Red Sea  ) And if you go for new unforgettable impressions and don’t focus too much on all sorts of everyday little things, then you will have the most colorful, bright and pleasant impressions. We are going to go again in the spring))) Have a good rest and hope that those who travel for the first time will be able to extract the information they need from our story.
