So finally got around to writing a review! (especially after reading a couple of just nasty fake ones)
I rested with my future husband, from October 23 - November 3.2010.
Naturally, the tour operator is Anex, I didn’t see others from the Russian side there! )
I must say right away that the impressions are not bad at all, but there are different sides, so I will try to objectively describe the points:
! ) Contingent:
90 percent are Russians and Ukrainians, and approximately in half! I heard English (German) speech mainly from animators. =) Previously, as I understand it was the other way around, apparently over the years everything has changed. There are few young people, mostly companies, and there are so many older people ...there are also few children.
2) Rooms, main building and equipment:
The rooms are all nice, it seems that there are two beds everywhere, we had a 2-bedroom and a lorry with a sweet one.
But everything is old, painted with paint, which is why, if you don’t look closely, it looks pretty, but antiquity is antiquity, the doors of the closet are broken (beautifully skewed + the side rails enclosing the mirror are broken) we used one half of the cabinet, which was difficult, but managed to open, the safe in the same closet. The shower did not work, but the staff there is wonderful, tell the guide what is not working for you and they fix it for you on the same day, and with such a smile, as if they are happy about it! =)
Refrigerator like an old Soviet one (I didn’t look at the name), a meter from the floor, empty (by the way, there is no mini-bar and water, so you have to buy water in a store next to the hotel 9 pounds - 2 bottles of 1.5 liters each), We tried to make ice like a freezer , but a day later it did not completely freeze.
The telly is the usual type of an old Panasonic, there are many channels, two Russian ones.
The air conditioner is old, huge, noisy, but effective, although we practically didn’t need it at the end of October.
The bathroom has hand and shower gel. Everything. Hairdryer, judging by the instructions that lay there, you can take it for use, ask the cleaner, and return it back, I did not check, I had my own.
There are rooms in one-story bungolos, with walk-through balconies overlooking the paths, and in 3-story buildings, overlooking the sea or the alley (well, depending on which floor)
In addition to the fact that the whole hotel is old and the furniture is old everywhere (this just didn’t bother me), the main building (reception and dining room) smells unpleasant, especially in the dining room, I never got used to this smell, although it irritated me from only the first day , then did not pay attention.
By the way, for those who will live on the first floor: if you have a keen sense of smell, go higher! ! ! The area is really wonderful, green. And accordingly, it needs to be watered with fertilizers (feces), respectively, there are insects and they are poisoned with caustic smoke.
Well, it's certainly not every day.
3) Territory - super!
Objectively:
Lots and lots of palms! =)
2 pools (with cold water),
1 restaurant-dining room,
4 bars: Lobby bar, pool bar and Blue Lagoon beach bar - drinks only, bar on the main beach (drinks, hamburgers or hot dogs, fries and vegetables, fruits)
3 beaches: in fact, they use two, on the third, athletes sometimes have fun (windsurfing, kiting), you can windsurf for a fee. There is no other water equipment for hire (just like there are no other types of water activities), so take masks and fins with you!
The beaches are sandy, although the sand is rocky.
On the main beach: the entrance to the water is conveniently gentle, the depth is sufficient for swimming, you don’t have to walk a kilometer, the same rocky sand is under your feet. There is animation in the water and on the beach itself.
There is also a children's water slide, and only for children, as the adults there not only don't "fly", but stop in the middle and push with their hands =) They didn't climb there more than once! =)
The second beach with hedgehogs, a little further corals and, accordingly, fish. This is where masks come in handy.
Oh yes, there are two more paying restaurants.
THERE IS NO ELSE! ! ! It's all in the project! ! ! At the edges, the territory of the hotel is being built or redone, when it was larger (judging by old photos, reviews and what can be seen in the closed area) But now everything is fenced! Construction does not interfere, you still have to walk to it, the rest of the territory will be enough for you. =)
4) Entertainment:
Here it is debatable ...who needs what.
Animation:
from 10 am to 1 pm - exercises, water gymnastics, darts and boccia on the beach, game ("pass the bottle with your knees"), "hotel dance"
Break 2 hours.
from 15 to 17 h - a couple of dances on the beach, water polo. and some other games.
Break 4.5 hours!
from 21.30 to 12 evening show. - either a real show in the amphitheater, then the rest of the time until 00 h, disco music plays by the main pool (I write because no one was dancing)
- either a program at the main pool in front of the main building: either a competition or some kind of performance, then dancing there again until 00:00
The animators are great! ! ! All Arabs, at least a little, but speak Russian, plus Russians and Ukrainians among the animators. All cool guys, and the dead will be raised! =) The guys are Arabs, generally incomparable, such a feeling that they are tested for a sense of humor before being hired! True, some monotonous things sometimes even infuriated me.
Who was there or will go, will understand what I mean. : )
Bars: by the pool and on the beach close at 17h.
As a result, only the Lobby bar is open in the evening, the one in the lobby (drinks only), from which they also serve at the main pool (where there are performances and dances)
In general, the situation is as follows: until 17:00, have fun as you like, at 17:00 the sun sets, everything closes, and there is nothing else to do!
Of the options from five to half past nine, wait for the show program, then watch, dance by the pool and go to bed, Or go somewhere from the hotel.
So you can only come to have fun there with a big company. Or vice versa for those who like to sunbathe, sleep. With my activity, it was frankly boring in the evenings.
5) Food and drinks.
Water is only in coolers, well, juices, of course, taste like non-carbonated lemonade, strong drinks immediately turn your stomach, more or less it’s rum, but everything tastes disgusting and it’s impossible to get drunk on them. Beer is also with a non-alcoholic effect, taste for an amateur. Wine is a golem alcoholic, disgusting (especially red), the smell of alcohol, and this is the only thing that intoxicates, but this substance is also for strong organisms.
Food:
Very tasty breakfasts, it is not possible to spoil pancakes and scrambled eggs. =)
Lunch and dinner - sooo selective, the "menu" sometimes chicken, one kind of fish, smelling badly raw! fish, sometimes meat, often tasty ...Through time, cooked potatoes. Rice is also not necessary once in a while and always with different spices - also an amateur, just delicious mashed potatoes. Well, vegetable hot dishes. Salads are either with rotten vegetables, or they are sour sauces with specific spices, and separately chopped tomatoes are also rotten every other time. Pasta is cheap overcooked pasta. Here is a dish like a closed pizza that is delicious ...In principle, since the choice is large, something tasty and edible is sure to come across, so we ate too much (oh, and even very tasty pastries), but for the last two days it was already disgusting to eat something other than breakfast. ..
Fruits: green melon, red apples, inedible dry oranges and brown-green grapes (you need to choose not rotten)
I talked to a woman who is in this hotel for the third time (travels with a friend and an adult daughter), so she told me about the rest here, in the list of entertainment she listed diarrhea, which starts stably for everyone on the 3rd day. (a very sociable woman, apparently she also talked with other tourists)
6) The staff is beyond praise! Super kind, smiling and generally friendly people. Unless our cleaner was a lazy person, really smiling, don’t leave a lot of money, no figurines of towels for you, and he made the bedspread on the bed only when I put it there myself, and so I left it on the next bed ...Although the cleaners are assigned to the cases and do not change among themselves, so this is only our such a handsome man, I heard opposite stories about others! )
7) Anex tour - we flew to Hurghada on an excellent plane, we were met normally, seated on buses and the Arab guide in broken Russian made us laugh all the way, because he could not say anything sensible (his first words: "Welcome to TURKEY! =)
We met with the hotel guide in the morning. My name is Oksana. There are no problems finding her, she sits in the lobby every day. But she knows little ....only how to sell expensive excursions, although this is her job. (this became clear later, when I caught her on numerous mistakes - she does not correctly name hotel prices, and beyond, and exaggerates, and she also does not know about what is in the hotel and how it works, or rather she is mistaken, although so confidently answers questions that until you find out the truth, you won’t even think that she is saying whatever comes into her head! )
So it’s better to ask Natalia (there are already 2 of them - hotel managers for communicating with guests)
And by the way, don’t waste time on a free sightseeing tour, that’s why it is given as a gift, because it’s complete garbage, just be upset that you lost half a day.
Diving they have, as they say with good instructors, the boat is also not bad. But about other water excursions (I haven’t been on others) there are bad reviews. Those who have traveled more than once say that the company on the beach and the ship are better and the programs and of course the prices are sooo better!

By the way, Oksana, because of the competition, will scare you that just yesterday something happened to tourists who left the company on the beach, but in fact she herself regrets that she did not conclude an agreement with them ... )
It was worse with the return, the bus was delayed for an hour at the hotel, as the company of young guys lost 3 cards for towels from the room and, accordingly, the staff demanded 54 dollars from them for towels, which the guys didn’t even receive that day ....So watch your towels and cards... (guys had to borrow money)
We flew back on an old plane, with very mediocre food ....
And by the way, the hotel is located on the first coastline, but in the "old city", there are a couple more hotels nearby, residential buildings, the central hospital of Hurghada, and construction sites ...You won't reach the center on foot, but you can take a taxi for $ 2.
Who cares, of course, but I liked it a little further from the old Hurghada in the resort area. It's nice and beautiful, but here ..........
