I dreamed of visiting this hotel for the last two years, but somehow it didn’t work out - at first it was planned to buy a fur coat in Greece, then a very cheap last-minute ticket to Turkey turned up... And so, my husband gave me a gift for my Anniversary Birthday in the form of a ticket to this amazing hotel! Rested in this hotel with a four-year-old daughter from July 3-10.2010. The architecture and the territory of the hotel are simply fantastically beautiful - a real Arabian fairy tale!! ! Very beautiful, clean pools - one very large, the other just big and two children's pools.
There are 4 restaurants on the territory - 1 of them "El Nigma" is paid separately. The atmosphere in the restaurants is beautiful, the furniture is stylish, for dinner the cleanest tablecloths and cloth napkins, buffets with food are decorated with artificial flowers, fruits and colorful oriental dishes. The food is delicious, only a couple of times I came across dishes with spices that I did not like. There is a decent selection for dinner at the large Mahara restaurant. We always had breakfast in Marrakesh - small, cozy, there are tables by the beautiful pool, among the greenery. Once we signed up at the Mediteraneo restaurant - there are dishes for a fee and which are already included in the price. I tried the "free" ones - everything was very tasty, the shark fillet was amazing! The atmosphere there is very romantic - a violinist plays, the service is at a high level.
Stomach problems... were. On the 3rd day they started, like many vacationers. This is not due to the products and the way they are prepared, but to very poor tap water. Brush your teeth only with purchased water! The pharmacy said not to eat salads. vegetables and fruits are washed with tap water. I think this is true, because. the baby did not eat salads and she had no problems.

The rooms are beautiful, oriental style, very clean. Big and comfortable bed! For the first time in my life I slept perfectly on vacation. We had a room on the 4th floor overlooking the huge pool and large balcony. We looked into the Junior Suit - the furnishings and furniture are absolutely the same, only the room is 1 meter longer and the balcony is larger and rounded. I think these "advantages" are not worth 150 euros per person (difference between Delux and Juior Suit). They clean very cleanly, I left a tip once at the beginning of the holiday for a week at once - 5 euros. In the evening, around 6 pm, they come to change beach towels. If you are not in the room at this time, then they will not just change the towels, but hang the curtains, the blankets will be beautifully thrown back, they will make a flower out of the towel : -) In general, good night : -) Just do not forget to throw beach towels on the floor! And that won't change.
Service at the hotel is very good. I didn't have any problems at all. Although the Arabs are certainly slippery people... there are very helpful and friendly, but there are also such specimens... a maid molested a 16-year-old daughter of one Russian tourist. Complained - the next day an apology, a fruit basket in the room, and there were no more problems. The maid was afraid to raise his eyes and cleaned the room only in the absence of the owners. And cleaned up very well.
Upon arrival at the hotel, try to immediately change the money for theirs Egyptian, otherwise if you pay at the hotel in dollars or euros, they recalculate at a predatory rate.
A separate issue, and perhaps a little disappointing for me - the prices for drinks and food at the hotel. Since the hotel only operates on a half board basis, drinks and lunch snacks must be purchased by yourself. So, the prices there are not very small, especially when you consider that Hurghada is, sorry, not London and not Monaco. A jar of 0.3 liters of local cola costs 14 LE, which is exactly 2 euros, a bottle of mineral water is 15 LE (in a restaurant it is considered 2.50 euros). Beer something around 4 euros per can. Add another tip and it turns out that Egyptian beer will be several times more expensive than Bavarian beer : -) The hotel has its own small gallery with shops, the so-called Grand Moll, where, for example, a bottle of water costs 7 times (!!! ) cheaper than in the hotel - 2LE. You know, I'm actually not a miser, we didn't save on every sip of water, we bought everything we wanted. However, I still think the prices are too high. One tourist told me that they are resting in this hotel for the 4th time and they have adapted: in the first days of vacation they go by taxi to the nearest large supermarket and buy juices, water, beer, as well as all sorts of small snacks such as nuts and sweets - right away for the duration of the holiday. He says that he saves about 300 bucks in this way. It's better to use this money for excursions, right?

The beach is good. The water is clean and warm, in early July it was 28 degrees. But compared to the air temperature of +45, when entering the sea, water does not seem like fresh milk : -) It refreshes in moderation. The entrance to the sea is smooth, the bottom is sand with small smooth pebbles. In short, the sea is super!! ! Yes, and no smell of diesel on the beach and oil stains in the water, as some tourists wrote - there is none! Walk to the beach from 5 to 10 minutes depending on where your room is. The hotel area is very large.
Now about the kids. I highly recommend visiting this hotel with children. As already mentioned, there are two children's pools, the depth of which is from 18 to 50 cm, suitable even for the smallest. There is a children's club, but it is for Germans and Scandinavians, unfortunately there are no Russian educators there, because. in the Grand Resort, the main contingent is Germans, Austrians and Finns with Norwegians. Children under 12 years old are fed free lunches - from 12 to 14 hours, on the territory of the Resort - at the children's club (the choice is very small) and also in the Arabesque restaurant of the Grand Hotel, which is located on the first line. There is a very good choice - different meats (grilled, stewed, meatballs, fish), vegetables, side dishes, soup, various buns, cakes, ice cream, drinks... By the way, you can also have lunch there for adults for 70 LE, which is exactly 10 euros. In principle, it is much better than paying 9 euros for a small ice cream and a small portion of fries at the Resort. There are high chairs in restaurants, special paths to restaurants are equipped for strollers. In general, feel free to take your favorite children with you.
Weather. Beautiful!! ! I say right away that we love the heat and endure it perfectly, including the child. I really liked the climate - of course it's hot, BUT! Firstly, the climate there is very DRY, there is no feeling of a sauna when there is nothing to breathe and therefore you practically do not sweat (except for the first couple of days due to acclimatization). And secondly - in Hurghada the breeze is constantly blowing - these two factors make the heat quite bearable and even pleasant.
Animation. Not intrusive. In the morning there is water gymnastics on the beach, in the evening - a children's disco, then an evening show (when a couple of acrobats, when snakes are tortured - not very impressive). Much more I liked live music by the large pool - every day after dinner a saxophonist or a violinist played in a large white gazebo - relaxation is just awesome, romance... In the evening, singers also sang in several places, the repertoire is rather lyrical. There was one Russian singer - she sang beautifully, professionally.

Adviсe. Who does not want to spend a lot on drinks and ice cream - buy in the shops at the hotel (Grand Moll) And do not take ice cream in a cafe to order, where they will bring it to you in a tiny vase (two balls, cream, 2 pieces of cons. pineapple for 5 euros) and take a popsicle from the freezer for 5 LE (about $ 1) in the store - by the way, very tasty, from Nestle. Drinks are absolutely the same here, they cost 7 times and more - cheaper! Cocktails and beer are also much cheaper. There is also an Internet cafe, 30 min. costs 20 LE (3 euros).
Do not pay for toilets at Hurghada airport! At the entrance to the toilets there are signs in 3 languages "do not tip". But some enterprising airport employees (looking like cleaners) managed to stand in front of the entrance with an outstretched hand, such as a paid toilet - "get your eurekas, stupid pale faces" : -) Not everyone notices these signs and many pay!
Check the validity of your passport before traveling! From the date of departure from Egypt must be at least 2 months.
If you have problems with digestion - run to the pharmacy at the Grand Moll, 75 LE (11 euros) for two drugs - one for abdominal pain, the other for diarrhea - and your torment will stop after the first pill, but drink them better to the end. Avoid salads, and take fruits with you and eat only after washing with purchased water.
Ask for a room in the southern buildings - it's closer to the sea, to the reception and the Grand Moll.
In general, the impression of the hotel is excellent - a very beautiful hotel with charm, a special romantic atmosphere and good service... suitable equally well for families with children, pensioners, and newlyweds. The hotel is designed for a quiet, measured rest. If you are going to Egypt only to swell and hang out, then you are definitely not here.
I immediately apologize for spelling errors (we have been living in Germany for a long time) and thank you to everyone who read to the end.
