We chose the hotel for a long time and carefully read a thousand reviews about many hotels. But after consulting, we decided that Sunrise royal makadi is the best in terms of price / quality ratio.
We flew through AnexTour, there were no delays in departure, we checked in pretty quickly and there was time to take a walk around Duty Free. The plane was served water, tea and coffee.
Visa: Upon arrival at the airport, everyone was sent en masse to the Anex counter to obtain a visa, which costs $27. Without hesitation, we went to the local counter where a visa costs $ 25, calmly filled out the cards and went through control. We were transferred to the hotel very quickly.
Check-in: We were hospitably received at the hotel, we were given wet towels and sweet soft drinks at the entrance. Registration for the settlement lasted 20 minutes.
Settlement: We were taken to our room, which we absolutely did not like! ! The location is terrible, far from the restaurant, pools and beach.
The room itself is somehow not cozy with columns in the center and separate beds. Having asked to be moved, we were immediately given a completely different room, much more comfortable, close to restaurants and all the entertainment.
Cleaning: Leaving a little for tea, they brought us a kettle with cups, tea and coffee, which was very handy in the morning. Cleaned every day, sometimes changed towels. Once they put flowers in a glass, which was very nice, and twisted swans out of towels.
Guides: The local guides from the annex were not intrusive, they told about the excursions, they persuaded them personally for half an hour and fell behind. I did not like the allegedly free "shopping tour", we thought we would be taken to the markets to buy exotic fruits. And we were brought only to three expensive stores, where prices are not added up and immediately to the hotel.
Excursions: Personal advice. Do not take excursions from the annex tour, they will not add up the prices, they sell 2 times more expensive than the local guys, but there is no difference! ! !
We went to Cairo for $40 per person. and were very satisfied.
Territory: Huge and well-groomed, beautiful trimmed bushes and flowers. They did not notice the stink from watering (as they wrote in the reviews earlier).
Service: The Lobby always offered drinks, served. Almost all staff speak Russian. The attitude towards Ukrainians is friendly, always with a joke and a smile on his face.
Meals: In the main restaurant, the choice of food is huge. There is always chicken, different types of beef and veal. Many side dishes: pasta, rice, local cereals and dishes. Vegetables: both fresh and steamed. Fruits: apples, melons, dates, bananas, pomegranates, grapes. Huge selection of desserts, we tried probably only a quarter of the abundance of sweets. I was pleased that breakfast and lunch for foreigners were served in a Mexican restaurant, the choice is the same as in the main, but not noisy, without queues and more compact. Twice in 7 days for dinner there were juicy huge shrimp with crabs.
A la carte restaurants: We only visited 3 T-Bones, Italian and Bedouin. T-Bones is about nothing at all, just products from the main restaurant only folded beautifully. I liked the Italian, there was delicious pizza and salad. Bedouin also liked it, very atmospheric, they ate veal skewers which pleased.
Beach and sea: The beach is clean and probably the best in Makadi Bay. The sea is gorgeous and clear. There are small home reefs with colorful fish. There were enough sun loungers for everyone, when we arrived at 10 we always found a place on the first line. The beach has a bar and a towel exchange. Of course, there is not enough snack bar, but we always took some fruit from breakfast with us. Once on the beach there was a fruit party where they served quite tasty macaroons. Merchants do not particularly bother and do not persuade, they talk more and joke.
Wi-Fi: For us it was very important. It is free and available in the lobby, by the pool, in the restaurant and on the beach.
Animation Entertainment: The guys worked well, they always invited somewhere, every hour some kind of activity. Every evening at 21.30 performances in the amphitheater. We even went for a couple.
