Hello, dear friends, like-minded people and travelers!
I want to share my impressions about my 20th vacation in Egypt, but the first in Makadi Bay.
We rested at the end of May with a large company with work colleagues and children. I will write a review based on my impressions and experience.
Transfer: Flight Kyiv - Hurghada, Azur Air airlines, Boeing 767, wide-body, people packed like "herrings in a barrel" there is practically no legroom between the rows, if your neighbor in front has laid out a chair, then 4 hours with a stranger on your knees is provided, which significantly affects not only the comfort of the flight, but also safety. I have a feeling that if our airlines (this applies not only to Azur) continue to save on passenger space, then the next flight will be standing or sitting in the arms of a neighbor. The safety briefing was conducted exclusively in English.

So, those who fly for the first time and do not speak foreign languages very well did not quite understand the safety instructions. But this is a lyrical digression from the topic.
Transfer to the hotel about 30 minutes. We were greeted with cold drinks at the reception. We settled quickly in building number 29 on the 2nd floor overlooking the neighboring buildings.
The room, despite the small area, I liked the interior. We had 3 beds for two. Everything works in the room, the furniture is in good condition, there is a kettle, tea bags, coffee, sugar, cream. Water is replenished daily, 2 small bottles per room. You can take bottled water in any bar or main restaurant. On the balcony there are 2 chairs and a table, as standard. The bathroom is not big, sink, toilet, shower. Cosmetics were not spared here: soap, shower gel, shampoo, hair conditioner, body balm, cotton sponges, ear buds, shower caps. Everything was replenished on time.
True, the shower gel lathered badly, but this is not a big problem. There was a sewing kit and a cloth for shoes in the closet, not every hotel can boast of such a kit. There was a TV, but we never turned it on. Thanks to the cleaner, he cleaned it efficiently, changed towels and bedding, no complaints.
Territory of the hotel: the area is just huge, green and clean. You can see the work of landscape designers. There are several pools and a separate territory of its own water park. There is a quiet area for adults.
I liked the water park: there are a lot of slides, they are of medium extreme. Employees monitor the safety of guests on the slides, they are not allowed to go down until the previous tourist sails after the descent to a safe distance. And rightly so, in my opinion. There are enough sun loungers, towels can be received and handed over on the spot. In the water park there is a fast food bar (pretty tasty pizza) and a pool bar.
There is also a well-equipped playground and a kids club.
Food: this is another plus of the hotel.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner in the main restaurant: the main restaurant is huge in area, there are places on the street. Breakfasts are standard, the choice of dishes is very large: scrambled eggs, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, cereals, cereals, vegetables, cooked and raw, greens, cheeses, sausages, pancakes, croissants, various jams and honey, toasts, several types of natural yoghurts, fruits, desserts. Everything is fresh and deliciously prepared. For breakfast, fruit juices, tea, coffee are poured. The coffee is not very tasty.
Lunches and dinners are even more varied, there is meat and fish, various side dishes, snacks, several types of soups with various toppings, salads and chopped vegetables, herbs, a lot of sauces and dressings for salads and other dishes, there is a table with spices. Large selection of grilled dishes, dietary and not very dietary dishes. Prepare pasta and pizza according to your taste.
The choice of fruit is not large, but I enjoyed eating watermelon in the month of May. The dishes are all fresh, which is very important. Drinks are brought by waiters.

Once in 7 days of rest, you can go to 1 of the 7 Ala Carte restaurants for free, but the problem is to sign up for everything, often there are no places. We were in the Bedouin (I liked the barbecue), the Mediterranean (I recommend the seafood soup and grilled seafood), the Oriental (I didn’t like the sushi, I liked the duck and the very atmosphere of the restaurant).
Beach: the hotel has its own beach, located next to the hotel. The beach is huge, there is enough space for everyone, clean, there are fences from the wind. The entrance to the sea is sandy, special shoes are not needed. You can get a towel on the beach in exchange for a card. The beach has a bar, toilet, shower, changing cabin.
Sea: for me, a person spoiled by the best bays of Sharm and Marsa Alam, swimming near the hotel's beach was not at all interesting.
There are no corals near the beach of the hotel, there are no living creatures at all, in addition, a piece of the sea is fenced with a net. There are many boats and water attractions moored close to the hotel's beach. In the evening there were stains from fuel in the water.

But, not everything is as bad as it might seem at first glance. He who seeks always finds. From the reviews of other travelers and correspondence (thanks for the help), I knew that there was coral in Makadi Bay. Went looking and found. In the neighboring hotel to the north, there were coral islands with fish. Particularly pleased with the groupers of completely different sizes and colors. Close to the shore lived a small but almost tame stingray. And there were many coral islands in the north. But we found the coolest coral in the northernmost hotel of the bay. The route is as follows: go along the promenade from SUNRISE ROYAL MAKADI along the promenade through several hotels about 2 km to the northernmost Red sea hotels.
On the way we admire the architecture of other hotels, fountains and plants. We reach the pontoon, descend from it and sail south to our hotel. The architecture and variety of corals is magnificent, there are many living creatures. In addition to the standard Red Sea set of living creatures, we met a fairly large sea turtle, groupers, aluther, moray eels, stingrays, bracken, cuttlefish, a huge octopus and much more. A very decent place to snorkel.
I also read that very interesting living creatures are found in the south near the STELLA DI MARE pontoon, but we didn’t dare to go there in the heat, it’s very far. The sea is closer, but boats and yachts go. You need to sail at dawn, but not everyone is capable of such a feat.
Service: pretty good. Most of the employees try very hard to please the guests. I especially want to mention one waiter in the restaurant with a sunny smile, excellent memory for orders and fast service. I don't remember his name, I'm attaching a photo.
But some waiters confused orders or even forgot. At the lobby bar, where there is a piano, the bartenders are wonderful, the cocktails are of high quality. On the beach, the bartenders are not smiling and not quick. But overall the service is good.
Animation: very decent level for Egypt. Presented by an international team and imported evening shows. There were also sports games, and a festival of colors, bocha, and various competitions in the evening. Animators are constantly approaching and inviting to participate. At a very high level, dance shows, a fire show. It was fun. Sincere thanks for not letting me get bored.
Tours:
1. We took a dolphin bay and a snork on a reef in the open sea from Tatiana's agency in Hurghada (if you need contacts, write in a personal). It cost $20 per person for an individual yacht, a group tour would have been even cheaper. The instructor on the yacht is good, he found dolphins for us, we saw a flock of 15 individuals, but we did not swim with them for a long time.

The snorkel coral was alive. Recommend. We also took a transfer from this agency to a supermarket in Hurghada.
2. On the beach we took individual fishing and reef from a local guy in a red cap. I absolutely do not recommend. He promised a transfer from our pier, but it turned out to be a transfer from Hurghada, he promised that the caught catch would be fried on a yacht, as a result, the workers took the catch for themselves, promised good fishing and equipment - the equipment is terrible, the place for fishing is poor, the reef for snorkeling is the most “killed” in Red Sea. When we did not give a tip, there was no limit to resentment.
One more nuance. I ask tour operators to pay attention to the behavior of their representatives. The guide from Anex Tour began his meeting with the guests with frank rudeness and pressure on tourists. Took us half a day. Prices for excursions are overpriced by 2-3 times.
General impression of the hotel: in general, the stay at the hotel was a success. Definitely recommend the hotel.
Pros: excellent food, excellent room cleaning, huge green area, high-quality water park, some of the staff are very diligent, funny animation, good shows.
Cons: lack of corals (although for some this may be a plus) and the presence of yachts and boats, some hotel workers do not live up to high standards of service.
Have a good rest, if you have any questions, write, I will answer!
