Without problems and long waits settled in a room for three with one delivered bed - 3149.
There was no extra charge for the room - as it turned out, it was in one of the best places of the hotel: with a balcony and side sea views.
Room and cleaning
The hotel has shabby and old, a lot of cracks, scratches, furniture spills as well as shower racks near the bath.
Safes work en masse and do not inspire confidence, but their other interior elements are quickly trying to put in order by the call (one) to the reception.
The beds are quite comfortable to sleep. Water is regularly delivered by room service, which cleans them at a decent level for tips and even without them.
The staff leaves beach towels in the room - very old, do not be surprised.
Internet in the rooms is paid, and in the lobby - very slow. Buy a card at the airport and you will be happy. Do not forget that the offered gigs of the Internet are promotional bonuses that you buy for 10-20 dollars and you need to enter when to activate them.

But the cream soups were good and complemented the mentioned vegetables, delicious rice and a wide selection of sweets.
The latter were on a par with french fries, cutlets, pizza, pasta and tilapia (to replace chicken limbs) in a deep fryer.
These snacks could be intercepted at the beach bar.
Drinks are quite drinkable: they tried to make draft beer, wine and cocktails, but this is not the level of other countries.
For symbolic money there is no point in demanding something extraordinary.
Waiters could earn more if they offered drinks more carefully at the tables and served them quickly. Hotel managers have something to work on in terms of training staff, which is naturally quite slow in general.
Another thing that is extraordinary for Egypt here is the sea and the beach.
Beach
In the bay where the hotel is located, tourists are transported from other locations, because there is a sandy beach and moge with beautiful reefs, where, in addition, live dugongs (sea cows or manatees) and sea turtles.
The latter are easier to meet in the pasture when they eat with their companion fish, and from the dugong you need to look for, or ask the locals to take you to visit them.
It's a great feeling to swim next to turtles, or when huge air bubbles rise from the depths near you, because a sea cow is swimming under you, about which you have only read and seen movies before.
Next to the hotel there is a pontoon with access on two sides in the coral and quite deep canyons several tens of meters long. When the waves - you do not swim much, and from the beach and in windy weather you can have fun at sea.
The beach is clean and well maintained.
Palm trees provide shade and together with hammocks create a good inventory for photos.
There are tents on the beach, where they do a wonderful massage with oils - I ordered twice, and the woman did three times. For the skin and body - this is a real relaxation.
Those who still need good divinations can turn to Ibrahim and his young assistant Muhammad, who offer horseback riding and camel rides.
The animals are clean and well-groomed, their owner is pleasant and gives a good price for their services.
Our daughter rode a horse for at least an hour every day for a week and got a camel ride every day.
There is a desert around the hotel, so there is a place to jump. The child was given a helmet and equipment was securely fastened - we did not worry.

The guide from Join Up turned out to be a nice but quite cunning guy.
We almost bought a tour that started at 5 am, which the seller did not warn us to pay for the tour, but we returned the money.
Instead, we took a tour of the open-bottomed boat, stylized in the ancient Egyptian style with a good lunch on board.
Although our official guide frightened us with the fact that they would sell us not the ones he offered for $ 30 more than people, we decided to buy from a man named Muhammad, who immediately offered this tour in the hotel lobby - also officially and with good . discounts. But his trouble is that he doesn't speak Russian, speaks fluent English, German, Italian and a little Polish (I remind you who the hotel used to be), so he was a little afraid of problems because he climbed into the Join Up territory.
But we as clients turned out to be right and everything went great. We swam on a ship, found several turtles, moray eels, stingrays, had lunch with real seafood (without octopuses, though, but with squid, mussels and not tilapia), and walked around the private port city of Quseir.
Therefore, I recommend Muhammad and his services.
No more tours were taken, as they were only a week away, and there had been deserts, islands and tombs before.
During our stay there were few winds and the temperature was in the range of 23-26 degrees during the day and 15-18 in the evening - which is quite nice for winter.
We used to be in Hurghada at the end of January - it was too cold.
The best months can be November and April.
Verdict
Sea turtles, dugongs, snorkeling, diving, horses, nice people and the climate suggest that we will return here.
Despite the old hotel, slow staff, unfinished restaurant on the beach, poor animation and poor food.
Hotel - for active people who know languages, want to communicate and spend an hour wisely on the right emotions and impressions.
In the case of the operator - it is better to take an individual transfer if you fly from Hurghada.

I spent my 14th vacation in Egypt with my girlfriends at the MALIKIA RESORT ABU DABBAB 5 * hotel in Marsa Alam. The reason is that we were unlucky with the weather (constant wind and storm) and the carrier Azur air stole a whole day of rest from us.
1. Arrived closer to dinner instead of early morning. Room 2136 was booked for 3 people but prepared for two. I had to ask for extra towels, cups, replacement of a folding bed with a full third bed. Thanks to a manager named Sheriff, all issues were resolved, for which many thanks to him. Cleaning was every day, towels were changed, fresh beach towels were brought to the room in the evening, 3 half-liter bottles of water were left every day. If not enough, they recruited at the restaurant during the meal. All electrical appliances worked properly. Body gel and hand soap were in dispensers (I think that this is unacceptable for a 5 * hotel, I only met this in 4 * hotels). There is a toilet with a bidet function. The shower is unregulated, combined with a bath, which would not hurt to change, it had a painfully unpresentable appearance. There is a kettle and cups in the room, but there weren't any tea/coffee bags.
2. The food is not very varied, but quite tasty. Beef, chicken, fish, salads in different variations. From the first for lunch, only one soup or the so-called borscht. From fruits: oranges, guava, apples, dates, chopped melon salad with apples, tangerines, bananas, strawberries have been added for the last 3 days. Desserts are delicious and varied. I was pleased with the "fish day" on Sunday - there were squid and shrimp in batter. Alcoholic drinks - for all tastes, although we prefer wine. Bartenders are not greedy, how many times you come up - they pour so much. Beer at the beach bar is poured into small plastic cups. (For girls, this is not critical, but when we relax with men, we take plastic glasses of 0.5 liters with us). Since we are lovers of beer with a snack, we also took it from home. Delicious coffee from vending machines can only be drunk at the beach bar and lobby bar. The restaurant is a mess. Tea bags everywhere.
3. Territory - large, beautiful, but not very green, in need of care. Perhaps this is because the hotel opened only on March 3, and they have not had time to ennoble everything yet. There is only one pool, large, with slides, but not heated.
4. The beach is wide, with wicker windscreens, with the help of which we only escaped. There is a pontoon, but all week there was a strong wind and a wave, so we didn’t even reach it, but swam from the side of the Hilton, for some reason the wave was smaller and there was a gentle sandy entry. There is a reef, but I can’t say anything about its beauty again because of the weather. Of the fish, we managed to see a large moray eel, pintail stingrays, lionfish, not counting any other “little things”. Well, the main reason why we got to this hotel is the turtles! We saw several pieces at the same time, we even managed to touch two when they rose to take a breath of air. Their pasture is located right in the center of the bay, you can swim between the local reef and the red boat. Or from the reef side of the Hilton hotel towards the shore of our hotel. But the distance is much greater. At this time of the year, I recommend taking wetsuits with you - they helped us out a lot. Regarding the dugongs: on the shore from the dive club they organize excursions for $ 25, if you don’t see them, a 50% discount. We booked a trip but didn't make it, again due to the weather.
5. Shopping in this region is sad, sad!! ! There are a few shops, but the prices are crazy!! ! Toothpaste, which we took in Sharm for $ 1 here - 5 !! ! There are basically no fruits. But we met a boy named Well, well, in a shop near the Hilton, and he brought us guava for 2 bucks a kilo and physalis for 3. Mangoes are not in season, so they didn’t even ask. I went to Egypt for the sake of Abu Dabab Bay, the hotel is located there. The price from Join up was not bad, which is why I chose this hotel. We were satisfied. This time I got together with a friend and her daughter, who swim poorly, but really wanted to see the underwater world of the Red Sea, tempted by my photos and stories. Therefore, I chose a hotel in a bay without a sharp bottom topography. In September, prices sank (it was necessary to seize the moment), but then they began to grow. Accordingly, some hotels have disappeared due to the high cost (Royal Break, Break Bay), some (Equinox, ShamsAlam) were in the stop on the scheduled dates. Pre-stopped at Aurora Bay and Pensions. But in the bay of Aurora, there is not a very good entry into the sea (rocky bottom, a long walk aground, then sharply deep), and there were a lot of negative reviews about Pension.
Unexpectedly, Join Up had quite democratic prices for Malikia, which, because of the Abu Dabab Bay, has always kept a high bar. And besides, the cost decreased every day, so I waited for it to be cheaper, taught by the bitter experience of early booking. But then the cost began to rise, so I immediately booked it, and in a timely manner (literally by the end of the day the price increased by 3000 UAH, and a few days later the hotel was in the stop until the end of November).
The flight was at night, we arrived at the hotel in the morning (at 9 o'clock), settled immediately without any problems. I see the last two reviews of this hotel are negative (mainly complaints about service and food), so I was a little worried so as not to spoil the impression of my companions, who are for the first time in Egypt and abroad in general. But everything was fine, the rest was a success.
Food: I am not a gourmet at all, as for me, then the standard set of dishes for Egyptian hotels (during my five trips to Egypt, I did not see any significant difference), everything was tasty and enough for us. To be completely objective, yes, unripe tomatoes, melons come across, some pieces of meat are peppered. But for us, these are all trifles, such trifles were not given importance.
Some in the reviews write that some kind of not so Coca-Cola and ice cream. I don't know, chemistry is chemistry. I do not think that in some hotels in bars they pour freshly squeezed juices for free or give ice cream from natural milk. True, I agree that the coffee in the dining room is not so hot, so it is better for coffee lovers to take it with them. We did just that. There are kettles in the rooms.
Staff: friendly and not intrusive. True, they didn’t take me to the room, but showed me where to go. But this fact did not strain, only saved a dollar. Once the sink got clogged and the cistern in the toilet bowl dripped - they quickly fixed it. At the reception there is Kristina - a girl from Slovakia. Since our English is not very good, when some questions arose, they turned to her more, and they understood each other very well in Ukrainian-Slovak-English.
Excursions: Popular sea excursions (Sataya, Sharm El Lully, Hamata Islands) are sold at affordable prices at the reception. On the beach - quad bikes and diving. We wanted to go to Luxor, but 6-7 hours one way, departure and arrival at night, you get more tired than you get impressions (and even more so a child), we decided to spend an extra day at sea.
Room: everything is standard, no complaints. TV - four Russian channels and one Ukrainian.
Entertainment: during the day on the beach, in the evening at the disco bar, there was even foam (I'm not a fan, but my companion took part with pleasure). Slides (adults and children), open from 10 to 12 and from 14 to 16, my girls were delighted. Well, beach volleyball, boccia, billiards, table tennis - in general, a standard set.
Sea: I won’t write much about the famous Abu Dabab bay, it has been written a million times: corals, fish, turtles - everything is in place. There were plenty of free sunbeds on the beach - choose any suitable place. True, most of the time it was windy, a red flag hung. BUT! The waves are mostly in the middle of the bay, on the edge (where the coral reefs are), as a rule, the sea was calm, quite suitable for snorkeling. And also note that when it is stormy in one part of the bay, it can be calm in the other (as I understand it, it depends on the direction of the wind). When there were waves on our side, we went to the Hilton, and it was quiet there. And in general, for good swimmers, the red flag is not a hindrance.
I basically did swims along the reefs, then swam to the middle to watch turtles, swam to the shore and did not feel much discomfort. Turtles are great, of course. I came across four at a time. You hover over it and wait for it to pop up to take a breath of air - in this moment the whole buzz. It floats up, takes a breath, falls a little lower, then rises, takes a second breath and already floats to the bottom to pluck the grass. At the moment of the ascent, you are next to her, you can touch her, the sensations cannot be conveyed.
Tours are brought from the Hilton side, so there are a lot of people, ten people around one turtle. And from the Maliki side, only your vacationers, you swim alone with turtles (maximum 2-3 people).
Another advantage of this bay is a smooth entry along the sandy bottom, and corals begin immediately, there are a lot of fish. Just right for very young children who do not know how or poorly swim and want to see the beauty of the underwater world.
The construction of the pontoon has already been completed, it should open soon. For snork lovers it will be great.
In general, the rest was super, my companions were delighted, a week was not enough. But all good things come to an end. Just waiting for the next trip.
