Hello! I really love Sharm for the incredible reefs, I go there once or twice a year, the trip to "Cyrene" was about the seventh. I will return to this hotel many more times and recommend it to friends. But perhaps different things are important for you and me, so I will describe everything in great detail - I hope this will help you with the choice.
First of all, you need to understand that, whatever one may say, hotels (and tourists) of Sharma are roughly divided into "hang out" and "swim". And the secret of the perfect hotel for you is in the perfect balance for you personally. If for some reason you are not interested in spending hours snorkeling over incredible corals, reading a book and smoking a hookah in between, but you want to have fun at a disco, meet new friends and become a beach volleyball champion - you might not really like it hotel.
In "Cyrene" there is some bias in "swimming": a magnificent, incomparable reef, many pools, a large and quiet area - everything you need for a relaxing holiday, recuperation. The animation is varied, but unobtrusive and a little relaxed: yoga, water polo in a separate pool, saxophone in the evenings.

The beach is very large, albeit a bit obtuse: a beach bar and a shower either at the other end of the beach from the pontoon, or a little up the stairs by the pools. Usually all the "amenities" are much closer to the pontoon. You just need to get used to climb after swimming to the pools, and not stomp on the beach. The pools themselves are a separate buzz: although, in a good way, they are not needed with such a reef, but there are many of them, they are beautiful, comfortable, there are fashionable infinity pools ("endless pools"), a water bar - you can, without rising from the water, get a drink and sit back with a great view.
Separately, I will praise the sunbeds: not wooden or plastic, but with a stretch mesh - it is much more hygienic and more convenient than salted crumbling mattresses.
Very good infrastructure for children: a kids club, a children's pool, the staff (as, indeed, everywhere else) loves children, drags them sweets and shells, looks after them. By the way, the hotel stands on a long coral "wall", where surprisingly there are no sea urchins - children "on the wall" splash right at the feet of their parent sunbeds, there is a depth of 30 centimeters.
The territory is quite old, that is, the landscaping is beautiful, and not three young stunted palm trees in the middle of endless lawns, as in many new hotels. There are many secluded corners and benches on the territory and right above the sea, it is always a pleasure to spend time.
Separately, I was pleasantly surprised by the service: they ask for tips much less than the average in Sharm, and they serve much better even in non-hotel infrastructure.
The Millenium Divers network dive club on the territory is very worthy, you can safely take tours from them, and not from the operator - it will come out (after a little bargaining) half the price, and the tour itself will be exactly the same, on the same yacht with the same instructors: )
And about the cons. I would not even call them minuses, these are completely standard moments for hotels in Sharm, and in Cyrene, compared to many, everything is on top - but for tourists who choose their first hotel, it will be useful.
B-zero: if you have already been to Sharm, you are used to not taking shampoo-gel-balm and other body cream with you. And here figs for you. Only disgusting hard soap is put in the rooms, and there is a soap dish with equally disgusting liquid soap in the shower. You can ask for shampoo and shower gel from the cleaner, there is simply no conditioner and cream. Don't forget to take everything.

First, the buildings and numbers. Friends, Egyptian 5* are not European 5* at all.
Well, yes, you can (easily) find stains on the curtains, chips on the furniture, dust on the balcony, garbage on the carpet, traces of water and rust on the plumbing, some kind of door will creak. Some of these problems are solved by a dollar for tea to the cleaner, and the rest is unlikely to affect the quality of rest. Just set your expectations right.
Secondly, food. It's about the same approach here: well, this is not a gourmet hotel. Gourmets in Sharm are generally hard. I have met in Sharm a buffet and better than in Cyrene - but only once. Fruit in any hotel will be seasonal. Pork (and, consequently, some delicious sausages and sausages for breakfast) will not be found anywhere. And beef, and chicken, and fish in any hotel will be cooked in centners, to a safe temperature - therefore, they cannot be juicy, fresh and not overdried or mashed into porridge on a buffet table purely technologically. Breakfasts are the same, but lunches and dinners are varied.
In "Cyrene" it is very noticeable that they try to diversify the menu: different sauces are constantly prepared, many dishes are cooked in front of you to order (for example, freshly cooked pasta or rice in a pan with additives and sauces of your choice - combine as you like), many deep-fried dishes , which are also fried in portions (that is, nothing sticky-cooled), every evening - grill. But the choice of products itself is a bit limited: you can cook pangasius in twenty different ways for a week, but it will still be pangasius, and on the third day you will still get bored.
Speaking of nutrition: Surprisingly, everything is fine with non-main nutrition. Usually "late breakfast" or "afternoon dessert" in hotels are the dried up remains of a buffet: take breakfast rolls, cut them up, put cheese and cucumber unused at breakfast, and cheers.

No, it’s not like that here - burgers and french fries are fried in the beach bar (the kids who have been swimming are delighted), ice cream is not served in the pool bar, trays of club sandwiches and ice-cold beer are dragged back and forth in the lobby bar; everything is honest.
Well, the main minus is the cleaning in the rooms. It seems that the cleaners are diligent, but, sorry, blind. Even the towel left on the floor was not replaced for me (a universal sign for replacement, after all). In general, textiles (spreads, rugs) were cleaned very poorly. No question, rugs are generally not really needed - well, don't put them in the rooms; and walking on dirty carpets is unpleasant. At the same time, the balcony was washed to a surgical cleanliness, fresh flowers were placed (well, this is after a request and a dollar), and the plumbing was polished to a shine. It is somehow strange with cleaning very much, I have not seen this.
Conclusion: the perfect hotel for relaxation.
It's great to swim, take a walk, gain strength, warm up on yoga, learn to windsurf, lie on the grass or by the pool with a book, smell flowers, take the children to dances, don't overeat on the buffet : ), be "licked" from all sides, and not fool yourself with small details.
