Egypt is an eastern country, and this, by the way, explains the peculiarities of the national cuisine: yes, the food is spicy, but moderately spicy; the range of dishes is varied for fast food lovers, and for connoisseurs of oriental food, and for adherents of European cuisine. There are few waiters, they work in pairs, a segment of the restaurant is assigned to each pair, they are extremely attentive and helpful. I have seen the situation at the beach pool more than once: a soup is sitting, a chain with a garland around his neck, he has put all the family jewels on his fingers. For the sake of interest, I ask why - in response, like, well, I'm from Moscow : )) (may the true Muscovites forgive me, I sincerely love your city) Well, be yourself a little more relaxed, simpler and friendlier, people! After all, you are on vacation, leave problems, statuses, regalia and positions at home. On vacation, everyone is equal (as in a bath), strive to enjoy life.
Animation is a separate issue. The team is international: Ukrainians, Poles, Czechs, and really boring, BUT, only after talking with one of the animators, I understood the reasons. All members of the animation are disenfranchised guest workers in the literal sense: upon arrival, their passports were taken away from them, their earnings are $ 300 per month. No one can break the contract, because they are not able to pay the penalty. There is no money for the return trip, no passports either. Draw your own conclusions. . .
The buildings adjacent to the hotel are frozen, like all construction in the country, the consequences of the recent coup are affecting. The territory of Melia Sharma, bought out 1.5 years ago, was hastily put in order. How much it was mothballed, God only knows, hence there are minor flaws in the finish...

The Russian-speaking population is about 30%, except for immigrants from the CIS, Italians, Germans, Poles, Romanians, Czechs, Turks (! ) And, sobssno, the Egyptians themselves. The abundance of Arab families during our stay (08/28/2011 -09/08/2011) just rolled over. The spectacle, to put it mildly, is not the most pleasant, which is worth some swimsuits on rather thin Egyptians : ) I was amusing myself with the thought, I'm in a foreign country, and they are at home.
In general, the territory is very beautiful and well-groomed, the design of the pools is impressive, as is the view from the room (we lived on the second floor).
