Recently returned from Melia Sharm Resort. We rested with a large company - 2 children (age 4 and 5 years old) and 7 adults (age 25-50 years old).
Actually, we were going to go to Concorde El Salam Front, but, unfortunately, at the last moment the tour operator came up with some kind of overlay and we were offered several alternative options to choose from. Having studied them, our choice fell on Melia Sharm Resort. It bribed the fact that the hotel is completely new and the fact that there was no particular negative about it in the reviews (something, and we learned to “filter” the reviews, after all, the 6th time in Egypt).

There were no problems. Settled very quickly, money was not extorted. As they rightly said about this hotel, if the sea view is not critical for you, then it doesn’t matter where you live - the hotel is very compact and getting to the main infrastructure (restaurant, pool, beach) is not a problem.

Number

Number standard for Egypt. There are no tricks, but there is nothing to complain about either.
The room has a plasma TV broadcasting 3 Russian-language channels (ORT, RTR and music), the bathroom has a bath with shower, toilet, bidet, washbasin. The air conditioner worked fine. There were also no problems with water supply. What can not be said about the power supply in the room - in some sockets there was no voltage from time to time, which caused some inconvenience.
Room cleaning
There were questions about the quality of the room cleaning, as the cleaning was more formal. Everything was done as if “slipshod” ...the tips left did not play any role.
Territory
The territory of the hotel is quite compact, as for Egypt, and rather more similar in size to a solid Turkish hotel. There are no lawns, flower beds, or just an area reserved for eco-decor here - only buildings, paths between them and pools.
From the point of view of architecture, there are no such questions, but something else confuses, everything is in a terribly “killed” state. I do not know what kind of unknown force could bring the hotel to such a state in two years? ? ? It seems that the repair is not two years old, but ten years old: here and there peeling plaster, peeling paint and broken doors on the buildings. In principle, the same can be said about the territory - the gardeners are clearly not overworked: all their work was reduced to mowing the lawn with a lawn mower, trimming bushes with chainsaws and breaking grass along the paths. I have never seen such a stupidly laid and non-working irrigation system in any hotel, just like I have never met such a quantity of greenery dried up from the heat. Of course, managers here and there bawl at gardeners, but the effect is zero.

By the way, there were also questions about the cleanliness of the territory - for example, we noticed a couple of bottles that were lying along the path, and so we saw them all the rest - there was simply no one to remove them. The pool, which with a bar and a children's pool were carefully cleaned - there are no questions, but the hands of the staff obviously did not reach the pool, which is closer to the reception ...a couple of times we went there, but there was no desire to swim among the foliage and bottles. Therefore, there is no one there.
I would like to note that a week after our arrival, we noticed the hyper-activity of the entire hotel staff - they cleaned everything, scrubbed, some walls of the buildings were re-plastered and repainted, plants were transplanted. Among the "Russian-speaking diaspora" on the beach there was a rumor that, they say, the owner was coming and the repair and restoration fuss was connected with this. Everything turned out to be simpler - this hotel was being prepared for photo / video shooting, for some kind of catalog.
Then, indeed, we watched the filming process for half a day.
So in the three preparatory days, they really fixed a lot of things, especially what is visible and conspicuous. I think that if they had worked at such a pace for a couple of weeks, I would have no comments on the hotel at all!

Pools
All the "movement" in the hotels takes place near the pool with a bar. It is simply not realistic to take sun loungers there, since almost all of them are “booked” from the attendants for a dollar. But you can freely lie down near the children's pool, and this is only ten meters away.
Beach
The beach is good. It is convenient that a smooth entrance to the sea - you can safely let the children play in the surf. Enough loungers. The beach has its own bar, a massage cabin and a tent for issuing towels, only towels on the beach are not given or accepted for unknown reasons, you can take them in the same tent near the children's pool.
Reef
The reef is excellent, there is something to see even for those who are not the first time in Egypt, and it will simply delight beginners! In the sea, you can freely meet turtles, octopuses and Napoleon, who lives on the reef under the pontoon. The red flag was hung out only once in two weeks, so those who wish to see the beauty of the Red Sea have all the cards in their hands! By the way, they say that in the neighboring hotel (Melia Sinai) the reef is even cooler, but I can’t confirm or deny, because I haven’t been there.
Nutrition

The food at the hotel is good. The choice of dishes is not very large, but absolutely everything is edible! But it happens quite the opposite ...Every evening for dinner, a dish from the chef and barbecue dishes on the terrace of the restaurant. Juices in the restaurant and bars only from tetrapacks, cola, fanta, sprite - from branded bottles, Stella beer is poured from cans, the rest of the alcohol is standard local production.
The bars make good cocktails, there are a couple of options for milkshakes for children. After dinner, the bars give ice cream, also quite tolerable.
Visited an Italian a la carte restaurant - not impressed. They offer slightly modified dishes from the main restaurant. We ordered dinner for three people: vegetables on the grill, seafood on the grill (albeit in a decent amount) and a bottle of wine cost us $ 240.
Animation
There is practically no animation in hotels. It comes down to pathetic attempts to do water gymnastics in the morning, as a result of which the entire animation team and three / five people of drunken Poles / Italians are involved, and so the animators loiter around the territory and play the role of “interlocutors”. What killed me the most was the complete absence of a program for children. Evening disco and that's it, no options ...Could we at least organize some kind of competitions for children, or at least evening cartoons?
There is a children's club on the territory, through the glass doors of which you can see a girl-animator for children sleeping on the table. For all the time we did not see a single child in the kids club ...I wonder what she is paid for?
By the way, as I said above, we caught a photo / video filming of the hotel for the catalog - so the animators dressed up as giant dolls and ran in a crowd of children around the pool in front of the camera lenses. That's the excitement among the kids was! Why such shows can not be held regularly is not clear? !
Service
The hotel has a support service for Russian-speaking tourists. Unfortunately, the girls are not always there, but it is not difficult to find them in the reception area. They really help in absolutely all situations, for which many thanks to them ! ! !

I would like to note that the disadvantages noted by me are not the point of view of an overly picky person, we went on vacation in good company, with a good mood and a desire to have a good time, and the described negative points could not spoil our vacation. In general, we are satisfied with the rest, but we will not return to this hotel for sure! I think there is a lot of negativity in my review about the appearance of the hotel, as we expected to see the exact opposite, bribing the fact that the hotel is brand new!
