I want to leave a review about our 9th vacation in Egypt, maybe it will be useful for someone when choosing a hotel. We rested with my husband from 04/03/2014 to 04/10/2014.2nd time in this hotel, the first time we rested in March 2013. We make quite high demands on the conditions of rest, even our travel agent calls us “spoiled tourists”.
Choosing a hotel: it was very difficult, I wanted to return to MELIA SHARM and did not want to at the same time. I wanted to, because last year the hotel left a very good impression, did not want to, because. we haven't seen many reefs in sharm el sheikh yet. In addition, we have a sad experience from a second visit to another hotel in Sharm El Sheikh, which brought complete disappointment. After reading hundreds of reviews, they did not find a worthy alternative to the reef / price / quality of "MELIA SHARM". Transfer: Flight Kyiv - Sharm El Sheikh "Boeing 737-900" UIA airline, travel time is about 4 hours. I was struck by the savings on food (for the entire flight they gave 1 sandwich) and a very small space between the seats. But in general, everything is fine.

We didn't buy a visa. The transfer to the hotel took 20 minutes.
Check-in: We were at the hotel at 9-00, the reception asked to wait until 10-00. We changed and went to the sea. At the appointed time, the room was ready, we were told that, since we are the second time in the hotel, we are given a room on the third floor with a sea view without additional charges (last year we had a room on the first floor with a view of the lawn). The bracelets were put on at 10-30.
Rooms: given a room on the 3rd floor with stunning views of the main building, pools, lobby fountains and the sea. Immediately brought a "compliment" from the hotel in the form of a plate of apples and chocolate. Medium sized room, cozy and clean. The minibar is filled once upon arrival with soft drinks. There is a kettle and tea and coffee set which is replenished regularly. The room has 2 large beds, a safe, normal plumbing, mirrors, wardrobes, 2 armchairs and a table, in general, there are all conditions for a normal rest. There are no bathrobes and slippers, but this does not interfere with a good rest. On the balcony there are 2 chairs and a table. The soundproofing from the corridor is very weak, you can hear everything. The cleaner worked conscientiously, in addition, he regularly pampered with “creative towels”. We, in turn, tried to thank him every day with a tip for his diligence.
Hotel and territory: I was pleased that the hotel remained as beautiful, well-groomed, cozy and familiar. Snow-white buildings, a huge 3-storey lobby, coffee shops, marble. In some places, plaster is crumbling, but you need to understand that the hotel is located next to the sea, there are winds and the forces of nature are doing their job. The territory is still very green and well-groomed, flowers are everywhere. Beautiful clean cascading pools with panoramic sea views. At night, illuminated fountains near the lobby. CLASS!! ! You can walk along the promenade to the end of the bay past other hotels, do some shopping on the shopping street near the Baron Hotel. On the territory of the neighboring hotel "MELIA SINAI", which is part of the same network with "MELIA SHARM", there is a snow-white lighthouse. You can climb it and look at the bay from a bird's eye view.

Food: Compared to last year, there is a slight saving. But this savings, fortunately, only affected the quantity of dishes, not the quality. The freshness of the products remained excellent, there were no poisonings. We were never hungry, we always found something for ourselves. Breakfast is standard: eggs of all kinds, yogurt, porridge, fruits and vegetables, occasionally there was bacon. For lunch and dinner, 2 types of soup, vegetables, side dishes, salads, meat. They sometimes served tuna, octopus and other seafood. Every evening they cook something on the grill. If the dish is over, after 5 minutes they bring a new one. From 11-00 to 17-00 in the bars by the pool and on the beach they prepare fast food, quite tasty (french fries, hamburger, hot dog, shawarma, vegetables, I especially liked the tuna burger))))))). In general, many thanks to the chefs!
We didn’t go to paid a la carte of our hotel, for the 4th time we went to a paid seafood restaurant on the beach of the MELIA SINAI hotel. We had dinner by the sea. Tables right on the beach with lights 5 m from the sea, candles, the sound of the surf, quiet music, excellent service and an appetizing dish. On a platter: half a lobster, huge shrimp, fish. 1 course is accompanied by 4 very decent salads, seafood soup and a basket of bread. This pleasure costs 30 dollars. USA for 2. Delicious! One meal was more than enough for 2 of us. I would like to warn tourists: do not take free alcohol there, bring your own. Alcohol "MELIA SINAI" is much worse than in "MELIA SHARM", the wine has a paste taste.
Bars: They operate in the lobby, on the beach and by the pools. The all-inclusive system operates around the clock in the lobby, beach and pool bars are open until sunset. Juices only in packages, no chemical vodka, tonic from cans. There are excellent quality espresso machines and tea bags. There are alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails (I liked “tequila boom”), the choice is large, any of your fantasies will be individually realized in a glass if you have the appropriate ingredients. Very good "canned" beer, good white wine in the lobby and main restaurant. Strong alcohol this year is of much better quality than last year.
Service: last year the service was at a good level, but this year it has improved even more. Regular guests are treated like sacred cows. Everything is done instantly and with a smile, surrounded by attention and care. No discrimination based on nationality. 3 times in the room brought a compliment from the hotel. Special thanks to the guest managers. Almost every day they called the room, asked if everything was in order. The front desk was quick to respond to all requests. We found mosquitoes in the room, a few minutes after the appeal, an employee came, accompanied by a security guard, and the living creatures were destroyed. Wonderful new team of bartenders and waiters at the beach bar. Often orders were brought directly to the sunbed. Many thanks to all the hotel staff for the service!

Animation: The animation team has been updated. The guys are very funny and active. I was very pleased with the aqua aerobics with a positive charge. Evening entertainment remained at a high level: karaoke, live music, saxophone, dance and fakir shows and an incomparable very expensive "imported" show with lights and ballet. Guys, thanks a lot!
And most importantly, the beach and the SEA: the beach is clean, cleaned, new sun loungers, enough towels, there is always a place, you don’t need to take it from the night. Wonderful beach bar with toilets, showers on the beach. A floating pontoon 100 m long. For us, walking 100 m to the “beauty” is not a problem (especially with such a diet), we also rested in hotels with a 700-meter pontoon.
SEA: The hotel is located in the Montazah Ras Nasrani (Christian Bowl) bay, which is very good for snorkeling and diving. The coral cascading gardens are magnificent, you can lose the feeling of reality while swimming. There is one but: this year there are much fewer large fish than in March last year. Could not understand what happened, the holiday season is the same. I think they found a clue on the pontoon of the neighboring MELIA SINAI. This year it was turned into an amusement park. Near the pontoon, many motor boats are laid up and offer their services, which depart directly from the pontoon. A characteristic smell of fuel appeared in the air, it became very noisy due to the operation of the engines, boats rush across the sea, forcing swimmers to cuddle almost close to the corals. The Red Sea does not like such an attitude. The reef may become impoverished and begin to die. I beg you to draw the management of the hotel group to this attention !!!! ! In addition, now, because of the boats from the MELIA SINAI pontoon, it is impossible to swim towards the White Knight's Bay, and the area there is incomparable. We tried, a beach-boy began to whistle at us, demanded that we get out of the sea, threatened with problems at the reception. We quarreled with him and sailed south, hitting the boats. And during this swim, we realized our dream and saw a huge eagle stingray. Impressive inhabitant of the Red Sea!
EXCURSIONS: we took night snorkeling at the local diving center. We were given equipment and underwater lights, we had an instructor with us, under whose supervision we swam after sunset. We saw moray eels, lionfish and 2 huge hedgehog fish. Liked.

The overall impression from the second visit to the hotel: the hotel has maintained its high level at a reasonable price. You can feel the savings a little, but what hotel doesn't have it now? This is more than offset by improved service and animation. Everything was great!!! ! Would you like to come back for the 3rd time? Definitely yes!!!!!
