Accommodation and room.
We arrived at the hotel after 9 pm. We were not immediately settled: they took our data and sent us to dinner. As we always do, we asked the administrator to give a room with a sea view or at least closer to the sea. We put $15 in the passport to boost the stimulus and welfare of the local economy and hinted that the hotel has rooms after renovation, like we want to go there. In response, they heard that the renovation at the hotel is not carried out at all, the hotel is filled to capacity, and if we want a sea view, we have to pay an extra $ 30 per day. As it turned out later, there were a lot of free rooms in the hotel. In buildings that are closer to the sea, either those who agree to pay extra, or representatives of higher races are accommodated. So there are a lot of free rooms in them.
Anyway. The administrator showed us the map of the hotel and suggested building 26. The location suited us: 0.5 minutes to the restaurant, the same amount to the pool and 4 minutes to the beach.

We waited a long time for the porter. He came, showed us where to go, loaded our suitcases into an electric car and delivered them in 15 minutes. We went into the room. The first thing that caught my eye was the ragged dirty curtains. As if we were not expected. The furniture is old, the refrigerator does not work for cooling, but for heating. The walls are clean and the pictures are beautiful. The mirror is splattered and splattered. The air conditioner operates in two modes - "polar cold" and fan. If you turn on the "polar cold", you need blankets. They took out one from the closet, but it was so dirty that they preferred to cool the room first, and then sleep in fan mode. Air conditioning rattles, but not critical.
There was also a broken kettle in the room. Included with him were cups, glasses, tea bags, sugar, coffee, which I never used. There were beach towels but no bath towels. The TV is new, working, but most of the channels are with sea ripples.
Our room was on the ground floor, instead of a balcony there was a terrace with two armchairs and a table. It looks like the dust has never been cleaned there. Everything worked in the bathroom, there was shampoo, shower gel, conditioner, body gel, toothbrushes and paste. Some rooms also had washcloths. The tub and toilet have not been cleaned since the grand opening of the hotel. The tile near the toilet is covered with suspicious brown spots. It feels like someone was torn apart while trying to land on the toilet. Good thing there was no sewer smell.
In the daytime, only boiling water flows from the shower, in which direction you do not turn the tap, so you can wash normally only late in the evening. There is one free socket in the room, so we always carry a tee with us. Mosquitoes in the room did not seem to fly, but in the morning they found bites. Inspection of bed linen for the presence of insects did not give results.
The linen itself is so thin that the body is visible through it. Cheap handkerchiefs are usually sewn from such fabric. The safe worked but we didn't use it. What five stars can we talk about if there are no slippers, bathrobes, an iron, an ironing board, a notepad, a pen, a “Do Not Disturb” sign in the room? Bath towels were brought to us only late at night and then only one set. The only plus of the room is the proximity to the main restaurant and the pool. We were lucky: other tourists settled into their rooms with unchanged bed linen! They had a whole night epic of communication with the hotel administrators, which never led to anything: people were forced to sleep on dirty linen.
Territory.

The territory of the hotel is relatively large, well-groomed. Not to say that it is directly buried in greenery, but palm trees are earing, bougainvilleas and other plants are blooming, there are many cacti.
All this somehow brightens up the general dilapidation and decline of the hotel. Many lawns are planted with rare flowers, but no grass, which creates a depressing impression. Near the entrance to the hotel there is a pharmacy, small shops where you can buy souvenirs, beach accessories, food, local spirits, "signature" handbags, etc. There is also a small shop with fruits, camel thorns, teas and oils. There are also hotel taxi drivers who are ready to take you anywhere in Sharm at a tripled rate (it's easier and cheaper to get on the road and catch a taxi there). I really liked the birdhouse with parrots and pigeons. The caretaker gives a handful of seeds to feed the birds. You can go and see once. The kids will love it. Abandoned enclosures next to the poultry house testify that other exotic animals lived here in better times.
Every evening, a hotel worker in a space suit etchs the area with smoke from mosquitoes. Apparently, mosquitoes have already developed immunity to such smoke attacks, because in the evenings they simply rage. Stock up on aerosols.
Pool and beach.
For the first time we really liked the pool. As a rule, on previous trips we did not use the pool at all. But here I had to. In other hotels, we always woke up, went to breakfast by 7 am, and then immediately to the beach. Here the order had to be changed. You come to the beach with a long pontoon at 7.30 - all the trump spots in the shade are already taken, only sun loungers remain under the scorching sun. According to some vacationers, the best places are taken at sunrise (4 am) - they put towels, beach accessories and either leave or leave the head of the family on duty.
Then the whole family rows up to the beach by 9 o’clock, and the sleepy dad goes to a restaurant and brings breakfast to his entire brood. Very comfortably!

Lots of stairs! In the very distance, behind the grill restaurant there is an elevator, but why it was made in that inconvenient place for everyone remains a mystery. The beach below the amphitheater is always empty as there is no access to the sea. On the beach with a turret, the pontoon has never been opened, there were free sunbeds even at 9 am, but this beach is more convenient for those who like to lie around and drink all the bar alcohol. There is a lot of crowding there. The pontoons officially opened at 8 a. m. , but many climbed into the water long before the opening. We still seemed more comfortable beach with a long pontoon. They came in the morning, placed their things on hot, uncovered loungers and went for a swim. By 10 am moved to the pool. We got back to the beach around 5pm.
00 - at this time it is already easier to endure the heat, since the shadow from the rock covers almost the entire area with sunbeds. In winter, obviously, it will not be comfortable, because it will be cold.
The beach itself is very picturesque, and they pecked at it when choosing a hotel: beautiful rocks, palm trees, replicas of ancient Egyptian statues, an arched corridor between the beaches, etc. The coral reef shows signs of life in places. The assortment of fish is standard, but at different times of the day their number varies: at one time there are not very many fish, and at another you swim right among the shoals. We saw stingrays, moray eels, and lionfish, a lot of crabs. In principle, you can get pleasure from contemplating the underwater world. But the state of the pontoons themselves, of course, is deplorable ...The long one, which is flooded at high tide, is made of concrete pillars, on the surface of which you can injure your legs in places.
Near the edge of the pier, these posts are completely overgrown with slippery moss, people just fall. When on one of the sunny and joyful days the chief lifeguard slipped and fell in that place, the next day two workers were sent there with cleaning brushes, and they were sent at high tide, so they drank plenty of water. As a result of their two days of work, only 8 columns were cleared. The rest decided not to touch (there the authorities did not fall). The stairs are extremely uncomfortable, the handrails along the pontoon are made of flimsy plastic pipes. If you fall and grab onto such a pipe, you will pull the entire structure with you to the very shore. The second pontoon is short, but it is high above the water, and the stairs are extremely uncomfortable, it is very inconvenient to go down with flippers. The shortest pontoon, where the greatest depth is, has never been opened. The long pontoon was closed a couple of times, explaining that something had broken there.

What else can break on these ruins? ! It's just, obviously, they don't have enough rescuers, so they save on the protection of facilities. Beach umbrellas are narrow, create little shade, require overlap, but there is no money for this.
There are bars on the beaches, but the service there is worse than at the pool bar: no matter how you come, something is already gone. So you just opened up, how is it cola or is there no sprite? Rolled 2 barrels of beer, but no beer. Too lazy to connect? Sunbeds are wooden, just killed. In some places there are newer, plastic ones. They wipe them with a dirty rag and sweep the sand with a brush only after 8 in the morning, when the most thirsty seas are already in place.
Behind the grill restaurant, if you go to the right and go down, there is a small beach with a secluded place under the rock. There are several sun loungers, there is no scorching sun, but there is complete privacy on the verge of intimacy. The only negative is that if you want to plunge into the sea, you will have to go to neighboring beaches.
Near the pool there were free sunbeds at any time. If you have strong legs, you can sit there, and then jump up the stairs to the beach and back. There is a toilet behind the bar and under the amphitheater below the pool. The pool is clean, disinfected, but two days in a row after lunch it was closed until 18.00 for additional cleaning: exceeding the level of urine (Middle Eastern children…).
Near the hotel.
There are nearby hotels nearby. A 10-minute walk - a small area with shops, restaurants and other establishments.
Nutrition.
It was the food that shocked us on the first evening of our arrival. For the "five" a very meager assortment. You can write as much as you like #you won't leave hungry, #everything was very tasty, #desserts are great, etc. No, the food is just a disgrace to the hotel. There was a lack of elementary things - greens, salads, onions, sauces. No matter how you come, there are no tomatoes or cucumbers or both.

Yes, there are side dishes - rice, potatoes of various types, pasta, legumes, vegetable stews. Potatoes are sometimes undercooked. There was very tasty beef, chicken, oxtails, fish. But all this had to literally seek out and choose very carefully. The beef is often too tough and the chicken is burnt. I have never eaten such disgusting soups in any other hotel. The desserts on offer are shameful even for a two star hotel. The tray labeled "Seafood" usually contains claws, legs, and fragments of crab shells. It is absolutely inedible, but the main thing is to say: we have seafood, we have 5 stars, we meet all the criteria. Once they served squid rings in batter, but they were so burned that people thought they were onion rings for beer. From fruits - grapes, plums, dates, melon, watermelon.
For breakfast, for the first time, I simply did not want to go. People used to make fun of people who take boiled eggs for breakfast.
On this trip, we almost joined this category. Yes, they fry eggs and omelettes, but you won’t eat them every day. I always wanted to find out the recipe for the disgusting dough from which they made pancakes and donuts. How bad can pancakes be? There are standard for Egypt sausage and cheese cuts, sausages. In other hotels, we somehow ate it, but here they had such a disgusting taste that they reduced our choice of dishes for breakfast to zero. Tea and coffee during breakfast can be served from kettles in the dining room. For some reason, you have to go to the bar for them at lunchtime and during dinner.
There were no long queues at the restaurant. Sometimes I had to stand for 7 minutes for french fries, pizza or chicken at the pool bar at 16.00, but this is not critical. Fruits were also available there.
We liked the restaurant on the beach better: the assortment is small, but there is the most basic thing, no queues, a lot of free tables, a view of the sea + you can sit in wet swimming trunks. Local alcohol in bars is not for everyone, the beer is normal, light, you can drink it. Bottled water is sometimes poured on the beach, but it is warm and stronger. I was surprised that in different bars gin, poured from bottles with the same labels, was very different in taste - from sweet syrup to acetone.
Hotel contingent.
Most of the hotel guests are locals, Russians, Kazakhs, representatives of Algeria, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, many British, Germans, Italians. There were no signs of dislike for the Russians on the part of the hotel staff, however, the locals in the bars are served first. If you speak English, it will be easier for the staff to get along with you. Locals visit the hotel with whole families of all generations.

Unlike other hotels, here no one was pulled by the hand, like “let's go play darts”, but, nevertheless, the animators tried. I really liked the exercises and water aerobics in the pool: both women and men participated, everything is fun, international, incendiary and good for health. There was always the opportunity to play volleyball and water polo in the pool. All events were accompanied by an elderly Italian DJ. Every day, invited guests perform by the pool - dancers, circus performers. The Latin dancers were just amazing! In the evenings, all sorts of short shows were arranged in the amphitheater with belly dancing and skirt twirling with LED lights. You can go a couple of times. Near the main restaurant in the evening you can sit and dance to the songs of performers replacing each other every other day. In principle, you can have fun in the hotel. Alcohol is especially helpful.
Lifeguards are on duty on the beaches, but it happens that none of them are on the long pontoon. During our 12-day stay, sharks were spotted 3 times: one of the divers saw a small tiger shark, the other a small sand shark - all this according to them and according to unconfirmed reports. But once during my stay in the water, several people saw an easily recognizable fin in the distance right from the pontoon. Miraculously, everyone literally ascended onto the pontoon on foot! Each case was reported to the rescuer, but he always answered that there were no sharks here, it was tuna / big carp / pike, etc. When they saw the fin from the pontoon, he put on a mask, flippers and swam in that direction for reconnaissance. At this time, everyone stood on the pontoon and rejoiced at the epic nature of what was happening, secretly hoping that someone would still be devoured, it would be possible to film it on the phone and become an Instagram star.
But no, upon returning, the rescuer said that there was no one in the depths, everyone dreamed of everything, you can swim, and everyone, slightly disappointed, climbed into the water again. After these episodes, our swims in the early morning hours we abruptly stopped ...In all my 10 trips to Egypt, this happens for the first time. When descending into the water on a long pontoon, there really is an aggressive surgeon fish: it bites someone, it cuts my leg. Not critical, but the scar will remain.
Service.
You can write a lot about the service, or rather, about its absence. When you check into a five-star hotel, you somehow don’t expect that the change of beach and bath towels is made only by calling the reception. How is that in general? During our stay the bed linen was not changed even once.

Cleaning is symbolic: replenishment of stocks of soap, shampoos, toilet paper, a bottle of water, making beds, removing garbage from containers, lightly touching the floor with a brush, spraying the carpet with aromatic liquid. This is all. Left once a few dollars. There were no changes: swans and Nile crocodiles, woven from towels and strewn with bougainvillea petals, did not appear on the beds. Of course, we didn’t need them, but you can at least change the towels?!
Administrators speak Russian and English, but if problems arise, they lose all the skills to understand any language.
The bartenders are polite, pour without restrictions, deliver drinks by the pool and on the beach (if you ask). The restaurant was never approached.
The best service around the pool: all drinks are always available, friendly, albeit gloomy, bartenders, lucky ones carry ice towels, the presence of a restaurant with a snack at 16.
00, regular cleaning of the territory, good sunbeds and umbrellas.
Loved the hotel spa. We bought 5 massage sessions for 50 minutes and really did not regret it. Sauna, shower, jacuzzi, high-quality foot, hand, body, head massage (intensity is immediately negotiated with the masseur) and a cooling face mask. Real thrill! After the first sessions, my neck began to turn again without pain.
The greed of the hotel knows no bounds… How can you demand payment for the first breakfast? ! How can you cut off a bracelet from a person who is checking out of a hotel and leave him without lunch and dinner? ! With such a concept, soon only locals will rest in this hotel, for whom it probably seems luxurious.
We didn't use the hotel internet because we bought sim cards at the airport.

Hotel guides (bastards).
I don't even want to write about them. We read about them in previous comments, but we have never seen such frank rudeness and arrogance.

At the “mandatory” briefing visit, at the beginning they will tell you what bad tourists are, that you need to buy excursions only from Anex, and if you go with other companies, no one will save you, because insurance is only through Anex. Excursions are 1.5-2 times more expensive than other proven companies. They asked how much the trip to Petra cost, and he started to play around, like I need to see your voucher first. Zero information about hotel services. Just buy excursions. He refused to take a voucher: “Now I will sell excursions, and bring the voucher at 11.30. I will not accept a voucher in the lobby at the Anex counter. If you don't bring it here, rest as you please, but don't be surprised if you don't find information about your flight later. " Rare scum...People just arrived, I want to go to the sea to see, take a dip, no - everyone has to wait 11.30 to return the voucher. Just the god of Egypt!
As a result, we bought a trip to Petra for two from another company (saving $300) and, as it turned out later, our trip turned out to be much more interesting and meaningful than that offered by Anex.
It's high time for Anex to deal with his guides. They begin to show their arrogance and rudeness while being escorted from the airport to the hotel. Instead of useful information about the place of stay, they begin to intimidate, ask tricky questions about knowledge of the history of Egypt. Well, tell us if you're such an expert. No! If you want to know why cats were put in the tombs of the pharaohs, read on the Internet. Aneks, who did you hire?!
Departure from the hotel.
For 20 min. Before check-out, the administrator called and reminded that everything, it's time to move out. Of course, they forgot to send a porter for our suitcases. We hand over the electronic keys to the room, and they tell us: "You must hand over not 2, but 3 keys. "
I had to slightly raise my voice and explain that we were resting together, we were given 2 keys, we did not need the third one. Probably, we still raised our voice too much, because the administrator was a little taken aback and even forgot to cut off our bracelets. It was very useful for us, so we spent the rest of the day by the pool, enjoying the services of the bar and having lunch in a restaurant by the sea.
Departure from the hotel was on time, without crowds, but with the final check in the shops on the way to the airport. For what?!
General conclusions.
The hotel is in its decline. Picturesque rocks on the beach, a coral reef, good service near the pool, cacti and palm trees - all this will not save the hotel from fading without a major overhaul, a change in staff and attitude towards visiting tourists. Greed in everything...
Recommendations.
I do not recommend. The living conditions and service in the hotel absolutely do not correspond to the declared price.

We had a good rest, but, probably, mainly due to our boundless optimism, love of life and the change of the usual concept of rest near the sea to rest in British style (near the pool). You will never want to return to this hotel.
