My husband and I chose this hotel on the recommendation of our friends. We looked at reviews about the hotel and realized that the hotel is not bad, and people who write bad things find fault with the little things or do not know the rules of the hotel at all. We bought a ticket to the Anex tour. After that, our other friends decided to go with us to this hotel.
We arrived at the hotel at 2330 at night. We waited for check-in for about an hour. The Egyptians, who were sitting next to us in the hall, were just as waiting as we were, there was no special attitude towards them. So, since we had a regular room (promo room) on the tour, but we wanted an improved one, we paid $ 10 extra and were settled on the second floor in the main building in a superior room. I want to note that NEVER buy a ticket with a superior or deluxe room to the operator’s tour, since the hotel doesn’t even look at it, it’s better to give $ 10 or 20 on the spot and then you will be accommodated wherever you want.
They put bracelets on us and the porter Said took us to the room and carried the luggage. We liked the room. Comfortable clean bed, bedside tables, table, TV, coffee table, armchair and chair. From the room you can go to the balcony, where there is a table and two chairs. There is also a hairdryer in the room. Shower gel, wipes, towels it was all there. A snack was waiting for us on the table (two buns with sausage, cheese and vegetables, two fruits and two yogurts). They gave 4 bottles of 0.5 liters of water (they are given once, then you need to dial in the bar in the lobby, it was not difficult for us).

The bed is very comfortable, we slept well. The TV worked, there were Ukrainian and Russian channels. There were no complaints about the air conditioner either.
What I did not like about the room itself was that the shower did not have a door, just one wall and water was splashed all over the bathroom. I also didn’t like that the toilet was dirty as we drove in and hair was lying on the floor in the corner of the room. We left the cleaner every other day either chocolate or $ 1, he cleaned the toilet, always made the bed, twisted hearts and swans out of towels, but the hair in the corner lay until the end of our stay. But for us, these are all trifles, we did not pay much attention to this, we focused on relaxation and positive moments.
We really liked the hotel itself, and the interior and furniture and everything on the street is beautiful. It's not 100% clean, but there's no obvious dirt or mess either.
All the staff treated us politely, friendly, asked if we had any problems.
The restaurant had a lot of different food. For breakfast, you can say proper nutrition (cereals, milk, boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, pastries, bean porridge, etc. )
For lunch and dinner there was a lot of different food. Almost all food is delicious, and desserts are generally something so tasty that the chefs would take them home. We lacked only seafood, although they gave squid with vegetables several times, but we wanted shrimp. My friends and I ate shrimp twice at the old market in a cafe next to the mosque, near the sweet shop. It's not expensive and very tasty.
The waiters at the hotel are almost all gloomy, but there were a few cheerful guys, the waiter Said served us very well, always welcomed us to the restaurant, brought us alcohol and immediately remembered who was drinking what, very attentive.

We were at a meeting that the Guide appointed for us, it is not required, but purely out of courtesy, we went. He spoke a little about the hotel, and then began to talk at length about excursions. We didn’t admit that it was the first time in Egypt and we did the right thing, the price of the excursions, which he announced to everyone at the meeting, was halved when he called my husband and I to talk alone, because he realized that we couldn’t be deceived, but still it is expensive and we refused.
We swam mainly in the right pool on the roof, there were also on the left one on the roof, they are warmer. We also swam in the pool on the ground floor, it is very large, beautiful, but the water is cool. There were Arabs in the pools, but they did not bother us in any way and they never had any complaints against us.
We went 1 time to the reef beach (you need to buy tickets at the hotel, $ 1 cheaper) and 4 times to the sandy one. The reef is beautiful, there are a lot of corals and fish, but we got enough of them at one time and went to another beach. On the sandy beach, the sun loungers are worse, but there are normal ones, and we didn’t lie too much, we swam a lot. The bus goes to the beach once an hour.
Excursions bought from Mika opposite the hotel for the advice of our friends. We took an excursion where the city of Dahab, the blue lagoon, quad bikes, camels, canyon, Bedouins and the bazaar. We liked everything very much. Only now they fooled us, they told us to definitely rent fins, a vest, a wetsuit and a mask. In fact, all this only hindered us. Fins did not allow swimming normally, a wetsuit is also absolutely not needed. A vest is also not necessary, as the water is dense and will not let you drown even if you want to! ! The only thing you really need is a mask to look at the reefs and fish. Do not buy shoes from Mika either, only a kharabatka (a scarf on your head and face) so that you can ride ATVs. The tour took all day, we returned for dinner. We left at 8 in the morning and returned at 1900. Lunch is included in the price of the tour, but after that dinner I got food poisoning. Only I got poisoned, neither my husband, nor my girlfriend and husband were poisoned. And I had a fun night in the bathroom and a fun 4 days after. ALWAYS take with you to Egypt a sorbent (such as Smecta) and an antibiotic for poisoning (such as Trichopolum) without it! Also, do not pounce on vegetables and legumes in the restaurant, as they are also high in nitrates, like all vegetables in Egypt in general. Eat meat, seafood, pastries, but less vegetables, especially raw ones. By the end of the holiday, both my husband and my girlfriend were poisoned. We think it's an intestinal infection on the lunch tour. Because it was very dirty there and we sat on the floor on pillows and they gave us lunch there, and there were 5 or 6 cats and a dog around. I don't recommend you eat there. It's better to take something with you. But the tour is very good, the main thing is not to rent unnecessary things and there is no food there. By the way, on excursions with a guide, people also poisoned themselves, this is a common occurrence in Egypt.

In the evenings, the hotel on the roof had either live music, contests, or fire shows. We liked every other time. The Internet does not catch in the rooms, but there is one in the lobby near the reception, you can also call on viber and send a photo.
We went to the old market several times, bargained with sellers, this can and should be done, do not take the goods right away, it sometimes costs 10 times less.
To sum it up, the hotel is great! I recommend to everyone! There are practically no disadvantages.
The only drawbacks and then the little things - this is not 100% cleaning in the room, but this is important to someone, and to whom it is not. If you want impeccability in everything, then take a ticket to the hotel for $500 or even $1000 more.
When we were driving back to the airport, we called for people in other hotels and we concluded that our hotel, in comparison with many others, is the best, beautiful and in European style, more intelligent and refined. Our holiday was a success! I recommend Il Mercato! We'll be back again and again!
