Rested in Il Mercato with an adult son in late June - early July. The overall impression was very good. Now for the points.
The hotel consists of a "palace" (central building) and a long "Italian" street. In the "palace" there are only suites and family rooms, and all standards are in the buildings of the street. Therefore, when settling in, someone will be lucky: if your standard is not far from the "palace", then it will not be difficult to get to the reception, restaurant, bar and pools, but if somewhere in the middle of the street... True, for such cases the hotel has a staff of electric car drivers.
Since we were brought from the airport to the hotel early in the morning, the settlement had to wait until 13 o'clock. But immediately upon arrival, they put bracelets on our hands and sent us to breakfast.

We lived in a standard not far from the "palace". The room was good and even with a balcony, but the first impression was depressing: shabby with time, with non-working floor lamps and a refrigerator, a broken dispenser for liquid soap. True, plumbing, hair dryer, air conditioning, TV and safe worked properly. And there were no mosquitoes.
From the very first minute after checking into the room, the maid took us into circulation - it seemed like he was trying to please us, while he was very intrusive and immediately wanted baksheesh. By the way, he cleaned badly, while either he didn’t add towels, or a roll of toilet paper. And for the last three days, he didn’t clean the room at all.
However, it turned out to be the only hotel employee that we did not like. Everyone else is great! Friendly, smiling, attentive. We really liked the Russian-speaking girl Kristina, who sits near the reception: she helped us change the money in the machine, and replaced the refrigerator with a working one, and provided assistance in solving other current issues. So special thanks to her.
Nutrition. The food was good, we enjoyed it very much. True, with a large influx of guests, a queue formed near the distribution, and the waiters did not have time to serve the tables, but they tried very hard. By the way, the restaurant does not have a bar counter, therefore, in order to drink beer or wine while eating, you need to catch a guy running between the tables delivering alcoholic drinks and make him an order. You can dine once for free at the a-la carte Italian restaurant on the rooftop. Pre-registration with a choice of menu can be made at Christina's.
Beaches. All four beaches (sandy in the bay are free, and three on the reefs are paid) are good in their own way, we were at all. Most of all we liked the paid Phanar and Palma. Here, the conditions for recreation are good, and the reefs are interesting. However, beach buses do not have time to transport everyone at a time, so we came to the landing 10-15 minutes before the departure of the buses.
As for the animation... There are definitely animators in the hotel - funny and nice guys and girls. We saw them daily before dinner and after it - during fairly good evening shows on the roof. Haven't seen it during the day. . .

The hotel guide from the "Anex Tour" named Noah, unfortunately (and expectedly) left an unpleasant impression about himself. He began to offer overpriced tours around 9 a. m. , but as a petty revenge, he only registered for those who refused excursions at 11 a. m. (although he had an assistant who, sitting at a separate table, could well “register "of all "refuseniks" immediately within three minutes). So, by the grace of Noah, we were left without a morning beach on the sea, replacing it with a pool.
In general, I repeat, we liked to relax in Il Mercato. The hotel staff tries, but with a large number of guests, it is difficult to cope with the load. In general, I can give the hotel 8 out of 10.
