Catch a fresh review of the Grand Plaza. In Egypt... the eleventh time, not an advertising agent, not a representative of a travel agency, I express my subjective opinion, which may not coincide with the rest of the reviews, but nonetheless.
Time. August 18-27, Aneks, departure from Kyiv. We arrived at the hotel at 23:00, were the first to disembark, 15 minutes after leaving the airport. Someone was brought in and an hour later, apparently, it depends on the route of the bus that delivers tourists. Had time for a late dinner, it starts at 23 and until 3 am. The menu has a couple of buns, cheese, sausages, pastries, vegetables, no hot drinks, only a juice machine from drinks, but you can get by.
Number. First, they settled in 6102. They opened the balcony and were stunned - before their eyes there was a wall and a technical road. Later it turned out - the most hot ass, only No. 6101 is even hotter. Fortunately, when booking, they did not indicate the first floor, therefore, there was a reason to call the reception and demand a number according to the application. We waited half an hour for a frame with a key. Finally he came and took me to 6326. The same distant building, the third floor, but at least a view appeared - of the territory, the island of Tiran and even a piece of the sea.

The room itself is large, huge beds, sleep at least along, at least across. A set of tea, coffee, cream, shampoos, balms was replenished with each cleaning. The air conditioner is noisy. The water is often barely warm. The refrigerator is excellent, not a mini-bar where room temperature is barely maintained, but a normal new unit that freezes ice and keeps everything you need. Fortunately, the key was disconnected from the key fob, which turned on the electricity, and this made it possible to leave the refrigerator on. There are channels 1+1.2+2, Tet and some other Ukrainian on TV, but it’s impossible to watch them – every minute it clicks, the message “no signal” appears, the image and sound disappear. Russian and 1 Azerbaijani channels do not have such problems. Apparently, the matter is in our digital television.
Corps. They wrote a lot here that Ukrainians are being settled in remote 5.6 buildings. They are really far away. Go to the sea about 1 km (not approximately, but according to the markings on the technical road, on which there were marks every 50 m, the latter ended after 900+ m). Ideally, a shuttle bass would have to go, so I had to wind kilometers on foot. The 5th building is 20 meters closer to the sea. Our 6th building suited us because it was far from the noise - the amphitheater, restaurant, animation, screams from the pool and bars, so they did not change. Conclusion: before changing the number, look at what was offered. On the key, the first number is the building, the second is the floor. 3.4 building is also not a panacea, in them many rooms face the wall, and most do not have a sea view. Especially the ones on the first floor.
Territory. There were a lot of people admiring how green it is, how many gardeners work here, who are constantly cutting something. So - it is stupidly GREEN. Those jerks with scissors cut everything. Juicy greenery will only appear on the bushes, they will cut it, sticks with pieces of leaves remain. Lantana, hibiscus, bougainvillea, catharanthus will only form buds to bloom, they immediately leave sticks. Branches of luxurious blooming bougainvilleas hang from the neighboring hotel, there is nothing to see in the Grand Plaza. Even cannes, which do not grow upwards and are valued primarily for flowers, these unfortunate gardeners are black in color. Plus long distances and moronic layout. The assessment of the territory is one with three minuses.
Nutrition. There are pluses, there are minuses. Our main criterion for choosing a hotel was the fish on the menu, especially the sea bass. Hotels where mackerel tails were seen in the pictures were unambiguously rejected. Grand Plaza did not disappoint. The fish is cooked perfectly, mackerel was not served. There were themed meals every day. Crabs and sushi on Mondays, burritos on Wednesdays, turkey on Sat (I don't remember exactly, but approximately). Soups were often peppered. Good soft beef in sauce. The chicken is not very dry. Like rice, it was saved only if you pour sauce over it. Surprisingly tasty potatoes, although in Egypt I have never seen them cooked properly. There were few olives. Alcohol is disgusting. In some hotels you can still drink it, but not here, even in cocktails. And the food seems to be normal, but since 2000, when I started traveling, this was the first hotel where indigestion began from the very first days and did not stop until I returned home. I hate yogurt.

Contingent. They also wrote a lot about the division by the colors of the bracelets, but I didn’t see any particular preferences for the Italians. They lived closer to the sea, in the first buildings, it's true, but they could pay extra for it separately. In bars, if an Italian came up out of turn, the bartender himself sent him to the end of the line. In restaurants, drinks on trays were brought by waiters to them and to us. The staff is friendly, everyone greets you with a smile. Yes, sometimes they can look gloomy, especially in bars, but you understand them too. Day after day, at 10 am, the same bartender takes over the shift until 23, with a short break for lunch, endlessly on his feet and pours, pours, pours. And so from day to day. In the evening they are already gone, and by the evening tourists are just starting to roam.
As for vacationers, we noticed that people from the former Soviet republics began to relax in Egypt. A year or two ago, there were mainly Ukraine and Belarus, now Armenia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan have been added. A man from Tashkent said that their government has created more loyal conditions for travel, prices have decreased, and tours that used to cost 1.5-2 thousand dollars per person for a week have become more affordable.
Reef. As for me, not bad. Who wrote that there are few fish, I do not agree. When there are waves, there are fewer of them, but there was a calm for a couple of days, and the living creatures were in full swing. I always choose a hotel with a reef, I evaluate it by the presence of rarities, and not by the ubiquitous "sergeants", "butterflies", "surgeons" and "parrots". Here, with every dive, it was possible to see someone unusual - barracuda, Napoleon, lionfish, cuttlefish, tuna and others. It's a pity there are no moray eels, only small ones.
Outcome. I wrote a lot about the cons, but overall the hotel is not bad. Apart from the area, of course. I was struck by Marina's attitude (guest relation). I had a fever for one day, the insurance was not activated, I managed with my own barbiturates, but she called back for another two days and asked how I felt. Recommend? Yes. Will I be back? No. I don't go to the same place twice.
