Yesterday we returned with my wife and child from Sharm Grand Plaza. I must say right away that a trip to Egypt has been an annual family tradition for many years, so there is a well-formed idea of ​ ​ u200bu200brest in this country, i. e. phrases "I was waiting for a palm paradise... " or "for which I gave such money... " will not. This hotel, like any other, has its pros and cons, I will try to be as objective as possible:
The hotel is informally divided into two camps - buildings 1 and 2 (near the sea) + 2 pools near them - these are Italians, no, the "Russian-speaking diaspora" is certainly also present there, but in a clear minority. They have their own animation there (in Italian), their own disco, etc. It is a problem to settle in the above buildings, since the issue is not resolved by the standard 20th at the reception, get a maximum of the 3rd building. There are 6 buildings in the hotel itself, and as they joke in hotels: the 6th building was specially built to extort money from Russians for relocation to 3 and 4. In my opinion, 3 and 4 are the most conveniently located in the very center of the hotel - and close to the sea and to restaurants are "at hand" and the pools are located on the left and right, the 5th is still so-so, but the 6th is clearly on the "edge of geography" at the entrance to the hotel.
The territory is really very green and well-groomed, with trimmed trees and shrubs, neat lawns, gardeners are constantly working; there is no garbage anywhere on the territory, all the pools (and there are 5 of them on the territory) are clean, there are enough sunbeds.

Food is normal, however, it’s hard to find special culinary delights there, but you won’t be hungry either. Meat, fish were always and everything is quite edible. The first dishes were also pleased with the assortment and taste. There is a healthy food section (everything boiled or steamed). Near the chef who prepares spaghetti, there is a man with a dish from the chef, where you can try something really original and tasty: duck in orange sauce, lamb legs in garlic sauce, baked freshly caught fish, etc. They put everything in portions there, but you can always ask for supplements. By the way, pay attention to the table where the salinity and pickled vegetables lie - there “meets” carpaccio - the very thing for beer is what you need !! ! Surprisingly, the sweet table let us down - there were very few sweet pastries and fruits.
The sea - I’ll say right away that this is the weak side of the hotel... The beach is just awful, a reef starts right off the coast and stretches 50 meters into the sea, it’s not interesting to walk on it, there’s no full-fledged opportunity to swim (by the way, it’s not clear why they won’t make an artificial lagoon, it would close sea ​ ​ issue). The only thing that there is a so-called "paddling pool" is a small area free from corals, children and adults splash in it. The depth there is like in the Sea of ​ ​ Azov, so those who have small children can safely let them play in the surf. For all the time we managed to dive from the pontoon only a few times, since the sea was constantly stormy and the red flag was waving. The reef itself is not bad, the depth is about 30 meters at once, and if you swim about ten meters, then the bottom is not visible at all. Underwater flora and fauna are standard beautiful for these places. In any case, worth a look!
I have nothing bad to say about the animation. They didn’t particularly get it: there is a desire - participate, no - no one will pull you by the legs. During the day, a standard set of entertainment: bocha, darts, archery, water aerobics, etc. Some evening shows that animation arranges can be visited (especially with guest artists), but there was no desire to look at drunken voiceless howls under karaoke... Children's animation, as well as a playground located in the center of the hotel, for some reason did not interest my child, but Perhaps this is his purely personal opinion : -)
Now about the cons - the hotel really steals beach towels, and this is so widespread that almost all vacationers face this problem. This is said in all the reviews and throughout the hotel. For example, towels were stolen from us twice, however, in the second case, the thief was caught by me, he turned out to be a boy, in my opinion, a Serb (by the way, there are also enough Serbs there), who immediately began to “dress up as a fool” and as a result everything “moved out” on a misunderstanding, he returned the towel to us, we did not raise a scandal, so as not to spoil our vacation. For a lost towel or card at the reception, you must pay $ 15.

All in all, we enjoyed our stay at this hotel!
