Long chose the hotel. Selection criteria: good beach, good infrastructure around the hotel, guest reviews at least 7.0, free tennis court. In the end, he chose two hotels: Siva Sharm and Sierra Sharm El Sheikh Hotel. The price for two is 1000 bucks. However, in Siwa for this money you can rest for 12 days, and in Sierra only 9 days. Therefore, three extra days of rest determined the choice in favor of Siwa.
I bought a ticket from the tour operator Join Up. There are no complaints about them. Almost all the information that was received from the tour operator was subsequently confirmed.
Arrived from Kyiv at 7 am. They did not buy a visa, although nosy Arabs dart around the airport and “catch newcomers in their nets”, who are offered to help them get the right visa for just 5 bucks. As a result, many ignorant "get" on 30 bucks. But it is enough to write "Only Sinay" on the questionnaire and you do not need to buy any visa.

The hotel is near the airport. I thought the planes with their roar would interfere with the rest, but in reality it turned out that they were practically inaudible.
We arrived quickly. The journey took no more than 20 minutes. The hotel reception was staffed by guys with a fairly tolerable knowledge of the Russian language. It was clear that the hotel was half empty (as it turned out later, the hotel was only a third occupied), but they were in no hurry to settle us. Although they immediately put on "bracelets" and were allowed to go to breakfast. After breakfast, those who "gave it to the paw" were settled, and those who did not, were settled somewhere at half past 12 in the afternoon. And although the hotel was full of empty rooms overlooking the sea, but we were given a room overlooking the courtyard with the pool. But since we were not going to sit in the room, and our convictions did not allow us to give "baksheesh", we did not run around and ask to change our number. And they turned out to be absolutely right, since they only slept in the room, and you could look at the sea in a thousand different cozy places on the territory of the hotel. The room was quite spacious, although somewhat "tired". But, thanks to the reviews of tourists, we were already ready for this, so we didn’t bother much with minor flaws. There was a small refrigerator in the room, in which two half-liters of water were put daily, a large bed (2x2 meters) with a normal mattress, a TV (it showed two Russian channels - the first and TNT, and one Ukrainian channel - 2 + 2), a table, two chairs and Dryer. In a word - though not luxurious, but quite comfortable room.
Warm water in the bathroom was mostly all day and evening, at night and in the morning the water was quite cool.
Beach. The hotel is located on the first line, so the beach is its own and within walking distance. The entrance to the sea is only from the pontoons. There is a small piece of beach in shallow water for those who can't swim, but it's too small. Two pontoons. Coral nearby. There are plenty of fish. The beach is the main advantage of the Siva hotel.

Weather. The weather in January in Egypt is considered the coldest. But that didn't stop us from sunbathing like summer. From 10 am to 4 pm it was always warm, sometimes hot. The strong wind was only one day and on this day the beach was closed, but not because of the cold, but because of the waves. The sea was always warm (24 degrees), although sometimes it was cold to get out of the water. But a towel and whiskey from the bar quickly solved this problem. But in the evening it was mostly cool, but given that we all arrived in warm clothes, there were no problems here either. Therefore, I can safely say that it is possible to go to Sharm in January!
Restaurant. Fed as for Egypt is quite tolerable. Breakfast is less varied than lunch and dinner. Meat, fish, chicken were every day. Cucumbers, tomatoes, greens were also in abundance. From fruits, mostly oranges, melons, dates, less often pomegranates and some kind of pears-apples of a not entirely clear taste. Tea, coffee, pepsi, fanta, beer - at least fill up. Stronger drinks - in a bar near the restaurant and two on the beach.
There are two restaurants that can be accessed by appointment only. These are Italian and Chinese restaurants. Registration strictly from 9.00 to 9.30. Record today, and visit the restaurant the next day. We conscientiously stood in line and signed up for an Italian restaurant. visited. Bullshit. Went to a Chinese restaurant. visited. Worse. Therefore, if you do not get into these restaurants, then do not get too upset, you will not lose much.
Animation. Pretty weak. Discos are rare and not of very high quality. Karaoke is quiet horror. Contests "Mr. Siva" and "Miss Siva" - so-so.
Sport. Volleyball at 11 o'clock every day. The site, although smaller than the standard one, and the grid is rather low, but the people constantly gathered, which is not bad. Two tennis courts. Both are free. Concrete. Painted. The bounce of the ball is quite fast. We came with our rackets and balls. We played when we wanted and as much as we wanted. Nobody played tennis except us. As we understood, you can rent rackets and balls for 10 bucks, but we don’t know what quality they are, we haven’t seen them. There are two billiard tables near the main pool bar. Of course, there is no table for playing the "Russian pyramid" or a snooker table. There is no table tennis table. There is a small football field. Every day at 15 o'clock the servants and several tourists played. By the way, the locals play football pretty well, we watched them from the tennis courts. There is also darts, but at a rather primitive level, mainly for kids. That's all sports.

Tours. We wanted to go to Jerusalem. At the hotel, a ticket costs 120 bucks, at a travel agency in Soho - 75 bucks. Booked 5 tours at a travel agency in Soho, paid a $30 deposit. Trips on Monday and Thursday. But our trip on Monday did not take place - we did not get the minimum 35 people for the trip. And this is from all hotels in Sharm! What does it mean no Russians! We got our deposit back and apologized.
At a hotel on the beach, we were seduced by a local native to ride a boat and scuba dive. Just to ride and dive with a mask and fins costs 25 bucks (lunch is also included in the price), and if you also go scuba diving (1 dive), then the price is 35 bucks. We decided to go scuba diving. Diving near the island of Tiran. By the time we got there, we got into a good roll. Many began to feel sick. Who decides on such an excursion should remember that the pitching in this place is almost constant. Scuba diving is a rather specific activity and not as simple as it seems. Everyone who decides to dive should be aware that the nitrogen mixture from cylinders can cause heart palpitations, as a result of which many have a panic state and a desire to get rid of scuba gear as soon as possible. This state disappears when you go deep, but if you dive for the first time, you don’t always know about it, and the instructors don’t tell you about it. So be prepared to fight with yourself. All of the above is tested on their own "skin".
There is also a free tour of Sharm. But the whole point of this tour was to take you to the oil and perfume shop and the papyrus and souvenir shop in the Old City. We saw almost nothing else.
We did not go on other excursions, so I can not recommend anything else.
Near the hotel (10-15 minutes walk) is the Soho area. There are many shops, cafes, sculptures, and in the evening illuminations and musical fountains. There is a duty free shop, but we must remember that you can buy goods there only in the first 48 hours after arrival with the presentation of your passport. After 48 hours, you need to add $5 to the price. In other stores bought T-shirts and towels. For T-shirts they asked for 8 bucks, they paid for 4, for towels they asked for 12 bucks, they gave for 8. Therefore, bargain, as prices are inflated everywhere without exception.

In custody. The main advantages of the hotel: beach, green area, convenient location, and of course the price. Cons - lousy internet, poor animation, and the fact that without "baksheesh" they are unlikely to be accommodated in a good room (although maybe someone managed to get a good room without bucks, I won't categorically say). Thus, I give this hotel a solid seven out of ten possible points. This hotel did not deceive my expectations, well, it's up to you to go or not to go to Siwa. I would recommend this hotel to my friends.
