We were in Tamra for the 3rd time (2015-16 and 2020). Compared to 2015 - heaven and earth, unfortunately.
Two words about the good that remains: decent infrastructure, large green area, nice pontoon with lots of fish. Huge numbers. If you just want to lie by the pool, there are no big requests for service and you have not been here before, you can safely go.
What has gone wrong since 2015-16?
Firstly, they closed the two best pools near the beach (upper and near the volleyball court). A small children's pool and a central pool near the bar are open. We did not visit another pool closer to the reception at the top this time.

Secondly, the staff has become much smaller. This affects first of all in the restaurant: food is given out at 5 points, but there are often three waiters, especially in the morning, and you have to wait a very long time for someone to come up to put food or pour a drink. Big queues are building up. The territory is also clearly looked after worse, but this is subjective. Bars remained only central and on the beach. The rest of the guys are trying as much and in general I would rate the staff as good. But there are so few of them!
Thirdly, with the observance of quarantine measures, everything is very so-so. I don't care, but a lot of people care. At the time of check-in, for some reason, luggage is sprayed with an antiseptic, and this is where the fight against the epidemic almost ends. Masks in the restaurant are only for 2-3 waiters in the hall, the cook or without masks (it's hot for them - I can understand) or lowered to the nose / chin. The distance in the food distribution hall is not observed, because it is impossible in a small hall from the word at all. The temperature is measured with a remote thermometer only for dinner and lunch, and even then not always. There are antiseptics, marks are drawn on the floor, but this is a formality. On the beach, every second umbrella is marked with a cross, such as not to use, but no one cares. At the bars (central and beach), the guys are without masks.
Fourth, progress in the distribution of food. For starters, no one told us that the schedule had changed this year. The papers are in the rooms, but there is no current schedule. The truth is: 7-10 breakfast, 12:30-14:30 lunch and 19:30-21:30 dinner. Dinner moved from 19:00 and even if you have lunch at 2, you can go crazy with hunger in between. Yes, there are snacks, but their problems are below. The schedule is observed with a delay - the hall is constantly opened 2-3 minutes later.
Fifth, snacks and snacktimes. Snacktimes are not observed normally - they are constantly asked to wait another 5-10 minutes, and when hungry it infuriates me incredibly. There should be pizzas on the beach at 11:00, but there were a lot of people and pizza was usually not enough for those who did not stand in line. Afternoon snacks (at 16:30 - it used to be 16:00) are usually good - burgers with cheese or a cutlet, a little salad.

Sixth, drinks. They are now only poured, no pouring taps as before. And, what infuriated me terribly - the bartenders / waiters are too lazy to put them in the refrigerator. Drinking cool or lukewarm cola at +38, beer is a pleasure for everyone.
Seventh, a bit of anti-Slav/anti-Arab chauvinism. Previously, it was a purely Italian hotel with 2-3 couples of Ukrainians or Belarusians. Appropriate was the service and behavior of the tourists themselves. There were no drunken brawls - that's good. But on the pontoon there was a couple of times a desire to kick the Arab families sitting on the steps in the ass. Further - ours (Ukrainians / Belarusians) usually don’t sail away from the pontoon (but in vain) and at times it’s just stupidly difficult to swim up to the stairs because of the hands and asses around - the Italians, in principle, didn’t really complain about the pontoon and it was always empty and good!
Eighth, the food itself. Well, here I will not attack too much, my tastes are very specific. But the range has become much narrower. No pancakes, not enough fruit, not even bananas every day. Watermelons were once. The chicken isn't bad, but that's pretty much it. Every day was falafel, greasy. Some incomprehensible beef sausages, as if plastic. A lot of different bread, good cheeses (there is a choice) and pasta, sweets.
In short, we are unlikely to return here. Bought for a cheap tour ($870 for 10 days for 2+1), but the impressions were very ambivalent.
