Returned from this hotel two days ago. I will try to be as objective as possible so that the person who chooses this hotel understands where he is going and what he can put up with and what not.
First about the cons.
We arrived at the hotel at 7 in the morning, paid $ 20 for an early check-in, as they refused to wear bracelets, and without them they would not be allowed to eat in the restaurant. The room waited until almost 9 am.
The room is old, very dirty, there is dust everywhere, when you open the curtains in the room a cloud of dust rises, there is very little space in the bathroom and everything is corroded. But in general, you can live. Most of these rooms, we saw 4 rooms. They said that there are rooms and worse than we got. Other rooms, after reconstruction near the beach, mostly from the Germans, can give ours, if you pay well.

The beach is small and uncomfortable, you need to take sunbeds on the first line around seven in the morning, after ten in the morning there are no free sunbeds on the beach. The coral is very weak, dark, almost all dead, few fish. Better coral to the right through one hotel.
The service is bad, they serve for a very long time, you can call the waiter, but he just ignores. The fact that the Germans are a priority is unequivocal, beach fights take the best places on the beach early in the morning with new towels, they only bring them drinks, smile and joke with them. At first you don't pay attention, and then this discrimination starts to get to you, because it is everywhere: in a restaurant, on the beach, in a bar, in rooms. You feel like a second class person.
Cleaning in the rooms is not just bad, but it is not. For $ 1, he will fold the towels and make the bed, even sweep it every other time, he didn’t wash the floor even once in 8 days, they walked around the room with shoes on. Shampoo and gel topped up once when my husband called him and pointed to the empty bottles.
Another big minus for coffee lovers is that there is no free natural coffee in the hotel, there is instant coffee and it ends quickly, and you have to pour some kind of drink from a container with the inscription coffee. This is my first time in a 5 star hotel.
On the plus side, pretty good food for all of the above.
Breakfast in two restaurants: main and second restaurant near the beach, on the left. The variety is small, but there is something to eat.

Lunch at the main restaurant and on the beach, we ate on the beach and also in the second beach restaurant, on the left up the stairs. On the beach, delicious chicken shawarma with vegetables and salads, pizza is also good. In the second restaurant, grilled chicken, hamburgers, salads, you can order soup. There is also a restaurant up the stairs: a grill, there are only hamburgers, a little dry for our taste, pancakes, too, did not like it, and ice cream. Dinner only in the main restaurant and a la carte restaurants. There is always a queue in the main restaurant, I saw this for the first time, they start up as tables are vacated, you can stand for 15-20 minutes if you came unsuccessfully. In ala carte were twice, in Thai very much. Thais cook food, it's delicious, but you definitely need to order a drink, at least cola, it's a fee of 35 pounds, about $ 2.
Of the minuses in nutrition: few fruits and cut very finely. I have never seen whole fruit. And so everything is enough, several types of meat, one or two types of fish, cakes. Side dish two: rice and pasta. Sweet traditional, like everywhere else.
Animation is very weak, were a couple of times - did not like it.
Another plus: the hotel area is green and quite well maintained, clean. But the pools are not heated, I did not see swimmers.
The lobby with the bar is one and rather small, the bartenders do not have time to provide quality service, they beat anything when there are a lot of people. And at the beginning of the evening for $ 1 they can make a delicious cocktail.
We have never rested in the winter in Egypt, and I could not find information about the weather and temperature. I will share my impressions, the sun rises around 7 am, but it is comfortable to swim and sunbathe from 8.30-9 am, if the sun is behind the clouds it is cold. The sun leaves the beach at this hotel early, at 2 pm. At 17:00 it is already dark. The air temperature is 28 C, and the water is 23 C.
On excursions, we took a yacht to the Ras Mukhamed reserve with diving and a white island, from Alena, a friend gave me a phone, unfortunately the weather did not allow us to swim to the reserve, there was a storm, we sailed a couple of kilometers from the port and sank there. We wrote about this to the organizer of the tour, asked to return half the cost of the tour, she apologized and said that we would be refunded the entire cost. Upon returning to the port, they returned, only to us from all the vacationers on the yacht, the rest were returned only $ 5-10 for the second dive. Ladies phone can be useful to someone +21118840024 (communicated via Viber). We took an excursion to Dahab, snorkeling in the Blue Hole, Colored Canyon, camel and quad biking. And it's $25 for one. All liked it.

When we flew away, our flight was delayed for 15 hours due to weather conditions, and Join up moved us to another hotel, of the same price category, but for some reason lower in rating than the Grand Hotel. But the difference was far from in favor of the Grand Hotel. Everything is clean, the staff is very helpful and friendly, the territory is huge, the beach is gorgeous, the food is excellent, they gave grilled quail for dinner. The rooms are generally incomparably better. We liked the animation so much that we sat to the end. The name of the Cyrene Grand Hotel may be useful to someone.
I would not go to The Grand Hotel Sharm El Sheikh 5 even for a very low price, the only plus of staying at this hotel is the excellent company we met at the hotel, this did not spoil the rest.
Yes, for $ 2 you can drive to the old city, and there, near the mosque to the left, there is a street with fish restaurants and shops, where for $ 11 you can buy a kilogram of very large shrimp and they will cook them on the spot, as you order. True, in order to bring them to the hotel, you need to hide them, away, as the guard with food and drinks does not let you in, another stupid quirk of this hotel.
