The three of us traveled from 15.07. 2010 to 26.07. 2010 from the "Neva" met "Alfa. . ". There were 3 generations in our format: the son is 5 years old, I am 32 years old and my grandmother is 55 years old. We chose this hotel because it is necessary to meet the interests of everyone on a budget. In general, the impression is positive, but the days before departure were counted down. Measured rest like a Soviet boarding house. We bought it as HB, but decided that there were no alternatives and bought AI in addition. We are not particularly picky, we have been from Europe to India, there is some idea about the level of hotels. Cheap of course does not mean bad, but there are always disadvantages that you should know about in advance.
Let's start with the benefits.
1. Undeniable proximity to the sea, because from our building to the water was no more than 10 meters. Wonderful scenery overlooking the island and 4 countries.

2. Own magnificent coral reef about 20-30 m from the shore.
The opportunity to swim along and across this reef during daylight hours for an unlimited time, watch corals, get acquainted with fish and other marine life.
3. Silence. Quiet and silent in places. Because there is always complete calm, and a slight rustle of water. Rare tourists dissolving in water, rooms, restaurant and pool. Because the hotel with 114 rooms was approx. 30 guests.
4. Friendly and unobtrusive staff.
5. And, probably, the best starting point for the tour (Cairo, Jerusalem, Petra, Mount Moses). 6. Not far from the airport.

What are the shortcomings?
1. Isolation, monotony. Top view - mountains, highway, mountains, hotel, sea. One of the hotel buildings practically rests on the foot. Near the hotel there is no settlement, shops, pharmacies, etc. , so for water and other joys you have to go 10 minutes. to the checkpoint with Israel to the Hilton hotel (taxi $ 6 round trip, no minibuses).
The hotel has a souvenir shop, a massage room and a local perfume, something like a diving center.
2. Meals are modest, very budget solutions. And, it seems, not always fresh (because the vast majority of tourists, according to their reviews, suffered from disorders of the gastrointestinal tract to varying degrees; the weak link is children and the elderly). In the end, in recent days, they ate mostly cereal and rice with tea. Of course, instant drinks are poisonous yellow and red, it is not recommended to drink.
3. Obsolete equipment, furniture, plumbing, some deck chairs look like a clothes dryer. On the last day I tried to take a shower before leaving, but there was no pressure, water sometimes poured in a trickle as thick as a pencil.
4. The territory is maintained in order, but no more, there is almost no greenery, lawns. In a permanent state of construction, repair of buildings, abandoned premises.
On one side of the beach there is a pier and then a border zone, on the other - an abandoned beach, and then an unguarded exit somewhere into the wasteland.

5. Organization of excursions 50/50, those that were ordered and paid immediately - were flawless, and if they matured after a few days, they flew by. Thus, Cairo, Mount Moses, did not work out - because, according to the guide, the bus did not get enough.
6. The hotel is not for children of preschool and school age, because there are no other entertainments besides the sea. The children's pool (paddling pool) does not work, and in an adult the depth does not allow small children to stand freely, but you can jump from the side. With us in the pool, the water has never been completely changed, they are cleaned with bleach. Playground on loam 3x3 meters with two broken rocking chairs. Children's club - almost always closed, but if they open, then there is nothing to do there - stuffy, air conditioning does not work at all; not removed, dust, buttons on the rug; there are few toys and other equipment and much is broken.
But I was struck there by an impressive jar with a collection of used straws for a cocktail.
7. Every evening they watered the stunted greens with waste water, with the appropriate aroma. And also pest control is noisy and fetid (but this is tolerable, because it is inevitable).
The beach is mixed, something like a fine and medium fraction of gravel with sand (there is no rounded pebble). In the water it is better to walk in slippers, not even because of the hedgehogs, because the sand with an admixture of corals scratches the feet. The service is unobtrusive, but they clean every day. Bed linen is carefully filled, but not changed! Towels are clean every day, and beach towels too. I didn’t meet cockroaches, there were stray beetles, but after a slap of shoes, the body of the beetle was taken apart by businesslike ants. There is no animation, and okay, but they put music by the pool, most often Russian pop music. Sometimes they tried to organize discos, on the 0 floor, loud, smoky, and everyone is sitting. There is table tennis and billiards - free for children.

Everything about drinks is true: water in the bar is $2, while the real price is £.2. The guide promised, but never brought, and he did not appear until the day of our departure. It makes no sense to exchange money here for local ones, because everything will be sold for $. Summary: the place for the hotel is good, there are prospects, but the hotel does not paint this place. It makes sense to return here (to Taboo), but to a different hotel.
