In May, I finally had the good fortune to go on vacation with friends. Our group of students chose an inexpensive hotel in the village of Gouves - Klio Apart Hotel. Decent apartments close to the beach. We were 5 people. All were placed in one room - a superior apartment with a kitchen. Room for 5+. spacious and clean. Towels were changed almost every day. The beach was 250 meters from the hotel. But this did not cause us any inconvenience. Air conditioning in the hotel was for an extra charge (I think 5-6 euros per day). We did not pay for air conditioning as it was still chilly in May. We were told at the reception that it would be hot starting in June. We went to Heraklion a couple of times. The bus stop is right next to the hotel. We liked everything - would return to Crete again. I nevertheless made a conclusion for myself - in Greece you can safely book 3 * hotels. The most important thing is that the Greeks respect cleanliness, so no living creatures, dirt, mold, unpleasant smells are ever found in inexpensive hotels. And in our restaurant, too, everything was clean and tidy. If I am going to Greece again, I will not overpay money for expensive hotels.
