It took us a long time to choose where to spend our summer holidays with our family and we made the right choice by booking Aldemar Knossos Royal in Crete. Spent 2 weeks there in early June. I rested with my husband and two children (6 and 13 years old) and friends with a daughter of 8 years old. I prefer trips to Europe (Rome, Paris, Barcelona…) and I was afraid that 2 weeks in the same hotel would be boring, but for the sake of the children, of course, we always go to the sea to improve our health in the summer. The fears were in vain!
Briefly about the pros: the territory of the hotel complex is huge, the beach is wide sand and pebble, not far from the airport and most importantly, within walking distance of Hersonissos. There are all conditions for children (in this regard, of course, the luxury city hotels that I love so much lose to Aldemara). I like that the mini-club has programs for children of different ages and separately for teenagers. An important point for our children is the presence of a water slide, they spent half the time there!
I liked the food, varied, several bars, restaurants, taverns on site. We stayed on All Inclusive. I liked the cuisine in the Artemis tavern, its visit is included 1 time by prior reservation. In a nearby hotel there is a spa center Royal Mare Thalasso, went for a massage, not bad.
Of the minuses - the design of the rooms, but perhaps this is my subjective opinion. The hotel is designed in the style of a Greek village and the rooms are appropriate - bright, warm colors, simple, and I love the classics. Yes, and a more modern renovation would not be superfluous. But everything worked in the rooms and there were no problems with cleaning, we saw the photo in advance, so I won’t complain about this.
I liked the area of the hotel. It has been working for a long time, so the territory is quite green and well-groomed. In general, we had a great rest, it is quite possible that when we fly to Crete again, we will choose the same hotel.
