In general, the hotel pulls quite well for its 4 *... The only negative is far from the sea, but with such delicious food, we considered it as a big +
The only thing that spoiled the rest was the disgusting behavior of the tour operator TUI (VKO-travel)
We will try not to use the services of this operator anymore and will not advise our friends...

It all started with the fact that they forgot to bring the documents to us at the airport! During long negotiations with the support service (from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm), the documents were found with some other courier, but the plane had already left... We were transferred to a plane that left the next day at about 7 am... Thus, the whole day was lost... Thanks to the efforts of our travel agency and relatives in Moscow, we were "compensated" for the lost day with 1 excursion (for 2x) (which initially they were not even going to do - the guide at the hotel Larisa said that they already transplanted us on another plane) Probably the financially lost amount of them was compensated, but morally...... The sediment remained.
Hotel on the mountain, down 5-10 minutes, up 10-15
Many took quads or mopeds (20-40 euros / day)... We didn’t take it, because the food was too tasty))))
In the sea, stones (plates) on the plates are hedgehogs, you can dive, it is better to take slippers for swimming
A huge number of different pools with slides for children both on the hotel beach and on the neighboring beach (star beach)
The neighboring beach is sandy, excellent entrance but shallow... Discotheques are held (both paid and free)
In general, entrance to clubs is free everywhere, and if you are not afraid of drunken German teenagers)))
Cafes along the sea are more expensive than on parallel streets... On the main street there is a very tasty cafe - Sweet home - excellent desserts.
If you go from the gate not down but to the left, then after 10-15 minutes you will come to a village on a mountain... It is less touristy, there are more interesting shops with souvenirs and their cosmetics than below... As well as excellent cafes overlooking the sea and the mountains.
Of the excursions, we were on Spinalonga (it was just a compensating excursion)... An excellent excursion, a very tasty barbecue))) their swimming in the sea... The settlement on the island was not particularly interested, houses, ruins..... But in In general, the island is beautiful... I liked the uninhabited island on which I had lunch more - the beach, the greenery.
At the tour operator, excursions are more expensive than 1.5 times - there are many agencies along the main street.
It's worth going to the local museum of Crete - they are interesting and informative... It is located behind the beach of Star Beach (if you go through the entire beach you will reach the campsite, and next to it is the entrance from the sea) the entrance is 5 euros... There is also a train (stops at the hotel parking lot, and transports throughout the resort.

We ourselves went to Heraklion (3 euros one way from stop number 24 (belvedere)) and Knossos (Minotaur's labyrinth)...
Heraklion is a very nice city, there were sales just there)) The famous Saturday market - a flea market with secondhand - is not worth wasting time... In stores on the main streets during sales (until the end of August) their prices are lower and the quality is better)
Knossos - from the port 1.5 euros one way bus, and the entrance - 6 euros... Impressive, but it's better to visit either in the morning or in the evening - very hot! With small children it is better not to - open space, ruins and heat.
Crete is a great place to relax for both adults and their children (I really wanted to ride all these hills)))
The main thing is to choose a good tour operator who will not forget to bring your documents to the airport, they will not be rude on the phone when you try to find your passports (like a VKO-Travel tour operator - a division of TUI)
