I would like to share with all of you my impressions of my stay at the Aqua Sun Village hotel in Crete. Rested with the whole family (children 4 and 6 years old).
I want to start by saying that this hotel positions itself as a hotel for families. It really is! A lot of entertainment for children: swimming pools, a water park, playgrounds, playrooms, a gym, animation - wonderful guys-animators of the Grekoleto company who did not let anyone get bored - competitions, games, music, dances!
As for the food, everything is fine too! The buffet system, all inclusive, the only thing I would like the breakfasts to be a little more varied) Lunches and dinners are top notch - everything is always tasty, fresh, hot! Huge selection of hot dishes, salads, sweets. Fruit, vegetable, cheese, meat cuts, drinks for every taste and age in unlimited quantities.
We lived in the Apollo building, in room 2223. The room is spacious, clean, with a small balcony.
Towels were changed daily, cleaning was also carried out every day and very high quality. This is a big plus.
The hotel is located at a decent distance from the sea, you can walk on foot or every 2 hours there is a free shuttle from the hotel to the beach and back. Two Russian-speaking girls work at the reception - Inna and Anna, who are very friendly and were always ready to help with any issues, for which many thanks to them.
Since our hotel already has a water park, we immediately decided not to take an excursion to the water park, but instead went on excursions to Unexplored Crete and Spinalonga. They were recommended to us by our hotel guide Daria. We were completely delighted with the programs as a whole, everything is accessible, understandable, interesting and, most importantly, unobtrusive.
We express our deep gratitude to the guides - Sofia and Elina - they introduced us not only to the history, sights of Crete, but also to the whole of Greece, gave a lot of useful information.
The rest flew by unnoticed, now we are already at home, back at work, but we are sure that we will come again, since we fell in love with Greece, with the island of Crete. We would like to heartily recommend you to visit this cool place.
- bad wifi. Just terrible. It would be better if it was paid and normal than free, but actually not working. It is clear that we do not go on vacation to sit on the Internet, but simply do not even look at the sights!
- reception staff unfriendly
- very quickly take away food at lunch. And since I was alone and went out for other food, and I was sad that food was always taken from me.
- there is nothing in the room to dry things - (clothes line or clothespins)
- Many have already written that you need to climb up the mountain. In general, I like the road. Picturesque, mountains and all that. + I have nothing against walking. You can shake the fat before dinner. But I did not like that the road is narrow. There is traffic on it all the time, but there is no sidewalk. Even somehow scary that they will bring down. Still do not like the transition from the road from the hotel to the beach. There are no zebras, no traffic lights! Fight for your life as you wish! It's very uncomfortable considering how many people go there.
- The beach is generally small. I was not at the peak of the season. There weren't many people. But in the midst of probably a real paddling pool.
- There were some bugs in the bathroom. A little, but still.
- The safe is not on the code, but with a key. Which is very inconvenient for one tourist - I'm already afraid of losing my room key and renting them. What the hell do I need the keys to the safe for? ! It would be better if there was a code. In general, this is pointless and I did not buy this option.
- Air conditioning paid - 30 euros for 10 days! Fuck! And this is a 4 star hotel! + took some kind of tourist tax of 30 euros. In general, this came and 5.000 rubles (according to the new exchange rate) as it was not.
- bad drinks. very poor quality tea. coffee for some reason only at breakfast, but not at lunchtime. wine is the same. But you want to drink it (a light drink), and not brandy with 2 types of vodka.
pros:
- the water on the beach is clean, good, warm.
- good food and quite varied
- clean every day
- Lots of nice pools in the area.
- good location of the city - close to many attractions
The road down to the sea took us about fifteen minutes, far away, especially hard to go up in the heat. Sometimes we took a taxi to get there, because we were very tired.
The room we stayed in was standard, not very big. But we liked that it was on the third floor and from there there were beautiful views of the sea.
The food at the hotel is average, the choice is small, the food is of high quality, cooked deliciously. But we didn’t expect something exquisite, so we won’t complain. We often went to dinner in local taverns, which are located in the old Hersonissos. I really liked the local moussaka, seafood and insanely delicious desserts were served to us as a compliment from the chef.
All our vacation the weather was beautiful, the sea is clean and warm. The water is crystal blue. We found a secluded corner for ourselves on one of the small beaches and had a great rest there.
Returning to the hotel, I would also like to note that the hotel has water slides, many pools, and a good animation team. Every day they organized various shows and activities.
We also went on several excursions. We visited the island of Spinalonga. This small island is located in Mirabello Bay. It was a pleasure to sail before him on a boat on this bay. I also liked the city of Agios Nikolaus. The city combines beautiful architecture and nature.
We will definitely return to Crete again. We really liked the rest, and we visited only a small part of what the island is rich in. Therefore, we are already planning a trip for next summer.
We went to disco in different clubs, many Russians. Entrances are free.
Hello to the bartender Vasilis, who always cheered me up.
We will definitely come back to you again!! !
We spent our vacation at the Aqua Sun Village hotel. I liked everything, the territory of the hotel is large enough, there is where to walk. We went down to the sea every morning by bus provided by the hotel. The beach is not very big, but a good entry into the sea. So, as in our region, where we rested especially and there are no good beaches.
As for food, there was a more modest choice of dishes for breakfast, but there was enough food for everyone. More variety for lunch and dinner. Good selection of fruits and desserts.
Everything is standard in the rooms, though there was no wi-fi, only in the reception area I caught it. From our room we had a great view of the sea. This is what we liked the most. In the morning at dawn you go out onto the balcony and welcome a new day with a cup of coffee.
By the way, for children there are water slides in the hotel, many pools. This made our vacation very easy because the children always had something to do.
Also, we went on several excursions. We visited the visiting card of the island - the Palace of Knossos. The place is very impressive, but you need to go there only with a guide, as we did. In addition, in the evening we went to a traditional Cretan evening, watched a costume show, danced sirtaki, ate delicious food and drank Greek wine. This evening was very memorable for us.
We liked our holidays in Crete, we will return here more than once in order to get to know it even more and enjoy its antiquity and grandeur.
