We booked a tour to the Simple Hersonisos Blue 2 * hotel, but when we approached it, the guy took us to this hotel, which was located in the quarter (one owner is visible). We were apprehensive at first, but it turned out not to be so bad. The room we got was spacious, albeit 1-room. The bed was clean, towels included, cleaning was, it seems, 2 times a week. The fridge was free, but the air conditioner had to pay 5 euros per day. There was no TV. Wi-fi is only at the reception and in the dining room, but it worked perfectly there. The pool was not always really clean, and the sunbeds were in the open sun on the gravel.
The food was very simple, 2-3 types of dishes were served, salad, one type of meat, watermelon for dessert. But you can always pour wine, beer without problems. As for the staff, usually you will not meet anyone, except for the person who prepares the distribution of food (the food is obviously brought ready), and the guy who brought us, he appeared sometimes. It was a bit annoying, we felt a little abandoned, but we got used to it. The sea was nearby, 100 meters, there was no beach, another question is that there are almost no normal beaches in Hersonissos.
In general, quite an adequate budget hotel, if you set a goal to travel around Crete, take excursions.

Be prepared for mosquitoes, so we rented an air conditioner for 5 euros a day and closed the windows including the fumigator. Screams outside the windows of drunken youth all night and riding ATVs and roaring mopeds.
Towels and bedding were changed once a week, so everywhere, the floors were washed every day.
There is a swimming pool, very clean and pleasant water, sun loungers near the pool, always empty.
We rented a car, drove around the island, watched the beauty, especially the sunset in the mountains. The beaches are small everywhere in Hersonissos, but there are more people on sunbeds (4-5 euros all day, you can come after dinner to show the check and they will put you a sunbed), and there is enough space for everyone in the sea, it is gorgeous. This year, absolutely all Ukrainians flying sky-up had their flights rescheduled, we were already 2 times, all this time we were sitting at the airport. If you are traveling with a child, then water and juice are small. packages are allowed to be taken with you on the plane, just tell me what is for the child.
