The hotel is located at the entrance to the village of Stalis (Stalida). The room we got 610 is very small and far from the main building, where there was a restaurant. In the first minute there was a desire to go change, but in principle we were only going to sleep in it, and the furniture was in excellent condition, so we left it. There is air conditioning, TV, hair dryer in the bathroom. We had a view of the fence of the neighboring hotel, and all his active life in the evenings was audible to us. They cleaned every day, if you throw a towel on the floor, they will definitely change it, and for 1-2 euros they will also twist it into a bow. The bed was changed several times, even when my daughter put a small dot on the sheets with a felt-tip pen, she was changed. The quality of cleaning the floor is C grade, it can be seen with a wet rag, but the hair and debris remained in place. The dust on the phone, the closet has probably never been wiped off at all. Ants and some strange bugs were also running around. There are few mosquitoes, but at night they still put the fumigator brought with them. They left the phone and money in the room, jewelry on the table, they did not take the safe.

At this time they have a mating season and the cicada boys make such a noise with the sunrise that on the first night I was very scared, thinking that this alarm had worked. Breakfasts, as elsewhere - scrambled eggs or once a week scrambled eggs, fried sausages, beans, some very sweet porridge, potatoes, cheese and chopped sausage, various buns, there is a toaster - you can bake, vegetables, muesli, yogurts, in which you can add raisins, canned peaches, cherries, chocolate. They bake pancakes, donuts. Coffee, tea, juice. And every day it's the same, by the end of the holiday I could not look at the omelet. Lunch and dinner are varied. From the meat there were lamb, and rabbit, pork, chicken, and everything was soft and tasty, even the child ate. Fish, one time mussel risotto, kebab, pasta, lots of vegetables. We also wanted to rent a car, but for a day with full insurance it cost about 60 euros + expensive gasoline, and at the family council it was decided to go to the capital of Heraklion and spend this money on ourselves, in stores at that time, the benefit of discounts. In terms of nutrition - no one went hungry, breakfasts were meager, as elsewhere, but the children were interrupted by pancakes and their variety, which were every day. We even fried pancakes once. Thick, not very tasty, but will do. Lunches and dinners are quite even, a lot of vegetables, cheese, olives. There are always a couple of types of meat (including chicken, pork, delicious veal, lamb), several types of side dishes, fish (of course, defrosting, alas). Very tasty beer! There are only cafes and shops in Stalis.

Horizon is a 3 * hotel (and, accordingly, the price), probably due to the lack of a full-fledged beach, otherwise I would give it 4 *.

Another very big plus - you can walk to Stalida (200 meters to the beginning of the city and about 300 to the city sandy beach (again, with the expectation of children). There are also a lot of different shops, the prices in some are significantly lower than the prices for souvenirs around the island. Of the minuses, there were mosquitoes in the room of our parents. They fought with sprays, knocking out, and even the hotel staff poisoned them with something, but they arrived : ). This was not the case in our room. There were a couple of pieces, but it is completely inconsistent with the picture of the parents. I think that they got such a room : ), albeit with a sea view. The food is good, but during the entire stay it somehow became boring. Between meals, you could drink coffee, tea, eat cookies, sandwiches. Alcohol until 22-30. Later for mine. When we went on excursions early in the morning, we ordered an early breakfast and a lunch package. Breakfast is tea or coffee, biscuits.
