On the beach they were lying on their bedspreads - sunbeds for 5 euros… The sea was stormy - two days were almost without waves, two days were very big waves (it was unrealistic to go), and the rest were just waves. The bottom is stone, but smooth and not slippery, but the wave is not very pleasant to go ...However, the water is very clean!

However, at the reception, which is decorated in the style of minimalism, ie one small stand, I was sincerely surprised by the very clear English language in which the bartender addressed me. (The hotel does not have an insane number of staff, so there were only four bartenders, two in turn before and after lunch, and they also served breakfast, lunch and dinner).
Room: recent renovation is immediately visible, as the rooms are nice, neat, clean, in short - comfortable.
Food: there is no such variety as in Turkey, Egypt, etc.
However, we had enough fruits and vegetables. Iink also included ice cream, which I was pleasantly surprised by.
Beach: well, sunbeds, umbrellas - paid - 5 euros, although you could take your towels and go to bed wherever you want. There are just a lot of beaches, ie uninhabited areas, so there is enough space. Plus - a few days lying on deckchairs, up to 11 years. no one checked for 11 years. we went to the hotel, and in the afternoon also do not check, so you can cheat)
Staff: just EXTREMELY! Very nice, hospitable, I have never met such people in any country! Special thanks to Yannis and Anna! Yannis talked a lot about Crete, traditions, explaining how to get to Rethymno - the administrative center, at 20 minutes. from the hotel by comfortable bus. Also, thanks to the advice, we went to Chania, 75 km away.
