We rested in Lotus in January 2012. The hotel is located 25 km from the airport, so it's not a long drive. The flight was early and we were brought to the hotel around 5 o'clock in the morning. The guide, from the meeting side, warned that the check-in to the rooms, as in the whole world, takes place from 12-00, but we were given the room immediately upon arrival. We lived in 201, in the area between the reception and the restaurant. In this part of the hotel everything is green and beautiful, but there are rooms with not very good views. Everything is clean and tidy, as for India, but in general - an average C grade. The room is small, but has everything you need: drinking water, electric kettle, tea, coffee, sugar, TV, air conditioning, large bed, shower. If you don’t moan, but tune in positively, then everything is fine: there is always water, they clean it every day. Now about nutrition. Take only BB (breakfast). Although they can be abandoned. The food is not very good, although this is a common practice in GOA. Every day eggs, tea, coffee, juice, toast, fruits, vegetables, cereals, marmalade. But after you go outside the hotel and face the Indian reality, you will understand that Lotus is a paradise, and by Indian standards, you can give all 4 stars. But after all, a trip to GOA is not a life in a hotel, but a buzz received from the exotic and from the ocean. The beach is 300m from the hotel. Here you can also eat. Sheki (beach cafes) are in abundance here. After going through several of them, we realized that the prices for all are almost the same, but we liked MALIBU, immediately the first shek from the entrance from the hotel. Here - friendly staff who understand both Russian and English (with our school stock was enough for full communication), excellent food (always very tasty !!! ), the best menu in RUSSIAN LANGUAGE with an exact indication of the composition of dishes, which is important when meeting with another kitchen. Separately, I would like to say about a guy named Misha (the real Umesh). Kind, friendly, oboyatelny, always listen, quickly serve. In the evening in the shek - live music, then Indian dances, then a fire show. Sunbeds and umbrellas are provided FREE OF CHARGE here. In general, we are for MALIBU. Guys GREAT!! ! A separate word about the ocean. Just super!! ! Always warm, with gorgeous long waves. So they were pissed off like kids. A couple of times in the morning we saw dolphins near the shore. A beautiful sunset with the sun disappearing into the ocean under the throats of Pinacolada - paradise, and nothing more!!!
More about money. Never change them at the airport. The exchange rate for the dollar should be 50-51 rupees. Change only when necessary, otherwise you will not exchange back. Bargain to the last. Reduce prices by 2-3 times. Village with shops and shops 10 minutes walk. And the fruit and not only market in Colva is a 20-30 minute walk along the beach. Ask for fruits to try, do not immediately dial. There is super, and there is so-so.
In general, we are 100% satisfied with the rest, we want to return. Never regretted coming. Before that, they were in Turkey, Egypt, Thailand, Kenya, so there was something to compare with. Exotic and cheap, what more do you need!! !
