First time in India and second time in a 3* hotel. If I am going to India again, then only in 5 *.
1. location: close to beach 5 - the hotel is on the 1st line, Varca beach is clean, there are few people, the sand crunches, the waves are strong enough after 12.00, to swim you need to swim away, in the morning the sea is more or less calm. The sea is shallow, especially at low tide. The nearest necks are 200 meters to the left from the hotel, there are necks to the right, but much further.
In proximity to civilization, 3 - to the nearest shops in Varka (very modest) on foot about 40 minutes, by taxi - 5 minutes. Many different shops in Cavelossim - by taxi about 15 minutes.
On the beach near the hotel there are hotel sunbeds - free, but there are few of them - 15 pieces and our tourists go to take them at 7 in the morning. We lay either on a towel on the sand or on sunbeds near the shakes (free of charge if you order something in the shake).
2. Meals - compared to other hotels that other tourists told us about, breakfasts are very decent: cereal, scrambled eggs, watermelon, some drink (cold cocoa, milkshake, etc. ), buns, toast, pancakes, jam - so-so, butter - aka maragarin, several types of local dishes (cous-cous, spicy peas, potatoes in various forms, unleavened cakes, stewed vegetables, chicken offal). Everything is periodically replenished so that those who come later get it.
We ate quite well for breakfast, especially when there were few Russians in the hotel, as Russians were brought in en masse - jam, butter, rolls, etc. , disappeared. they fill to the eyeballs, and do not have time to replenish, and food is still a limited amount.
We dined in necks - very cheap (average bill without wine for 2 - first or second and compote - 1000 rupees - 500 rubles) and quite tasty, especially seafood dishes. The cleanliness is of course relative, but these are beach cafes, there were no disorders. We liked the food in the "Sunset Paradise" neck (to the left along the beach from the hotel exit) and in the necks to the right of the hotel about 1 km (I don’t remember the name, but the prices there is lower than in the necks that are next to the hotel). I didn't like the food in Capricorn - like in a canteen, not professional and not tasty.
3. numbers - just awful. We had a Garden villa (we ordered the most expensive room right away, because we were warned that everything is very modest in India at 3 *) - dirt, although they clean it every day, windows, frames in dirt and mold, broken-down furniture, all tattered, stained, curtains on the windows like doormats. The bed linen is washed, in stuck spots, the towels are just a nightmare - stained (it feels like they are washing the floor), washed out, there are holes in them, poorly dried - the smell of old mustiness - bue, it’s disgusting to wipe yourself, we brought our beach towels from home - wiped them off.
In the room - 5 l bottle of water, tea-cafe, sugar, kettle, cups, soap, we didn't have a refrigerator - we tried to demand, they said that it was not provided. Although in some other rooms it was.
And the most terrible thing for me is the humidity and the stink of old moisture in the room, the fan and air conditioning do not help, they constantly open the door and window (so that there is fresh air).
All clothes stink like from a barn-cellar.
In general, as a Soviet camp site, only amenities in the room.
In our room, behind a curtain, there lived 2 gigons, apparently of different sexes, because. at night, for 4 days, they "shouted songs" - they got sick of their trills. Were in Tae in 3 * - there were no gigons in the room.
there were mosquitoes in the room, but we took fumitox.
4. The territory of the hotel is normal, small, greenery / flowers, clean enough, chipmunks jump through the trees, benches along the road to the beach.
5. service - beach towels are given out by the pool, money was changed at the jeweler (the rate is good - 61 rupees for 1 buck), the reception has a small shop for souvenirs, rags, teas (there is nothing to take except for men's T-shirts, rags are like in the cheapest Vietnamese market, tea with an expiration date), and a jeweler's shop - carpets, gold, silver (there are beautiful rings - the prices are normal, the jeweler is generally a very nice person).
The territory of the hotel is rarely cleaned - bottles, gobies and candy wrappers lie on the lawns for weeks (while they periodically move from one lawn to another).
there is a small swimming pool, they clean it every day, the children flounder there, but the adults are at sea.
On Mondays they have a party next to the beach with live music - admission is 100 rupees.
There are bike rentals.
6. We took long-distance excursions from the guide, you can take a taxi from the hotel to different beaches and sightseeing tours - prices are 1.5-2 times cheaper than the guide.
7. general impression - the hotel is always full, the guests of the hotel are mostly adult couples - from 40 and pensioners, there are few children - therefore it is quite quiet and calm. I will never go to this hotel and will not recommend to anyone. I’m also unlikely to return to India - only if I see the Taj Mahal.
Attention: there are fleas in India (not lice, namely dog-cat fleas), we did not understand where we caught them on the beach or in the room, but they bit us decently. Their bites are very itchy and heal for a long time - they swell with blisters and, if you pick it open, ichor oozes. Upon returning home, everything slowly healed.

We flew on a direct flight from Rostov-on-Don, the flight took 6 hours. Due to the time difference, we ended up at the hotel around 21:00. On the way from the airport, I got an excellent guide who talked a lot about Goa, customs, safety, prices, shopping, excursions, etc. Settled very quickly, the room is normal (as the guide said, what is your karma, then it will happen to you in GOA, treat everything philosophically). In the morning, in the light of day, we went to explore the territory and the beach. The territory is magnificent, from the main building there is a wide asphalt path to the beach itself, everything is in the shade, everything is in flowering bushes. The restaurant is on the way to the beach. The beach is endless white sand, clean and crisp. The ocean is powerful, salty and very warm. On the beach there are sun loungers in the shade of palm trees, there is always a guard at the entrance to the beach. The waves were all days, when it was less, when it was more. The best time for swimming is from 6.00 in the morning (it is already light) until 10.00. Later, the breeze picks up and the waves become larger. By 12.00 - the sun bakes, the sand is hot. And by 16-17 hours it becomes very comfortable. Sunsets are a special phenomenon, unique every day.
Breakfast in the restaurant consists of cereals, milk, juice (watermelon, mango, papaya, kiwi, orange, pineapple, different every day), Indian dishes, and scrambled eggs, scrambled eggs, which are cooked in front of you by a chef, a very nice young man named Mohan . The way he skillfully throws an omelet in the pan and he definitely hits it and turns over to the other side, you can admire the whole breakfast. They don’t speak Russian at the reception and in the restaurant, but they understand and try very hard to help.
In the beach necks of the menu in Russian, they speak and understand you without any problems. Almost everything has been covered, and they all have their pros and cons. I liked the cuisine and the music and the prices at Eddie's pub (Kolya is a young man who takes orders, he's just a joker and a merry fellow, but he knows his business. He will always tell you about the dish, advise what to choose). "Sebastian's" you can try fish and oysters (not expensive). The fish is served in portions, "Eddie's" only whole. We got a special pleasure when we ordered "At Eddie's" shark, just delicious, but it's the whole and with a blunt rounded nose, the most delicious crab soup (a whole boiled crab is placed on top of the plate). "From Sebastian" they took another smaller one and a sharper nose, it turned out to be very dry. Juices are freshly squeezed everywhere, food is fresh.
Money changed at the jeweler, shop in the main building. Of course, she could not pass by the magnificent jewelry with diamonds, emeralds, sapphires. Everything I chose is exclusive, I have not seen this anywhere else. That there is only a white gold ring, in which two rings are connected into one in the place where the stone is attached, the ring can be turned and now you are with another ring (diamonds on one side, and a stunning emerald on the other). Fayaz, the owner of the store, a person with amazing taste, feels what the client needs, speaks Russian, can remake the product according to your request, guarantees the quality. You can pay by card and cash. You can buy a local connection sim from him in the store. At our request, he brought us fruits from the village (he chose the best and at a very good price).
We used taxi services, we really liked Peter. He drives carefully, which he himself could not explain, called a friend, he told us everything in Russian. We went to a spice plantation, in Cavelosim, in Margao. We agreed on the price with Peter, and he told us which stores to go to, waited as long as necessary and did not ask for any additional payment. In general, Indians are very sympathetic and kind people. Think only about the good while in GOA and this will help you a lot (advice of our guide). Checked, really, what they planned, everyone bought, looked, everything was solved without any problems.
More about the hotel: who is looking for entertainment, then they are not. Very quiet, at 22.00 already complete silence. The hotel is safe, there are no strangers on the territory, the guests know everyone by sight, you don’t worry about the children, you can let one go to the pool (the security guard and the young man who gives out towels are watching the kids all the time). Of course, it would not be bad to renovate the furniture and ceilings (in some places the paint has come off), linen and towels are not snow-white, but intact. The room has a tea and coffee set, mugs, glasses, spoons. Bottled water is brought, tea, coffee, sugar are replenished every day in the evening. The cleaning is really mediocre, but the towels are changed every day. Split and fan worked properly. The room has a small refrigerator, for water and fruit is very suitable. If I have the opportunity, I would visit this place again.

The territory of the hotel is clean and well-groomed, the beach is crazy (varka beach is considered one of the cleanest beaches in GOA). The rooms in the main building are not very good, but the pool houses are good and new, in some places they just pull on 4 *. The food at the hotel is not very good - everything is with curry and pepper in the best Indian traditions. But on the beach, the food is awesome - grilled shrimp, fish, salads and flat cakes - they ate in the local neck "at Eddie's" (as you go to the beach immediately to the left) as vacationers advised earlier. Tasty and not expensive, they don’t put curry in food, they speak Russian and the menu is in Russian, which is very nice after the hotel staff who speak only English. In the same neck, by the way, they also took excursions - it turned out cheaper two or three times than with a tour operator. (at first they tried to go on official excursions - there was no guide, he only went shopping, and so they talked to everyone, then they decided to use the services of a shaker and did not regret it - the guide spoke Russian normally, stopped where we asked, "cheap souvenirs from his store brother" did not suck. )
Conclusion: the hotel pulls in full to its stars in terms of accommodation. Varka beach, on which it is located, is very clean, not just by the standards of India, but even by world standards. The only problem with the hotel is the food. However, as it was found out from conversations with other vacationers, this is a standard problem of Indian hotels. They eat everything, as a rule, in beach shakes, which are a 2-minute walk away.
I wish you a good rest!

Review for those who just want to relax in a calm, cozy place.
In order.
It's better to fly on a charter. If it was even more or less convenient to Goa, then the inquisitors invented the return flight of Arab airlines. At 04.30 departure, pick up around 12 at night, transfer 4 hours in Sharjah, at home at 14.00 (although on tickets at 13.00). In short 36 hours without sleep!
Hotel. It is better to stay at the "villas" - quieter, calmer. Cleaned every day, tea, coffee, water... If not enough - in the evening they make a detour and you can take supplements. Purely. Cleaned up all day. Even cigarette butts on the beach. True, some kind of midges or fleas live in the rooms. Everyone went bitten. But then we figured out that you can order room maintenance. They do it without question! Near the pool - the first line of houses - mostly local Indians settle. There are a lot of them, especially on weekends. I want to note the goodwill of the population (and the staff as well). They love to be photographed with white people - for good luck and shake hands! So do not refuse - offended. The guests were mostly Russian-speaking, there were Germans (nowhere without them! ), French and English, but not much.
There are few sun loungers, but for some reason there were always enough. And, lo and behold, I have never seen trestle beds "busy" since the night! Towels are free of charge near the pool and near the bar on the beach. A beach bar is more expensive than shakes, but if you are too lazy to go, then the difference is small. Beer (at the Sheykov price) can be bought at the reception bar - 80 rupees any (in the bar on the beach - 100). I advise the local Tuborg!
Sea. The tides are invisible. Swimming is almost always possible. The wave happens, but near the shore. Who is not afraid, then after 10-20 meters it is practically gone. Didn't even notice the flow! The beaches are deserted, snow-white, sometimes you walk on a desert island! It doesn't even smell like fish! And the sunsets!!!
Infrastructure. It is practically non-existent. Exchanging money at the jeweler. Several shops in case. 2 times a week evenings on the beach 600 rupees from the bow. The Indians dance, then the type of disco until 22.00. Everything! The nearest shops in Varka are 2-3 km along the highway. There are many shops in Cavelosim - 5-6 km along the coast. It's not hard to go. You can take local buses from the intersection (~ 1.5 km from the hotel) costs 10 rupees. Tours are very expensive. It's better to take a taxi. Here's how to agree and how lucky. The choice is small. The hotel is out of the way. And there is no "language", no Bali. Trade in stores - up to 2 times. Even if they say the prices are fixed. Cheap stones. But we took it from a store in Panaji. Dumb! Food in the necks on the shore. The choice is also small. One near Eddie's (shaker - Dormendra) and three a little further away. Eddie's is a little cheaper, but no show off. Cost: salads around 90, soups - 100 and second courses 150-200 rupees. Market fish. We liked the mullet, barracuda and kingfisher. Fish for two 600-800 rupees. Crabs and lobsters are more expensive (from $20).
Summary. We have traveled probably half the world and we can compare. In terms of price / quality ratio, subject to a conscious departure from the world of entertainment, probably one of the best places we have been. We will definitely return!

Initially, we ordered breakfast + dinner and a room in the main building (this must be agreed in advance, when we booked the tour it was a month and a half in advance - there were no more rooms in the bungalow). The flight was indirect - from Kyiv we flew to the Emirates (5 hours flight) from the Emirates to India (3.5 hours flight) - I don’t recommend it to anyone - it’s very hard, because additional time was spent on staying at airports (check-in, time between flights ). So, let's begin.
Hotel.
Would not recommend to young people, people from 30 to 40, maybe older - because. there is absolutely nothing to do in this hotel. The hotel is 15 km from the nearest shop with drinks, fruits, etc. , there is a road and trees outside the hotel, there is no infrastructure at all. There is no entertainment in the hotel - small tennis, a ball. If I knew this, I would choose another hotel.
The hotel itself fully justifies 3 *. First line. No frills. Safe (a kind of closet with padlocks from the 80s) near the reception - free of charge.
In all photos of the hotel there is only a bungalow. The main building is not very impressive in appearance, it is somehow ugly, “shabby”, the rooms are under the roof itself, I think it is very hot in the room. And so, having seen it all with our own eyes, we officially paid $125 extra for a settlement in a bungalow (there was already a room there). The room was cleaned every day, as was the change of towels, although we didn't leave anything. The room had a TV (channels in Arabic or English), air conditioning, a ceiling fan, an electric kettle, a carafe of drinking water, which was replenished daily. Also on the tray were always bags of coffee, tea, sugar. There will be hot water in the shower if you press the miracle button 15 minutes before taking a shower (this will turn on the boiler), it is for each room separately.
Staff.
I only saw Indians. Everyone is very friendly, helpful, everyone is smiling, there were no problems with them. It seemed to me that they were even unobtrusive.
Territory.
No frills, neat, clean. Only on one side of the road from the main building to the sea, as I understand it, the territory of the hotel ends there, the wire is stretched there and already there are just some bushes, thickets. The pool is small. There are few sunbeds near it, but there was almost no one there.
Beach.
General, wide, long (beautiful... ??? ? nuuuu not so much, the beach is like a beach) there are no sunbeds on the beach itself. They are located on the territory of the hotel, directly from them we get to the beach. Towels near the sunbeds and by the pool are free.
Red flags are posted all over the beach - swimming is prohibited!! ! The sea lives its own underwater life - the Indians, including the hotel, disclaim any responsibility. The flags speak for themselves, no one will warn you (there is a lot of information on the Internet about accidents in GOA). So you choose where to swim and where not. We swam, but it was very fast, I was afraid))
Food.
Diversity did not shine. There was almost no meat, sometimes there was chicken. Basically, all dishes are very peppery. For breakfast there were also fruits - watermelon, pineapple, papaya, melon. For dinner of desserts, one day there was ice cream, the second day there was pudding, it seemed to alternate) At dinner, all drinks are for an additional fee.
outside the hotel.
I was disappointed, I expected more fabulousness, if not from India as a whole, but only from Goa, but I didn’t get it, it’s very dirty, the houses are scary, shabby. Goa was associated with a fairy tale, a small paradise - but it is not. Maybe the beach at the Radisson or Hyatt is fabulous and well-trained, but not GOA. Unfortunately, this is not a fairy tale. I don't want to go back to Goa.

The trip to India was on a budget, there were no funds for expensive hotels, but I got an excellent result for those that I expected! Good hotel, good area, great beach, good restaurants in the area, you can walk to neighboring hotels in a massage parlor or somewhere else.
