We returned from the Avani Kalutara hotel a week ago. We have the warmest and unforgettable impressions from both the country and the hotel. We took a tour with excursions "Pearl of Sri Lanka". 3 days traveled around the country, the remaining 7 days on the coast. The excursions were difficult because of the heat and due to the fact that immediately after a long and tiring flight we were taken on excursions. We got to the hotel in Kandy only in the evening. The 2nd day was climbing Mount Sigiriya, it was hard because of the heat, but the impressions and what I saw were worth it! On the 3rd day we were taken directly to the hotel on the coast. I liked the hotel, but there was a nuance that spoiled the mood a little, but we did not focus on this. The fact is that we were settled not on the main territory, but a little to the side, where the dilapidated tsunami of 2004 buildings are located. 2 of them have been restored, and we were settled there. Rooms №№ 600 - 605. I do not advise you to take these rooms, because far from "civilization" (pool, restaurant, reception). But we were so tired after a long move that we had neither the strength nor the desire to move anywhere else. . In general, then they got used to it and did not feel any discomfort until the last day, when a tropical downpour began in the afternoon and it became simply impossible to get from our accommodation to the restaurant for dinner. But this problem was quickly solved with one call to the reception. I called our room number and immediately they sent a car for us, which took us to the main building. All the staff at the hotel are very pleasant and attentive. I strongly advise you to visit the SPA center, the pleasure is not cheap, but it's worth it. The hotel area is clean and well maintained. There are not many Russians, during our stay, mainly French and Polish speech cut the ear. The food is good, the cuisine is European. We took breakfast and dinner, although the hotel also has an All Inclusive system. It is mainly used by foreigners. But we had friends in the hotel management and sometimes treated us. Water was free and 2 bottles of water were provided in the room every day. We dined once outside the hotel at the Red Lobster restaurant. A very large portion for 2, "half a bucket" of rice, salads, fruits, boiled marine life. In general, a lot of things can still be told, but you have to go yourself and feel the hospitality and cordiality of this wonderful country.
