In Zakopane there are a lot of restaurants (taverns) where you can eat tasty and not expensive. Near the boarding house there was such a tavern, dinner with soup, second, wine and some other little things cost about $ 10 per person. There is a very cool fish restaurant on Krupowka (the main street of Zakopane), I recommend to go in, you will be satisfied and the prices there are reasonable. Approach to it through the bridge. By the way, I would like to note that the boarding house is located in a very convenient place, almost in the city center, about 5 minutes to the main street of Krupovka. even if. There is also a skating rink and the hotel "Belvedere" nearby, where you can visit the sauna, swimming pool. In general, Zakopane is a very active town with discos, shops (there are good discounts in winter), etc.
We went skiing to Shimashkova Glade, because as skiers we are beginners, a small hill on it suited us very well. On a small hill there is a chair lift, not a yoke, which is very convenient. If you have never skied like us, you need to hire an instructor for 1-2 hours. This is quite enough to learn how to ride more or less, and the next day we already went skiing quite well. Skis and boots were taken from the same brand "Solomon", very convenient if you do not have your own, though a little expensive, but still not so much as to carry them from somewhere else where it is cheaper. It was our first winter ski holiday and we were very pleased. But this year we will go to the boarding house "Karpaty", very cool, we were guests there, small, cozy and also in the center of Zakopane.
