As it turned out, trips abroad are not only planned, where you can study the logistics, choose the most suitable options for yourself in terms of price and quality of transportation and location. There are also sudden trips, when you have to solve the same issues the day before departure, and preferably, with minimal costs for your nerves and wallet, which sounds, of course, like fantasy. Motivation in such situations comes to the fore, and when you are charged with the realization of your goal, life provides the necessary conditions and opportunities. For many Ukrainians, in recent years, meeting with close relatives living abroad has become a very common phenomenon, which determines the large passenger flow in the western direction. I also had to integrate into this flow on an emergency basis.

It's no secret how popular trains in the western direction are in our country, tickets to Lviv, Uzhgorod, for direct trains to European capitals are problematic to buy even 20 days before departure, what to say when you have to leave tomorrow. The pricing policy of Ukrzaliznytsia is also difficult to understand with common sense, if you can get to Lviv from Kharkiv in a compartment for about 1000 UAH, then to Poland, at the same distance, it is already four times more. This could be put up with if the quality of the transport service was appropriate, but when it is a very tired carriage without air conditioning, with one outlet for charging gadgets, then you understand that the price of such a service is sucked out of a finger, and several times exceeds the cost price. And the hyped demand for this direction only pushes this price up. A monopolist, and in Ukraine he is a monopolist, the laws of a fair market do not work for him. It is especially unpleasant to realize this when you compare our UZ with the work of their Polish colleagues, the comfortable condition of their high-speed trains, where there is room for passengers with animals, bicycles, and wheelchairs, strict adherence to the timetable, the condition and functionality of the stations in the capital. And all this for reasonable money. When I downloaded the Koleo application to purchase train tickets in Poland, creating an account, the application told me that people of retirement age have a 25% discount, and this without any supporting documents, while the application of our UZ simply does not want to see my disability certificate.

Waiting for the train to Helm in my native Kyiv.

Our bus carriers are not far behind their railway colleagues, with the only difference being that there is a lot of competition. In the process of selecting tickets, I had to get acquainted with the prices for the main bus routes, the price list of which I was familiar with before. I had to state that prices for international routes have increased by approximately 80% this year alone. Yes, the price of gasoline and diesel has increased, but not by 80%, and the price of transportation is determined not only by the price of automobile fuel, which suggests that there is no honest market for bus transportation either, or someone is controlling this market, or it is a conspiracy of carriers. I am sure that in our country there are organizations that should control the pricing of both rail and bus transportation, but it is not difficult to guess why their actions are not visible.

Three hours on the high-speed railway, and you get to the Polish capital. The road to Warsaw was memorable for its picturesque landscapes, well-groomed fields and neat houses, the views from the window were pleasing to the eye and slightly aroused feelings of envy and thought - "when will we have something like this? " But I will not analyze the answers to such questions, let everyone draw their own conclusions.

Briefly about the financial results trip. The trip from Kharkiv to Warsaw cost me 4.800 hryvnias, the return trip 4.400 hryvnias. A night at a hotel cost 2.650 hryvnias. I didn't specifically record my food expenses, I had to use mostly fast food and products from the Biedronka supermarket. I didn't need any cash, you can use a bank card everywhere.

Summing up my impressions of my short trip to Warsaw, I would like to draw a few conclusions.

1. The logistics of moving from Ukraine to Poland have been quite well developed in recent years, allowing you to reach the neighboring country even in an emergency. Early resolution of transport issues simply makes the trip more comfortable and economical.

2. At the Polish border, you must be prepared for additional personal identification and a thorough customs inspection.

3. If you need to travel from Cheł m to Warsaw, you can safely take tickets for the first train without fear of train delays, since trains are connecting. Or take a ticket for a non-stop flight Kyiv-Warsaw.

4. Warsaw is a convenient and pleasant city in all respects, which can be used for a short time as a transport hub or for tourist purposes.

5. The tourist and non-tourist public needs to unite and think about how to build new civilizational relations with our Ukrzaliznytsia, achieving adequate, reasonable prices for transportation, and compliance of these prices with the quality of transport services. Such problems cannot be solved by individual complaints and groans.

I would like to wish all travelers pleasant, trouble-free trips, the fulfillment of plans, unforgettable impressions, health and a peaceful life as soon as possible. And it's time for me to prepare for a planned vacation.
