WHERE TO GO AGAIN?

Oh, this Ryanair, everything is tempting and tempting with ridiculous prices for flights to Europe. After a wonderful trip to Vilnius, I glanced at the offers from this low-cost carrier, and still looked interesting offer. Warsaw - I can't say that it was the city of my dreams, but there was a certain desire to walk there. Prices from Raneira were simple and concise - 15 euros from the nose for a one-way flight, yes and no! Departure dates were determined quickly: Friday (02.08) there and on Sunday (04.08) back to Kiev.

GETTING READY

There was no special preparation for the trip, because we are flying to Europe, not to the Papuans in Africa. We don't need a lot of things for two days, and I wasn't going to pay for extra luggage. The children were left in Kyiv, under the strict supervision of their grandmothers, I decided everything with my work, I was given a day off without any questions.

This time I decided not to take a taxi - the basic calculation showed that it is much more profitable to leave the car at the airport for these couple of days. Taxis back and forth cost $ 24, and parking the car ($ 3 a day) and the cost of fuel ($ 4) cost us a dozen evergreens, and the car was under surveillance, not sticking out in the yard.

The issue of living in Warsaw turned out to be long and painful. Accommodation in a Vilnius hostel made us quite happy, so I looked for similar options in Warsaw.

So when I saw the guest apartments in the center of Warsaw for 58 euros, I immediately booked them, good thing there was an option with free cancellation.

In a week I canceled the reservation, because there were apartments with a higher rating, and the price of two euros cheaper: -). We book another hostel (meaning a double room with shared bathroom and kitchen).

In a week we will cancel the reservation again, as another hostel has appeared, with a better location and the same price. Cancel / book again.

I thought it was final, but… But Booking sends a promotional message that if another client on my link bookes a hotel, he will receive a 10% discount on the cost of the reservation, and I will receive a bonus of $ 15. My wife immediately got into the category of "best friend", I registered her on this aggregator and sent the link. The only condition of Booking - the cost of the booked room in the hotel must exceed 100 euros. Okay, I put a search filter for hotels from 100 euros, and almost immediately come across the hotel Ibis Styles Warszawa Centrum (103 euros for a double room for two days). The location is quite nice, right on the banks of the Vistula, the rating on Booking is excellent (8.9), great reviews, especially many noted the chic breakfasts (I'm not indifferent to delicious food; -)).

Well, after all the dances with the tambourine, the hotel cost us 77 euros (103 - 13.6 (my bonus) - 10.3 (wife's discount) - 1.9 (cashback on a bank card)).

I estimated that for 56 euros I can rent a double room in a hostel, and after paying 21 euros I get a full room, and we will have two breakfasts. Even if you break the overpayment only for breakfast, we get 5 euros for breakfast per person. It is unlikely that in Warsaw we could find a cheaper option for a morning snack, so there was nothing to think about. This option was definitely final, as there was no free cancellation when booking. I book, enter the card number, send a request and ...receive a confirmed booking from Booking without withdrawing money from the card! Once again I reread the conditions of the reservation: yes, the penalty for canceling a reservation is 100%, but the money was not withdrawn either this day or the next.

However, there was a small note that the money will be withdrawn by hotel staff, as far as I understand, it meant that payment is made at the reception through the bank terminal. If we did not fly to Warsaw, in order for the hotel not to withdraw money, we would have to block this card and issue another. But that's right, a life hack for not leaving; -)

The last thing was to check in for a Ryanair flight, I wasn't going to pay for the fixed seats, so I waited for the free check-in (it starts 48 hours before departure). Last time we registered almost immediately after the opening of registration, and our places were quite sad, this time we decided to wait until most of the places are dismantled, and then try our luck. With 16 hours left before departure, 90 percent of the seats on the plane had already been redeemed, leaving some pretty seats.

We launched a selection of places, and we got great places (me 4A, wife 16A).

Both places are in the porthole, and the 16th row is generally intended for evacuation, so it is very wide, which is a great salvation for me (my height is 190 cm and I have not enough legroom). Anyuta was not against the exchange, and I already felt the first comfortable flight!

Then we calmly waited for the departure date and set off.

FLIGHT, ROAD TO HOTEL, SETTLEMENT

We took off for the first time from Terminal F of Boryspil Airport, which turned out to be a very good option for us, as the cheapest parking was located almost next to this terminal. We park in the 11th parking lot, leave the parking ticket in the glove compartment, close the car with a key (did not put on the signal because I did not see in this sense), turn off the alarm keychain and go to terminal F.

It looks very inconspicuous, shabby, I joked that in such a terminal, even "Duty Free" is probably not (as it turned out, these words were prophetic - dutik in this terminal really was not). Our cat cried for our luggage, we don't need to register, so we went to the passport and customs control with a calm soul.

Departed / flew perfectly, only the steward took away from all those sitting in the emergency row all the bags (women's handbags, I have a purse). There should be no things in this row so as not to interfere with the evacuation…

We land at Modlin Airport, get off the plane and go to the airport building. It was somewhat shocking that the whole airport consisted of one large hangar in the middle of a clear field. We were not in a hurry to get off the plane, as a result we were one of the last to approach the passport control. Unfortunately, there were only three windows, in which very slow border guards checked documents.

There were a lot of people, as a result we stood in line for more than an hour. In the crowd, the people actively cooperated for joint trips to Warsaw by taxi, we were not very interested, because we were planning a trip to Warsaw by train. When it was my turn, the border guard took my passport, considered the Egyptian visa for a long time, and asked:

- The purpose of the trip?

- Tourism, here's a return ticket, here's insurance, here's Booking booking, here's cash.

- Yeah, no more questions.

Anyuta came next, submitted the documents, and I shouted to the border guard that she was with me so as not to delay the inspection process. He silently stamped, and did not ask her any questions. Freedom! ! ! ! !

Right next to the exit was a counter of a company that provides transfer services to Warsaw. As far as I understood, they had the only bus ticket to the train and the train itself.

It costs 19 zlotys, for two of us it cost 38, I paid by card, received two tickets and we left the terminal. The bus stop was almost right at the exit. The bus had to wait only a few minutes, and here we go to the train station. Prior to that, a relative who flew the same route told us that, in principle, the bus can not wait, and walk along the route. I don't know what he meant by the word walk, but we drove 15 kilometers, so our walk would be very long! Arrived in 10 minutes, the bus schedule is designed so that it brings passengers ten minutes before departure - this time is enough to buy tickets and find the right platform. We didn't need tickets, and immediately looking at the schedule, we went to the right platform.

The train arrived five minutes before departure and stopped on the platform.

Anyuta and I went to the nearest car, stood at the door, and nothing happened, the door was closed and remained. People came out of the other door, I with a belligerent cry "Follow me! " I rushed to the open door, but she vilely closed her nose in front of me, refusing to open, even though I looked at her indignantly for a long time. After saying a few not-quite-literary words, I began to look around. Somewhere far away, a couple approached the door, pressed something on the door and safely went inside the car. Well, for sure! ! ! ! ! I was told that in Poland often the doors to transport do not open themselves, and you need to press the button to open. All right, I find a big red button, press it, and we take another step that brings us closer to Warsaw - we go inside the train!

The train is very comfortable, clean, Ukrainian and Russian broadcast inside, it seems that we are not in Poland, but at home. One day a conductor passed by, checked tickets, houses, roads and ...garbage flashed outside the window. I don't know why anymore, but we drove along garbage dumps, huge mountains of waste paper, plastic (pressed and packed). We drove for forty minutes, got to the central station, a little confused on the platforms and came to the surface of Warsaw.

EVENING WARSAW, SUPERMARKET, WALK AND SETTLEMENT

I turn on Google Maps, my location is immediately on the GPS and ...offers to download a map for this area. Damn, I forgot to download the map of Warsaw in advance! I don't want to turn on the internet on my phone, so after a little search I connected to the free Wi-Fi Burger King and started the download.

The speed was very sad and 80 MB of cards swayed for 10 minutes, but it will end someday and we can go to our hotel.

On the way we went to the supermarket Dworzec Centralny, where we buy delicacies (meat and sweet), juice, a couple of jars of tuna and more. We walked around the hall, two supermarket security guards passed in front of us, everything would be fine, but the inscription "OCHRONA DWORCA" on their backs made me laugh, and I couldn't help but take a couple of photos. We go out, and on the move, absorbing food, we set off.

On the map we drew a route 2.7 km long, there was no desire to deal with public transport, taxis were also eliminated (well, we have budget trips; -)), so we go for a walk in Warsaw.

I will say at once: we really liked the walk! The weather was nice, a warm windless evening and ...complete absence of people!

If the station was crowded, the farther from the center, the more deserted, as a result, we walked alone.

Surprisingly, it's Friday, evening, great weather and none of Warsaw. Maybe hiking is not accepted here? I don't know, I don't know…

On Google Maps we went down a steep descent, then went through the park, the streets and streets and got to our hotel. We stood for a while between two hotels with the inscription IBIS, understood and went to the right place. The reception is very nice, so "home", a little further you could see the bar, where hotel guests were actively relaxing, music was playing, it was fun!

We got a guy at the reception who served us very clearly and attentively. We didn't need a printed Booking reservation, Anyuta just called her last name, he found her in the lists, then the bank card-payment-card issuance, and we went to our room. We got the chambers on the fifth floor overlooking the Vistula.

HOTEL ROOM, NIGHT, BREAKFAST

We really liked the room: beautiful, stylish and very clean. We either got a room after renovation, or all the rooms are in perfect condition, but it seemed that we are the first residents. Bright red colors were intertwined with soft tones, there were not quite clear things in the room (height meter, decorative paddle over the mirror), packed glass bottle of mineral water, tea / coffee / sugar, a couple of glasses, hair dryer, kettle, pen, notebook. It seems like a simple ordinary set, but these little things in the rooms are not always.

In the evening we walked ABSOLUTELY EMPTY surroundings of the hotel, a little stingy in the supermarket and went to bed.

The morning was gloomy, we slept a little, we went downstairs, breakfast was one of the best I've seen in hotels: you could cook fresh sliced and peeled fruit, bake a waffle on a waffle iron, had a variety of cheeses, was near fixed ham (everyone cut it to their liking), hunting sausages, meat, lots of pastries, fruit, etc. … Honestly, it would be my will, I had breakfast, spent an hour in the room, and went down to eat again; -) But Anyuta, of course, indignantly rejected such a "culinary" plan for the morning, I was only allowed to pick an apple from breakfast, and we set off.

LET'S WALK!

While we were having breakfast, I found a program that allows you to buy electronic tickets for all public transport in Warsaw (moBilet).

After a bit of torment in determining the zone we need (two of them, the first - the center and surrounding areas, the second - everything else), I buy two e-tickets for the first zone, it costs us about 11 dollars. Screenshot protection application - showing the QR code, there must be a special slider that certifies the authenticity of the ticket. The thought of what I would do if my phone died came to me later; -) To my great regret, the terrible and scary Warsaw controllers, the stories I read about at the forum, did not honor us with their attention - riding all day on all sorts of vehicles, we never got to check our e-tickets.

My wife always makes routes, she was the first to like Lazanki Park, we didn't even go there, we just walked from our hotel.

The park itself resembles the arboretum "Sofiyivka" in Uman, in small ponds there are many ducks who are not afraid of people, a peacock walked quietly near a building, fish swim quietly near the surface, it is clear that all animals are not afraid. A lone security guard phlegmatically fed the fish bread, I approached, stood next to him, he did not even turn his head, HE WAS BUSY; -)

We walked around the park for a long time, about two or three hours, when we passed a huge tree, I noticed a lot of fresh leaves lying under the tree. Looking up, I saw a squirrel who simply cut off leaf after leaf with his teeth and just threw them down. A kind of barbarism, I immediately remembered the expression "Kill the beaver, save the tree", but I was not so bloodthirsty, so the squirrel happily escaped punishment; -)

Get on the bus and go to the second largest park in Europe on the roof of the building.

We take a bus to the right stop, a little confused, and find ourselves near the building with the inscription "Biblioteka Uniwersytecka". We go around the building on the left side, the entrance to the roof looks like an earthen hill, we slowly go around everything in circles, everything is done great, small waterfalls, flower beds, flowers, intricate paths. I liked the pond, overgrown with lilies, at the top was a vineyard, where I secretly from my wife ate quite edible grapes. We photograph the surroundings from the top tour and move on.

We pass by the "Copernicus Center", my brother highly recommended it, but there is a lot of fun for children, and we were "without anything". We dive into the subway on the banks of the Vistula, our fare is paid, but ...It sounds ridiculous, but we could not get to the subway for ten minutes. That is, we found the subway, but we got stuck near the turnstiles.

Turnstiles agreed to accept some paper tickets or electronic cards, but I did not think of where to put the e-ticket on this turnstile!

And most importantly - there are no people here - no passengers, no subway staff, no one to even ask! We stand alone near the turnstiles, reread the rules of using the subway, it does not get easier, but at least we kill time; -). Hearing footsteps on the stairs, I rushed to the Pole, who was going down to the subway. With the help of an English / Ukrainian mix, I explained the situation to him, at first he just waved away, saying there were tickets, but after I clung to him more specifically, he took me with a heavy sigh to an inconspicuous pocket on the wall. where the bundle of tickets lay. It turns out that you had to take a ticket, the turnstile rolls it and gives the opportunity to pass! All right, thank you, Joseph, and we're moving on.

NO MORE LEADS IN THE LIGHT ...

Anyuta decided to go to the "Krakow suburbs", she was attracted by a large number of monuments, and the place was quite crowded.

I decided to trust Google Maps, where I entered the desired name, the map gave me a point and paved the route. It was quite far to the destination, we took the subway, then the bus, then moved to another bus, and an hour later we finally got there. We got there, but where? The place where we found ourselves was very reminiscent of a sleeping area, we shook our heads, went to the supermarket, had a snack, and began to find out where we needed to go. The sights that Anyuta wanted to see helped us to find the right place in Warsaw, I entered them on the map and calculated the place where we needed. It turned out that we need to go far again, we go the opposite way, with two transfers, but without the subway.

Some buses have free Wi-Fi, the amount of information downloaded is limited to 80 megabytes, or 12 hours. You won't be able to download anything serious, but it will be enough to view the necessary information instantly.

It was really crowded here, even too much! There was a lot of fun around: jugglers, mimes, artists, everyone did what they could, it was very cool to watch it! As we passed something remotely reminiscent of the registry office, we saw several couples in line who wanted to tie the knot, one of them was waiting for a horse-drawn carriage, someone a rare car, and some couples just walked to the Vistula embankment. .

There were a lot of Chinese tourists, they were distinguished by loud companies and the habit of throwing garbage anywhere.

After enjoying ourselves, we went out to a small observation deck, a large number of padlocks and locks were attached to the fence (which protects it), apparently this is a local tradition.

We decide to have a snack with something "non-supermarket", find the nearest cafe, make an order.

I chose the traditional Polish soup "zhurek", Anyuta ordered the likeness of meat dumplings (I did not remember the authentic Polish name) and Lithuanian beets. We waited for the order for a long time, about twenty minutes, but it was worth it - everything was very tasty. We decided not to take coffee, as it implies relaxation and slowness in drinking, so we flew on to Warsaw.

We wandered the streets, went to small shops, bought ice cream. In general, when the charge mode of our forces came to an end, we went to the hotel.

An unpleasant surprise awaited us in the room.

As we were leaving, we left the window open, and before our arrival the whole area near the window, the window itself and the curtain, were strewn with small mosquitoes. Hardly removing most of the midges, we removed everything edible away and went to the supermarket, where we bought delicacies in Kyiv, sorted them, and went downstairs to the bar.

MEDIATION IN A HOTEL BAR

This hotel has a small patio with tables and chairs. We settled down there with convenience, took the menu, it did not differ in special refinements. I bought a non-alcoholic beer "ZYWIEC" and Anyuta wine "Chardonnay EBONY VALE". We sat for a long time (by our standards), then repeated the order, the evening was warm, great mood, I really did not want to go to the room ...

BREAKFAST, FEES, DEPARTURE

Departure was quite early, at 10.15. Late in the evening we played the lottery again - we booked seats on the flight at random.

When the airline's computer illuminated our "random" places, Anyuta and I started laughing without collusion - we got the same places we were on on the flight to Warsaw! ! ! ! ! Well, how can the same seats accidentally fall to two passengers at the same time?

Okay, the places are great, we were satisfied, although the application of Raneira immediately offered to rebook them, but for the money.

Briefly about how to make a whole epic out of ordering a taxi.

In the morning we had to go to Modlin Airport, and the option with an economy trip there (bus-train-bus) I did not consider because we flew with breakfast at the hotel. It turns out you need to take a taxi!

What does an ordinary tourist do in this case? He just comes up / calls the front desk, orders a taxi and calmly goes downstairs and leaves.

This is not my case; -)

After an evening at the bar, I approached the receptionist and checked the cost of a taxi to Moldin Airport. I was immediately given an answer - 115 zlotys (771 hryvnias).

Expensive.

I open the "Uber" application, where I see a price of 103 zlotys (UAH 685).

Already better, but expensive.

I install the application "Bolt", look at the price through it, it turns out 93.56 zlotys (622 UAH).

Expensive.

I find a promo code on the Internet for "Bolt", it gives a discount of 10 zlotys, is already 83.56 (556 UAH).

It's better, but how else to save?

And you can pay by bank card, which is connected to the cashback (16%) by taxi! ! ! ! ! I connect this card, and as a result the trip costs us 70 zlotys (463 hryvnias).

All, I could not order a taxi cheaper, if someone finds a way even cheaper to take a taxi from the hotel "Ibis Styles Warszava Centrum" to Warsaw Modlin airport, please share: -)))))))))) < / p>

We go down to the next sumptuous breakfast, we are in no hurry, I eat all kinds of delicacies, drink coffee with hot croissants, take a couple of apples for business, hand over the card at the reception and I order a taxi through the app. The order is processed almost immediately, the time of arrival of the taxi - five minutes. Great, everything is great, except that our hotel is surrounded by three roads, and it is unclear where the taxi will stand.

We don't have much in common, so when we leave the hotel we separate, and stand on both sides of the hotel, looking like something "taxi-like". Five minutes later, Anyuta reports that a car with the inscription "Bolt" has arrived and is standing with an emergency. I go to my wife, approach the car, check if it is our ordered car, the driver (hearing my broken English) phlegmatically reports: "Yes, you can speak Russian, but you go to Modlin? ». Oh, and here's ours, get in the car and go to the airport.

Morning Warsaw was quiet, deserted and beautiful. While we were driving on the perfect road, I looked anxiously at the neighboring country, in many respects the comparison was not in favor of Ukraine, starting with salaries and ending with the quality of roads.

We got up quickly, say goodbye to Eugene, and go to the airport hangar. Crowded, quiet, compact, go through all the formalities, go into the waiting room, and I am very surprised to see the store "Duty Free"! ! ! ! ! Hooray, you can buy something souvenir!

There was a lot of time, we went all over the store length and breadth, eventually skimped on liqueurs and liqueurs. It was interesting that the price of alcohol varied from where you fly: if you fly NOT TO THE COUNTRY OF THE EUROPEAN UNION, the price was 20-25 percent lower than when flying to the COUNTRY OF THE EUROPEAN UNION. Your direction when buying alcohol was compared on the ticket, no one packed alcohol in airtight bags, so everything was fast and fun.

Then there was a huge queue for boarding, we safely avoided standing in it, because we sat comfortably in the waiting room and approached the check-in desk only when almost all passengers boarded the plane. No, well, what to crowd in the queue, if our seats are reserved, luggage (which must be pushed to the top shelf) is also not.

We sit down on the plane in familiar places, spend an hour and a half peacefully thinking about a great vacation, and are already figuring out where to go next ...

There was a problem with the photos, I failed to clear the memory card, as a result there was only what Anyuta managed to take ...
